that game has a crazy amount of helicopter mods and it's crazy
BUT Arma 3 isn't an official Helicopter game though lol. Although it could be I guess if playing as a Heli is all you care about in this game lol.

The only realistic physics based chopper game I played and finished many many times on consoles is apache air assault. It needs to be played on capable hands on realistic mode. The FLIR shooting looks like the real deal.
Wut about Arma 3? it has both jet aircraft and helicopters with a shit load of mods, plus its cracked!

Choplifter (1982)
Desert Strike (1992)
ARMA II : Operacion ArrowHead (2010)
Kerbal Space Program (2011)
In my experience and completely irrelevant opinion, probably the best multiplayer-coop helicopter-arcade mil-sim games are:
Battlefield 2 (2005): mod and standalone game "Project Reality"
ARMA 2 MODs/Missions: Domination2, Warfare - Benny Edition
Taking over the baton from this games:
Arma 3 (2013)
Squad (2020)
One of the best/expert pilots in sim-mil games is called Dslyecxi.
Check out his guides and tutorials to master the warzone!
Project reality is great, but people hog the shit out of the helis. I haven't gotten to use one once in multiplayer
Battlefield 1942 is abandonware now so it's pretty easy to get the Desert Combat mod installed and running. Op Desert Shield and Kharkov (sic) are both great maps for killing bots with an AH-1 and AH-6, respectively.

Yeah - Gunship! 1999 from Microprose. I play it on older equipment and it’s probably a pain to get running on todays PCs.

top 10 helicopter games: leaves out everything from eagle dynamics... but includes take on helicopters.... you sir are a fool
Of all the games I've played over the years, my favorite games have been: Gunship!, Apache 1995, Hind 1996, Team Alligator, Air Attack Assault, Air Attack Assault 2, Apache Air Assault 2010, Heliborne (at the beginning of its development), Enemy Engage Apache vs Havoc and (!) Enemy Engage Comanche vs Hokum, especially the community-developed version of the game.
And of course DCS with its helicopters.
I also want to try Team Apache and Longbow 2.
The gameplay of helicopters in War Thunder is also quite interesting, but personally I rarely play there.
But oddly enough, overall I enjoyed flying helicopters the most in GTA, Battlefield and Arma games, where helicopters were not a very big part of the game.
The best game in my opinion, where helicopters are the most interesting to play even despite the not very good flight physics, is Battlefield 2. This game constantly “holds me” to this day.
I play various modern mods like Damocles, ZCF, AEK, AIX.
Moreover, I am painting my new textures for the helicopters in the game. First of all, I redrawn the textures of the rotors to make the helicopters look much more attractive.
Someday I will release my addon for the game so that everyone who is interested in flying in this game can also enjoy it.
