    I’ve been binge watching this channel & once I got to the Trafficking stories my heart & stomach dropped! I kept passing up the videos because I am a rape & dv Survivor 💜. Hi my name is Sara. From 5 to 11 years old I was groomed, raped, tortured, sold, & brainwashed by my uncle. He programmed me to be his little ‘princess’ or ‘kitten’. I learned to disassociate when horrible things were happening to me. I still have chunks of memories missing & get flashbacks. Certain things , smells, or even sounds make me want to go into fight or flight mode. I have CPTSD, anxiety, flashbacks, & OCD. It has taken me along time to somewhat heal. The trauma I endured will always be with me. I can finally say it was NOT my fault, I did not deserve it, I didn’t ask for it, & I love myself. I used to have so much anger & hatred in my heart. I didn’t get any type of justice all because of the people my uncle knew. It was like what happened to me didn’t happen. There was no ‘proof’ even though I remember being recorded 😢. I am glad I decided to watch these videos because these women are absolutely AMAZING, BRAVE, STRONG, & SURVIVORS! Y’all are enough & deserve so much better. Thank you for telling your stories! I promise you it will help so many people. I tell my story to help others & let them know they’re not alone. Sending you so much love & prayers ❤.

      Thank you and it feels like words are not enough to be able to express how grateful, angry, proud, and so thankful that you and the strong, brave women that have shared their stories and journeys on this channel. I wish there was a button to push and you all could feel the overwhelming feeling in my heart and how I can also relate to having been abused by an uncle as well along with another person that was a friend and not being able to remember everything, which for me at this point in my journey is not something I need to have in order to continue to heal.
      These evil people will reap what they have sown, and I have faith that while I may never be able to witness the legal, and spiritual debt being collected, I know that I know it most definitely 💯 will be exacted upon these evil monsters. We only further hurt ourselves when we are not able to get to the point where the healing can begin.

    Wow, Wow, WOWWW! Her testimony is incredible and she speaks so eloquently. She articulated what she went through so well, I’m speechless. I’ve lost all my closest friends, I’m sorry about your son. There was a time recently when my parents seriously thought they were going to bury me. I’m the only one out of that friend group who didn’t die or go to prison. Sometimes I feel really guilty that I made it out. God bless you and thank you for trying to understand it, it means a lot to addicts.

      Also you seem like a genuine soul. I just wanted to tell you I came from great parents and my addiction had nothing to do with them. I feel like parents don’t hear that enough and obviously I don’t know you or your situation. But my parents actually apologized for my child hood. And I got tell them that it wasn’t their fault. I’m not great with words or this type of thing. But I just wanted to share that with you. Because i think good parents often blame themselves.

    Jessica I just wanted to say thank you for speaking with us today, I have a sorted past myself with now three kids to look after. I have recently been reading the Bible and finding God which I have never considered before. The father of my children told me if I start going to church he will leave me and the kids. I feel empowered to follow my faith and found a great church I will attend for the first time on Monday. I am tired of living in fear of abandonment because I now know that I am a strong individual and if I feel compelled to listen to God and follow his word and his people I will live a better life than living in the shadow of a man. God Bless you for encouraging me to follow my own light.

  • @taylorbrown7625
    @taylorbrown7625 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

    My trauma was at school. I suffered from panic attacks. One day when I was in 6th grade we were doing the star test. It's a state test. We had these little slips of paper with our username and password. I was given mine, but I lost it. I told the para that I somehow lost mine. She called me irresponsible and I began to cry and have a panic attack. I was hyperventilating and the rest of the students in the computer lab were staring at me. She yelled at me to stop crying and that I was distracting the other students. So because I was overwhelmed I ran out of the computer lab. My teacher was in the hall talking to another teacher. I began to run down the hall searching for a room to go into to cry. My teacher yelled at me not to run in the hall and began to go after me. She was yelling at me to stop. So I did. She grabbed my arm and pulled me back towards the computer lab. It hurt. I cried harder. She pulled me in front of the computer lab and began to talk to me very sternly. How dare I run away from a teacher. And that I shouldn't run in the halls because it's dangerous. I tried to explain that I ran because I needed time to calm down. I was placed in a chair in the computer lab with the other students and they got me my username and password. I finally got logged in to take my test and my teacher kept coming over saying with gritted teeth that I needed to stop crying because I was distracting other students. Well that's why I ran out of the classroom in the first place. I hope teachers now understand that students with anxiety or trauma need to be treated with kindness and compassion.

