Stereo and Monaural on Small speakers doesn't make a big difference, I might buy the Charge 4 because it can sync with my Xtreme 2. Flip 5 and Xtreme 3 are in different sync format. Was hoping for better mids and highs from Sony in the 33. I've preferred the JBL sound signature in the past and for this battle, I'm going to stick with the high frequency detail of the Charge 4. I do agree, JBL needs to stop with the Mono BS. Not that you get a lot of stereo separation from these, but there is a certain amount of "sparkle" that comes with stereo that is missing in mono.
the charge 4’s model is what really matters, GG has a plastic driver so it might sound bright at higher volumes but TL on the other hand has a paper driver which delivers sound more clearly and due to it being mono, the comparison isnt really fair
Go sony i have sony srs xb33 i love it because i buy it and the sound is slow bass and i read the box then i see a app i downloaded i upgrade my SRS xb33 the i enjoy😁
I thought the bass wise, they were similar, perhaps the Sony beat it on volume of bass, but the JBL perhaps went deaper. However the highs were more noticable on the jbl, giving it a more balanced sound.
I have both of them and I gotta say the Sony is a bit louder ( even at stamina mode ) but doesn't sound as good as the JBL at 100% volume, the Sony has more bass at lower volumes like 30 to 50% and the JBL takes in at like 60%. So they're both great and very loud for their sizes but the bass doesn't get that loud, not like shaking
Just bought a Sony xb33 and the volume is way to low even on 100% volume. I can lower the volume only a few clicks, the volume reduces too much. I got the Sony app, played with the equalizer. Volume increased a little. I checked every setting on my iPhone and the Sony app. Looked up troubleshooting tips. Volume still not what it should be. I’m very disappointed, I’ve owned a xb31 for years and it can peel paint with its volume. Going to return this xb33
Doesn't the Sony has a tuner (or how do you wanna call it), where you can change highs/mids/lows for your taste? (I'm about the buy one of these, so I don't own any yet).
@@elpatrico2562 Same here. Tbf, JBL is overrated. There are better speakers to compete with Sony than a speaker with compromises on every angle like the Charge 4.
@@Alessietto_03 yeah at max the JBL could retain more Bass... like Humming Bass but the punch would disappear because it compresses the sound so the speaker won't distort. .. The Sony on the other hand has the same characteristics as well as the Charge 4
The sony actually does sound better I think. The JBL has boosted highs which become shrill in some songs. The sony seems a little quieter which makes it hard to judge properly in the context of this test. If you want loudness, go with the JBL it seems. Otherwise, you can really tell in the last song during the test. If you turn the volume up slightly for the sony, it becomes apparent that the sony has the more coherent sound, even if it's nice to have those more pronounced highs on the JBL sometimes. The JBL sounds very V-shaped, emphasis on bass and treble. The sony seems to lean a bit warm and base heavy, but with a flatter curve. I would like a little more highs out of the sony though. Something in-between these two would be perfect
I'm looking for a bluetooth speaker that sounds as good if not better than my 2nd gen amazon echo for my desk set up. I thought the small sony srs xb12 would do but it's not working or me. I'd love to hear opinions.
Actually turning the JBL into LFM would cause some damage to the Driver ... also it sounds way off than the default mode... because it disables the JBL EQ and DSP ... so it puts out a crappy sound also LFM has more bass in Higher volumes but it badly distorts..
Converting it to mono would lost most of the details in the Treble so its not a good choice for listening through stereo while your music is in mono...
I am not sold on the sony XB33 or JBL charge 4 as I know there are better performing speakers out here on the market. but I'm still looking forward to seeing what jbl charge 5 is gonna bring to the table because I hate mono speakers. and this music industry doesn't record in mono so I don't understand why jbl would downgrade they portable speakers from stereo to Mono, so I hope JBL go back to stereo drivers....
Can you compare any of those products to lg pk3 and pk5 or pl2 or pl7 please. Lg is always getting sidelined, despite having really good audio tech, tuned my Meridean.
yours looks considerably more white than the "taupe" version on the sony website, does this mean a white is available elsewhere or that the taupe looks whiter in person?
