Good, I'm glad the vid was helpful!! It's so worth getting in my opinion...jst becuase the camera can do so much, might as well protect it! Please let me know how it works out for you, happy surfing!

I appreciate the video about the above water use, because having a bare camera lens exposed to the elements is not safe or smart. The case is worth the money, because the camera costs more to replace.

100%! Especially in dynamic environments. My suction cup undid itself the other day as I was parking my car and the case got pretty badly scuffed...but at least it wasnt the camera. Glad you liked the video!

Very good video.. Can you make the selfie stick completely disapear with the new case above water ?

Thanks for an excellent review. I've been looking at the Invisible Dive Case as a way to protect the Insta360 X3 when capturing above water action shots (skateboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing etc.) Your video is the only one I've found looking specifically at above water use. Top stuff. 🤙

That makes me happy to hear it helped you! I feel like using it gives you peace of mind. ...you could get the little lens covers too for out of water stuff but I haven't heard the best things, plus if the camera tumbles I wonder if it would still break the glass, one of these days i'll try it. ty for the feedback 🙏

Thanks for info how the image looks above water.. i killed a couple of insta 360s while windsurfing. i will start using a dive case! Would not rainclear for car windows work on the case to shed water drops?

You're welcome!! glad it helped...definitely use the case, you'll be able to film without worrying about your camera. Rainclear or Rain X works, but I really am not convinced you'll be able to eliminate water drops completely. The invisible dive case sheds a bit better than the original. Definitely experiment. ALSO, be prepared to replace the dive case because it will get scratched but it's better than replacing the whole camera.!

Hi, you may want to consider RainX Plastic water repellent treatment for your dive case. It would reduce the water beading on the case blocking the filming. Since you have 2 cases maybe you could do a comparison of with and without RainX to show how well it works on the dive cases when used above water while kayaking.

I didn't know that was a thing.....I was concerned using regular RainX for glass because I wasn't sure if it would damage the lens. Ty ty ty!, I'll definitely get some and do a comparison, great idea.

so, I bought the Rain X and tried it out over the past week...filming A Roll today for the comparison, including your comment in the video, appreciate the suggestion

I am curious to see how well it works on the dive case. I just upgraded to the new dive case myself for the x3 but I use it for scuba so RainX would not be an advantage for that.

nice! the new case is so much better without the nadir in the way... there's definitely a difference with the Rain X, it's fairly helpful using it. It could be good for diving ifyou want some fancy entry/exit water shots@@petergdickson

Will have to try it. I have been so pleased with rainx glass for windshields and even for bathroom mirrors to prevent fogging. I may try rainx plastic on the inside of the dive case to prevent fogging. The anti fog pads worked great for the first dive but when I had to open the case and change the battery and the anti fog pads on the dive boat between dives I noticed a little bit of fogging during the second dive. A bit of rainx on the inside of the case may keep the slight fog from forming on the inside. I am curious to give it a try.

Great review video… how did you keep a good resolution on this video? My 360 x3 always downfrade when I export a video. Also, do you think the dive case works well for above water videos? Im noticing thst my lense protectors always affect the video by showing some blurry areas … thank you

Happy you liked it! When I was researching the camera I came across this video and set my camera up according to what was shown th-cam.com/video/kCTFjBQfRb0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=w4ZqTLVFkha-ANlc

@sergiovargas2990 And I do think the Dive case works above water for above water videos.....except for the water droplets and the sunflares in certain lighting. For my application, I need to protect the camera bc it'd be destroyed in rough water, my paddle, and my mount falling over sometimes. If you're careful for a calmer time on the water then it's probably more ideal without it.
Also, I was having some of those blurry image problems myself, I use Adobe elements to edit and stopped changing my project settings. .....also recently realized for shorts I should try shooting for 9 16 vs 16 9, next time I go out I'll try.
As for the blurry lens protectors, I haven't used them...but I remember seeing a not so great review on them, but I would love to still try them out. It could be condensation? The Fog Strips are a MUST in the dive case! (Also trying ceramic spray too in a week or so, curious if it's more hydrophobic than Rain X
