Thank you for taking the time to do the comparisons and put them up in a nice way. I do think it would have been useful to add the "Vivid" creative style as well though.
Thanks for making this video, been looking for something simple because like yourself I do not want to color grade later and simply want the best out of camera video possible. With that said, i wish you had gone over the other picture profiles like PP2, PP3, etc not just PP1 and PP8. From what I understand PP2 is setup for low light shooting and PP1 is standard for most everything else. Explaining all the picture profiles for video in layman's terms would be helpful to many of us.
We both have same thoughts just record and post no color grading it take so long one by one clip its really helpful 👍 already subscribed im using a6600 with sigma 56mm
Thanks for help. No one is really focusing picture profiles wchich will give you color grade free output. I own rx100v and I was struggling to get what I want. Thanks to your advice I went for EOSHD profile and ... it works perfectly for me.
Nice video, Slog 3 really needs an input transform LUT to convert the colours from log to rec709 other wise they look green and just yukkyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (youtubers that say you don't need a LUT to grade log footage are very misinformed)
To me Standard still the best of this list, brighter and nice flat skin color, Eos HD it's really too punchy and blotchy on skin tone. Slog3 it's the worse, but this because the 8bit codec, i can clearly see the red arctifact banding on your door, with yellow/green peak on your skin. You should try Slog2 with "Still" or "rec709" color mode, this to me give best result in terms of skin tones and colors overall.
Is it correct that the picture profile is turned off to use Creative Style? Also What shooting mode (M/S/A/Video) do you typically used with Creative Style?
great video. Best around on this subject. I have always gotten confused between the creative styles settings and the picture profiles. the picture profiles have numbers next to them but I don't know which one you are talking about for EOS. You said EOS is the default but what number Picture profile is that. So confusing.
Great job on the comparison. Thanks for giving us skin tones and making it practical. Quick question: How did you manage to limit the flicker from the LED lights? I’m really struggling with the Phillips Hue bulbs. What was your shutter speed set to? Did you use flicker reduction for video? Thanks a lot!
If you want sharp videos use a gopro or smartphone. If you want the cine look then ALWAYS TURN THE IN CAMERA SHARPENING DOWN AS LOW AS IT GOES. sorry for the caps. You can always tune the sharpness up in post.
Great vid. Been shooting EOS HD on my a7riii for about a year but find I have to shoot with about a stop over exposed in camera. Where I get lost is shooting outside on a bright day does anyone still shoot it over exposed? It feels way to bright at that point.
S-log 3 is the flatest of all the profiles. its made for heavy colorgrading and correction as it allows you to have more dynamic range and flexibility in post!
it isn't odd to like standard 0,0,0 you're just agreeing with the japanese technicians locked in some basement staring at meta all day, deciding what it a good photo.
Have never seen such a detailed comparison in so intuitive way. Kudos bro
Neutral 1-2-0 is the best of the bunch by far. I use Standard 1-2-3 (1 sat, 2 con, 3 sharp).
I've been using Neutral 1-2-0 and it's pretty good! Why do you push standard so hard to 2-1-3? Isn't it a bit too much? Or did you mean Neutral 2-1-3?
I felt Neutral 1-2-0 was the best too!! 🎉
Great comparison, however, I find standard 0,0,0 settings the best oddly enough ?
Thank you for taking the time to do the comparisons and put them up in a nice way.

I like standard 0-0-0

Thank you so much for this! I’m the same way, I want minimal color grading and keep it pushing. Appreciate you!
Thanks dude. Lot of work on this video. So helpful!
Very nice video, truly informative

Great comparison. Thanks for doing this.
Great comparison! Thanks
Could you please make a video on slog3 workflow
Quite informative but where are the comparisons for the other picture profiles?
thanks for all this work you put into this video. Very helpful.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to do this.
wow man you saved me so much time thank you, great video

Cracking video dude keep up the great work
tks you. It will be good if you can teach us how to color grade sony A7 series in future
Thx for your video ! Any chance to get a Leica Look profile :-) ?
what lens do you use for this video? already i have a7iii with the kit lens for a sake of money but i am not happy.
thanks! this video is very helpful to me👍👍👍
Thanks for your vídeo! Very good
Why compare Custom White Balance against the other? You just set Custom WB as you want or use a WB card.

Yes!
Great, how did upload it so clear crisp to TH-cam? Which exporting settings did you use in premiere ?
yeah mang... do a camera color profile test with changing light globes behind you, why not
Is it correct that the picture profile is turned off to use Creative Style? Also What shooting mode (M/S/A/Video) do you typically used with Creative Style?
Hate to say it - but Standard 0,0,0 with AWB looks the best to me

gigifaraci EOS HD is a custom setting to give the colors a similar look to canon colors. You can purchase the settings or check forums for info.
Great vedio. White balance. Custom 2 and Auto is the best
If i do post processing..does it matter what creative style i use? Does it change the color information or dynamic range that the camera captures?
Does EOS HD profile effect Raw stills or not? Still photography not video photography
Great video thanks for sharing
WHERE CAN I GET THE EOS
Great job on the comparison. Thanks for giving us skin tones and making it practical. Quick question:

The EOS HD softens the image quite a bit, which makes sense because Canon cameras are not as sharp as others.

Freudian slip @ 8:09 😐
Great video, thank you for this!
How to set contrast, clarity and kelvin in a7iii?
Great vid. Been shooting EOS HD on my a7riii for about a year but find I have to shoot with about a stop over exposed in camera. Where I get lost is shooting outside on a bright day does anyone still shoot it over exposed? It feels way to bright at that point.
Good video.
nice. Should have done some with -saturation.
looking at my menu. haven't found that EOS HD.
Tatang Onyok lol
Great video, scientifically exhaustive yet kept simple. ps; S-Log3 color graded looked best imo.
did you not notice the color breaking at the lights? it looked like someone try to colorgrade a phone video, come on man....
Neutral was my favorite.
I think you just wasted your $20. I like the neutral and colour grade slog better.
Great comparison.
Standard seems to have much more detail than the S-Log 3? Do you know why is that?
S-log 3 is the flatest of all the profiles. its made for heavy colorgrading and correction as it allows you to have more dynamic range and flexibility in post!
How to set in my sony camera
thanks!
