And ledge-guarding. And some weird looking wavedash where he just slides around without actually moving. And hacking the game's RNG to a truly egregious degree in multiple directions.
its called powershielding, ledgehogging, and rng manipulation doesn't involve hacking :)

Very creative! Nice combination of stage-specific quirks, character-specific AI quirks, and RNG to tie it all together. Fun watch.
I had to watch the one at 4:00 like 5 times to figure out what the hell happened. Luigi mixed me so damn hard let alone the CPUs
Melee's best feature is the post battle special bonus which has been criminally missing from every single smash since.

Jeez this really takes me back. I remember randomly unlocking All-Star mode and even the normal difficulty was hard.
I love how you end each fight with Luigi in a cool pose. And the way his voice clips sync with the music at 4:05 is an underappreciated touch.

that being said IMO you should work on the vid's title; the 'very hard all star' part is completely buried and that's the main hook so it should prolly be front and center. perhaps something like "Luigi beats All Star Very Hard by" etc.
also maybe say 'almost absolutely' instead of just 'absolutely' cuz it can feel a bit like a bait and switch. just some food for thought.
Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to target the phrase "Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing" since it's a really really common search term. Targeting All Star Very Hard would make sense for my subscribers, but if I'm targeting that wider audience then most viewers won't even know what that is before clicking.
As for the "bait and switch", I did put "(nothing to his opponents, at least)" in the description, but I can see how it could still be misleading. Maybe I can replace it with something like "Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing (almost)" or "Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing to CPUs"? The title is so long, I can only add 10 more characters to what it currently is.
@@PracticalTAS yeah thinking about it a bit more I think the optimal way to surface the 'all star very hard' is to find a way to work it into the thumbnail, at least the "very hard" part. there's not even enough room to fit both concepts (luigi winning doing nothing, beating all star very hard) in one title without part of it getting cropped, but the thumbnail is free real estate.

loving the fact some details i wouldn't know without studying the game before hand are pointed out to the audience, cpus chase off screen platforms, rng makes the stage move faster on ice climbers' fight, pal differences hence its use.

How long did you make this TAS? Just curious. This is beyond amazing.
A few weeks on and off for prep (figuring out the RNG manipulation, testing for SDs, etc), then maybe about 20-30 hours to TAS it
This is awesome. How did you find these strategies? Trial and error?
Some of them, yeah. A few are well known from real-time runs of All Star mode. Once I found enough stages to guarantee a fast completion, I did the RNG manipulation at the start to make sure I landed only on good stages.