Agreed. However you must take into account that the Sony speakers bass, mid and high frequencies can be adjust to get rid of the muffled sound. Stereo speakers vs a mono speaker will also give a slightly different sound as you are separating two channels instead of every frequency being forced out of all speakers at once like in the JBL Charge 4. It will sound punchier but it will not separate the highs, mids and lows like stereo speakers can do.
I dont want to believe that Sony released finally an improved XB43 but fucked up again with the XB33... :/ Would be interested in how far the XB33 can be corrected and pushed via EQ to get some usable hights. The XB30 also needed this correction, but it changed the sound character by changing volume... With standard settings XB33 sounds like a big kitchen radio with a towel over it, the same as the XB30... In any case it's unbelievable that Sony is not able to release a good sounding mid size speaker. I mean i don't like the JBL sound signature that much, but at least there is a straight line in their setup. Every speaker has the same sound setting. In my opinion it would just be logical if the XB33 would sound like a smaller XB43, or a bigger XB23. For a couple of years the most reviewers complain the weak hights on the XB3_ series, but Sony don't care. I don't understand the changes on the XB43 (tweeters for better hights) and on the other hand the unchanged sound structure on the XB3_. So for me it's clear they know what the problem ist, but they don't change it. I don't know what goes on in the Sony sound ingeneers mind...
Enache Sorin The point is that I have the comparison with many devices. XB30, Denon Envaya 250, Tribit MaxSound Plus, EarFun UBOOM, HK Go&Play... It is not absolutely necessary to implement Tweeters, it is just a question of basic soundsetting and DSP. So you can push the XB30 on a higher level with the implemented EQ. But to get really clear and crisp hights I have to use a further EQ on the DAP or Smartphone. It is the same thing on the UE-cans. Sounding hollow and non-hifi. The hardware is OK but is falling short of its own soundsetting. I like my XB30 really much, thats the reason why i‘m a little bit disappointed about relatively little improvement over the last years. As said, before it‘s not the hardware, just the adjustment. XB 31 is worst, XB32 sounds better than XB30 but worse in handling. Maybe i‘ll try the XB33 again when the price is OK. I heard it just for few minutes with standard EQ (flat and live sound mode) at a friend of mine, unfortunately he hasn‘t got it no more. Maybe it’s possible to push Treble.
It’s at reasonable price. I owned XB32, but I upgraded to XB33 becuz it’s a major improvement. I wasn’t used to the new design, but starting to see this a reasonable balance between size and shape. The sound is also richer than 32, more clearer and sturdier bass. It’s bigger than the previous model sadly, but when I carry it, the XB33 is a more balanced weight while the previous feels unbalanced that could fall easily. Overall I think the XB33 is worth a mention on improvement to the previous model.
sone have better bass and middle, jbl does have more trebble but, its toooo much trebble, and the sony speakers u can set the trebble at +10 and it will sound really great
I can EQ the Sony in it's app to sound like the JBL if I wanted, can't on the JBL. You can also EQ audio within most Android phones, at least Sony and Samsung
Yes Samsung has its own EQ, but the issue is the Customizable is flawed, adjust it while your music is playing, if you increase like the treble or16k hz the bass get automatically lowered.
If you combine the two blutooth speakers, then there's no problem. The xb33 doesn't have the highs of jbl and its bass. Though the sony has better bass, the JBL has somewhat of a different bass frequency. Playing the two together would create the perfect sound/music
Latency issues seems to be the problem. I have XB32 and Charge 3 and I tried to play it together, and damn it's so disgusting to hear when one Speaker lags behind whilst playing the music. Well I trade my XB32 to a Charge 4 in order to use there prowess hehe
@@kgt8742 You can mate! My phone (S10+) have this feature that may connect up to 5 devices at the same time. And this Feature is been implemented since 2018
The Charge 3 and Charge 4 doesn't really have a huge difference in sound just the bass on Charge 4 is slightly boosted in moderate volumes while at Maximum you get the same bass as the Charge 3 while the Charge 3 is slightly louder because it pushes Mids and Treble....