      @TexasPictures  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      We appreciate your question. We're learning a lot about trafficking as we develop this ongoing series. What we've learned so far is that "human trafficking" is a term that can include many types of exploitation where the victim is manipulated, usually endures a mental torment, feels trapped even if free to leave. We're learning as we go.

    • @glcmranger421
      @glcmranger421 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I was curious after hearing her justifications, also. You’re not the only one. The way she explains it, one could assume that models, of any type, are also “victims” as others buy their photos or buy the clothes they are modeling. Who’s the victim when photographers visit schools each year to photograph all the students and offer picture packages for families to purchase? I’m not being facetious, but it goes to show how the definition can be manipulated easily.
      My other thought was how the women in these strip clubs think about her coming in to tell them how they need rescuing from traffickers while bringing them Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas gifts? It’s could be construed as, “You’re trapped, so here’s a little something to help normalize it.” What a double edged sword…

    Testimonies are sometimes kinda ugly, aweful and horrendous,hideous.
    But these are testimonies that need to be heard and need to be listened to by people.

    I’ve been watching a few videos like this about women speaking on their experiences as a sex trafficking survivor and every person whose story I’ve watched is religious. I don’t know it is just really intriguing as an agnostic/non believer how these amazing women who have gone through so much trauma and darkness speak of God saving them and leading them through the dark. I don’t know just food for thought you know

    Don't come at me for my question / post as it is a genuine attempt to understand. If she was voluntarily returning each night, how is she a victim of trafficking? When I think of trafficking, I think of force, against the victim's will. I did hear her mention sexual assault - many women are sexually assaulted though, and it not fall under the criteria of trafficking. There are also many people in substance use recovery that do not prostitute to support their addiction. She is trying to blame the "demand" on men. The same argument can be made in reverse....if the women are not making the "supply" available, etc. It just feels what she is saying diminishes the horrors of those who are in the "lifestyle" against their will, who are forced to perform sexual acts with multiple men, passed from one to another. In fact,, I think victims of sex trafficking don't repeatedly refer to it as "the lifestyle". Certainly she has a sad story but I just don't understand how she presents herself as a victim of trafficking. She said herself "bad choices and decisions" - how is it any more than that?

      Intrigued, I look at the Department of Justice definition: justice.gov. Sex trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, obtaining, patronizing, or soliciting of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such act has not attained 18 years of age.
      How does what she describes meet this criteria?

      a commercial sex act induced by coercion seems like the best match. We're learning about human trafficking as we go. Clearly this is a different type of story. The Department of Justice definition is more of a legal definition. Counseling services, suppport groups, victim advocates are likely to definte it differently.

      @TexasPictures Thank you. The other story, Megan's, appears to check the sex trafficking victim boxes 100%. These two women appear completely different: Jessica voluntary sex work involvement and Megan not. No judgment against Jessica, her story is sad, but what she describes sounds more like voluntary sex work that she is now attempting to blame on men for the repeated decisions she made to walk through the door each night. And certainly, there needs to be recovery and relapse prevention education and programs for sex workers but not at the expense of sex trafficking victims (their experiences and identity, available community resources, etc). Jessica comes across as a voluntary sex worker to justify it by stepping under the sex trafficking umbrella. Anyway, again, thank you for the response. The fentanyl epidemic is what brought me here some time ago and I always highly recommend it to others whom I feel may benefit.

    If couples would get counseling early in the cycle of marital problems, they could probably prevent most divorces. Unfortunately, the greatest regret of marriage counselors is that couples wait too long to seek help. If you have serious disagreements during the first 6 months of marriage, start counselling asap. Often one spouse has a personality or learning disability. These situations can often be made bearable through counseling, neurofeedback and possibly medication. I think couples start pledge to agree to seek help if one partner is in distress. Maybe if people vow this in church, more marriages can be saved. In some cases when a marriage fails, grandparents or aunt and uncle can stabilize the child. Judges should be allowed to award custody to extended family if the parents are extremely dysfunctional, and have the parents pay child support to the relatives, with a monitor verifying that the $ benefits the child.
