  • Thank you so much for watching my reaction to #StarWars #TheBookofBobaFett Season 1 Episode 1 "Chapter 1: Stranger in a Strange Land!" A great season opener! I love the flashbacks to where we've seen Boba Fett before and I'm so excited to see more of who he is now!

Boba's skin looks so rough because of the acidic digestive fluids that he was covered with from being in the belly of the sarlacc. That's one of the reasons he so frequently goes into the bacta tank

One thing some folks don't realize is that he lived with the Tuskens likely for 4 to 5 years

Omega from the Bad Batch is basically Boba's fraternal twin. It will be interesting if that ever is a plot point that is explored.

Hard to think that we would ever feel sympathetic to the Sand People, not to mention some other things coming up, yet here we are.

The blue guy playing the keyboards is Max Rebo. His band also included Droopy McCool and Sy Snootles, the singer with the long snout with lips on it.

In the contexts of this show, yes, daimyo is the title used for the ruler of a territory on Tatooine. In reality, daimyo is a title of Japanese nobility, referring to the great lords and vassals of the Shogun. Samurai swore loyalty to their daimyo and the Emperor.

And yes, in the end the kid/teenager took the credit but the leader knew.

I've never understood how any of these creatures can see anything outside their direct vision. Those helmets would block their vision. Good eye, Emme.

He looks the way he does from the digestive enzymes of the Sarlacc. So this opening is a few day's after he fell in in Return of the Jedi. All the flashbacks occur over the next five years to where season 1 of The Mandalorian occurs. All Tusken Raiders have Gaffi sticks. It's there primary weapon. And yes it is what he uses in The Mandalorian. The tank is a bacta tank. bacta is a healing fluid/water in the Star Wars universe.

I know this got a lot of crap from a lot of fans, but let's look back at history:
Boba Fett was intended to be a throw-away character, which is why he had such an unceremonious end in Return of the Jedi. Lucas completely underestimated the amount of love the character would get from fans. Lucas even said that "Had I known how much people were going to embrace the character, I would have written him a better death.
But think about that for a second.... if Lucas HAD written a "better death" for Boba, this show (and his appearances in The Mandalorian) couldn't have happened. It had been speculated for years (and even some stories were written (now in Legends) how Boba survived the Sarlaac pit. This series actually had a good way to explain that, and that couldn't have been possible if Lucas had given him a more "fitting death".
Myself, I loved the series, and I understood how it was done, and why it was done that way. It would have felt kinda weird for the first half of the series to be about his survival, when we'd already known there was "current time" stuff going on. So, flipping back and forth, while maybe it could have been done better, still worked well enough for me to enjoy it. I'm sorry that others didn't.

Also, at 2:50 - Look at it THIS way: Boba is being "reborn" here. And yes, birth is a pretty disgusting process. But fortunately, Boba's armour DOES seal around his head, and provides oxygen for an undetermined amount of time.
3:25 - From what I've noticed previously, there's a "screen" on the inside of the helmet, that displays what's going on outside of it. So, Mandalorians aren't actually looking through those slits in the helmet.
10:15 - Emme, that is Max Reebo. Originally created for Return of the Jedi. While he WAS on Jabba's sail barge, he somehow survived that incident, and is now working here.
15:40 - That, is an awesome tribute to the legend of Ray Harryhausen. The man who perfected "Stop Motion" photography in movies. It's actually very similar to the Kraken from the original Clash of the Titans (I recommend that movie, BTW), though not quite to the same scale.

This show watered my crops and cleared my skin, my only real complaint is that I felt it could have used one more episode… I’m so glad you are getting to this! Boba really has been through a lot and he deserves a chill life for once.

I'm happy to read in the comments how many other people love TBOBF. I think it's a masterful series, and I love it. If you haven't seen them yet, you will; but the usual gang of Star Wars trolls can't shut up about how much they hate the series, how much it sucks, and blah-blah-blah. Don't listen to them. I'm looking forward to seeing your reaction to the remaining episodes. Enjoy!

In Fuedal Japan a Daimyo was more like a feudal landlord of a territory under the authority of the Shogun, supreme general of the whole land. Not necessarily a crime lord although in his case it is because the population he manages are all criminals.

The theme music for Boba is heavily inspired by a tune in a 1980s Swedish child fantasy film called "Ronja Rövardotter", "Ronia, the Robber's Daughter". Ludwig Göransson that with them in Swedish and have for sure hear the tune. There is a side-by-side comparison of them in th-cam.com/video/qB6ylboZrvs/w-d-xo.html The video contains no spoiler only the tune and a screenshot from this episode.

I already don’t remember much. Maybe if I watch it again I’ll change my perspective. I seem to enjoy this reactors commentary more than most so I’ll refresh my memory on here.

This series has the very real ability to diminish one's appreciation for StarWars as a property. I would suggest skipping it and just watching "The Man Of Recaps" summary of it. That way you get all the positives of the show(which there are few) without having to suffer through the rest of the show.