The jbl charge 4 sounds excellent in comparison to the xb33..some people have attacked my opinion of the xb33 but this video proves my point and with the xb43 at 250$ there is no way im paying that for tweeters..im onboard for a charge 4 if the speaker buying mood hits but for now the xb32 is my go to speaker..

Sony has its own sound settings also. The xb33 gives you more options I think in adjusting the sound to your liking. Hope this helps
@@monkeyboykc3190 thanks a lot bro! I'm going to sony showroom to check it out. I think I'll buy sony only!
Agreed...
Correct I prefer 2 speaker Setup although in practicality you won't hear a huge separation of right and left channel from small speakers .
the charge 4’s model is what really matters, GG has a plastic driver so it might sound bright at higher volumes but TL on the other hand has a paper driver which delivers sound more clearly
and due to it being mono, the comparison isnt really fair
If the charge was stereo it would be a lot better and if the sony was mono it would still suck
Great review.. now I know which speaker to go with.. thanks for the binaural recording..
Which do you pick?
I owned JBL charge 4.Good speaker overall.
I have the same Problem
Sorryyy to say this time im confused 🙃🙃 sony has improved a lot
Charge 4
@@kennethsigurd6634 charge 4 only better in highs
Good afternoon Willington!! 💛💛💛
Doesn't the Sony has a tuner (or how do you wanna call it), where you can change highs/mids/lows for your taste? (I'm about the buy one of these, so I don't own any yet).
You can change it in the sony speaker app
And they are great
@@jamilbensaif7891 Yep, just bought the XB, I'm loving it
@@elpatrico2562 Same here. Tbf, JBL is overrated. There are better speakers to compete with Sony than a speaker with compromises on every angle like the Charge 4.
Sony is for bass, but jbl has a cleaner sound
I mean at max volume the JBL can retain more bass but yeah maybe at 60 % Sony has more bass...but JBL sound more clearer
The sony was bad, hights distorted and it only has upper bass
I'm looking for a bluetooth speaker that sounds as good if not better than my 2nd gen amazon echo for my desk set up. I thought the small sony srs xb12 would do but it's not working or me. I'd love to hear opinions.
Maybe Tribit Maxsound Plus? It's really affordable and it has a decent sound for its size and price...
JBL sounds like body without bones...
No hard attack just buble of bass
Sony needs Extra Bass mode to get around JBL
What if JBL LMF is on?
dude the bass is weaker with lfm and not stronger, its just lower frequenzy
Dude lfm doesn't give u bass it just makes it fart (which is good for those bass test kids)
Actually turning the JBL into LFM would cause some damage to the Driver ... also it sounds way off than the default mode... because it disables the JBL EQ and DSP ... so it puts out a crappy sound also LFM has more bass in Higher volumes but it badly distorts..

How long does the sony battery last? Because my jbl charge 3 can last like 15hours of use
Nice song! But C4 seems to getting better on this battle. Maybe activating some recourse on Sony it gets better =)
Would the XB33 sound more like the Charge 4 if you playback music via mono mode from the phone?
Converting it to mono would lost most of the details in the Treble so its not a good choice for listening through stereo while your music is in mono...
Sony the king👍🏼
I am not sold on the sony XB33 or JBL charge 4 as I know there are better performing speakers out here on the market. but I'm still looking forward to seeing what jbl charge 5 is gonna bring to the table because I hate mono speakers. and this music industry doesn't record in mono so I don't understand why jbl would downgrade they portable speakers from stereo to Mono, so I hope JBL go back to stereo drivers....

Hello! If you could buy a SRSXB43 or a JBL Charge 4, Which would you buy?
Sony!!!!!!
Jbl sounds clear compared to the Sony; on the upper level. I think the charge 4 wins. Sony sounds muffled.
Thanks
Ты дурак???? У jbl звук как в бочке качетсво звука лучше у сони она чисто играет, а jbl только бухает бум бум
Sony srs xb 32 is best or srs xb 33 ,I want to purchase one of it please tell which I buy.
33!!!❤️
The Xb33 is adjustable however in its sound modes..so can be adjusted to suit your preferences.

Mate. Can you do a Sony Xb33 vs Ue Megaboom 3 video
Sony: BASS
JBL: bass middle treble
sony have better middle
Jbl have better high
sone have better bass and middle, jbl does have more trebble but, its toooo much trebble, and the sony speakers u can set the trebble at +10 and it will sound really great
without the first guy. is all truth
Sony is stereo and best middle
Sony sounds boomy and JBL sounds cleaner but on some songs the treble on the JBL seems harsh.
Hi, did you use ldac for the sony during the test ?
So it's better to get an xb32 instead for a cheaper price.
Xb32 and adjust eq settings for mids and highs all the way up..thats the way i use it and it sounds great..
Who noticed that he forgot to review or sound test the xb23
5:18 5:30 7:02 7:18 8:40 is that mic static noise?
I can EQ the Sony in it's app to sound like the JBL if I wanted, can't on the JBL. You can also EQ audio within most Android phones, at least Sony and Samsung
Yeah but it wont be as loud
I didn't know you can play those together ciz they're different brands.
