In my opinion and after so many thoughts about this tertiary function topic, I think the way to actually open up the tertiary function is to develop the trickster. In the case of the content in this video, ISxPs need to develop trickster Ne. They need to start to know that their own subjective interpretations and ideas are not always just about them and the world is full of potential and other ideas and interpretations that the outside world presents.
After I watched this video, I actually realized that probably it's not just auxillary Se which is going to help, but also trickster Ne. They have to actually work together to open ISxPs up.

A summary of some key points in this video:
    1. Ni child can result in good to great contingency plans for the future
    2. Ni child can result in the belief in conspiracy theories (though sometimes does theories prove to be true)
    3. Ni child loves its intuitive leaps and hunches
    4. Tertiary functions can flip between hot and cold really fast, with Ni child flipping between playfully entertaining possibilities to being roughly pushed aside for hard Se reality
    5. Tertiary functions in general can project their feelings of childishness onto those individuals with the same function in a dominant position.

I'm am ISTP and I removed myself from Social Media for a very different reason.
I wanted to eschew external validation.
It's been really good for me and my enjoyment of things I do, for their own sakes.

This is such a true video. Its probably the most major problem in my life, my terror of the future and therefore inability to plan or imagine anything in the future, Its really a struggle being like this. What you said about the Se being the parent that gives you a call to action to get out of your own head and actually do something is so true. I go through this every single morning when i wake up. Ni is saying just 10 more minutes to think about everything and to go over the same old thought patterns, and eventually Se kicks in and says get up, get dressed, move around and actually do something.

Isfp here! Developing a relationship with my SE has been absolutely life changing. I didn’t know anything about typology when I started developing this relationship, it was something that came about very organically for me in the form of an epiphany when I was 20. For the last 6 years I’ve been leaning on my SE, though I didn’t have the term for it till just recently, to ground my dreams into reality and it has been so amazing for my mental health and the quality of my life ❤️ I’m an artist, I work 100% for myself and am able to allow my FI and NI to steer me into different directions while my SE and TE keep me building in the process 🙌 so thankful to have finally found my true cognitive stack! I was mistyped first as an infj then as an infp until I dove down the rabbit hole because though both those types seemed like they were familiar, they didn’t fit like a glove. Thank you ladies for your videos they have been so informative ❤️❤️❤️ much love!

I was looping Ti - Ni for a good portion of my early 30's. I love that I have an idea of the actual system of this rut. Thanks!

Ni, and Intuition in general, is really weird and hard to understand to me as an ISFP, so I appreciate you explaining this so well :)
Especially the part about being scared of the future/ the world right now is soo relatable...

Getting off all the socials and taking in from actual REALITY is a really excellent idea, for multiple reasons. Being supper selective on intake. 👍🏻- istp

Isfp often mistypes as infj because of the Ni loop. I agree...

I've been told I found meaning in things when there's not. As I've aged I do that less. I think Se parent is stronger now then it was in my 20s.

Thank you 💜 I understand my functions so much better now. When I reflect on my personal development and what made it positive, it’s because I allowed the Se parent to take the lead. For those who are struggling, you are not alone. Find a physical activity that you enjoy doing. That could be eating delicious foods at the restaurant or taking a road trip to the lake. Do small and big physical activities here and there. you will see it’s not so hard to walk around the world 🙂 Your Se parent will show you what you are capable of doing and you will find your strengths. 🙂 you got this!!!

So last year before this pandemic hit I was still in college but i was struggling with my perception of reality and fears for the future so bad that when the pandemic hit and i came home I shut myself off of all social media contact with anyone that wasn't my immediate family for like 2 months before I even looked at their messages. I ended up dropping out but man after looking into MBTI more and finally starting to understand the functions i think I spent easily 8-10 months looking back now, in an Ti-Ni loop where I honestly didn't know what the hell was happening.
I'm pretty sure I'm an ISTP

Ok, so I took my first mbti test about 3 days ago and I was amazed. I'm an istp. Still not sure what that means but the first video I watched about my type started with a guy standing in his shop with sports playing on the TV and a basketball on the floor. Just so happens I was in my shop watching the game and i can see my basketball across the room. I instantly paused the video ran upstairs and asked my wife and daughter to take the test. I've been watching an reading anything I can on the about the subject ever since. I'm excited to see how I can become the best version of me that I can be... very dope

What this channel does better than a lot of other channels that start out is that this channel already has a great presentation from the start A logo, a fun name, slogan, good quality video, good camera position, a consistant coverage of topics etc. So yeah, well done!

I have been the target of an Ni-tertiary’s impossibly complicated theory about my non-existent malevolent motives, which, if I deny, further proves my malevolent motives. This aspect of Ni-tertiary can indeed be quite nightmarish.

Ni for me just produces anxiety about future outcomes or possibilities that are in the future and haven’t happened, ie they are not real. Infuriating stuff at times, this Ni.

I’m an INFJ that’s starting to get to know an ISFP harmonizing subtype. How Ni and Se manifests in her life interests me a lot, especially in regard to the differences. Although she’s not yet super familiar w/ cognitive functions, I wonder how she sees my dominant Ni and inferior Se.

I’ve been hanging out with Infj and Intj friends, and I’m Isfp. Since I do value a lot about Ni function, I always wanted to learn Ni function from them. They are definitely very insightful, deep-thinker and I admired that. But like.. at the same time, since their inferior is Se, and it’s obviously my parent function, whenever I use se and show any se-behavior or words, they always perceive it pretty negatively. For example, I was like a person, if the machine is broken, I just wanna try to fix it. Like I always feel like I can. I always have this sort of unproven confidence to “implement things”. But those Ni dom friends would always stop me and ask, so what’s your plan to fix it? or like they would keep talking about uncertainties or something that they see. Like Shut the Fuck off about those “plans”. Please stop looking me down when I try to go for it. They always think that I’m too rushing or restless, but I want to say, that they are sometimes Pussys. Like, just try it bro, cuz it seems so obvious and easy to fix. lol.. They are just so fucking careful and ignoring my Se behaviors and it’s so discouraging me. Because of that, I’ve been having this Fi-Ni loop. I do want to develop my Ni function with them or course, but at the same time, it’s like their dom function is saying the opposite thing of my parent function Se.. while, I try my best to understand their Ni functions.. -> Definitely the way of unhealthy Fi dom would think. haha.. I’m kind of tired being surrounded by Infj and Intj for that reason..even if I love them. Maybe two Ni doms are too much for Isfp haha..

Hi! I'm an ISFP and I am really interested in business but as you said I'm looping between Ti amd Ni. Also in mbti it is often said that business is not good for ISFPs and they should lean towards the creative side for their career. So can you tell me if an ISFP can be good at business? Or should I try some other career? Thank you!

    • @TypeCastHeroes
      @TypeCastHeroes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Hey friend! We believe that typology should never put you in a box or limit you in any way. Anyone can be anything 🖤
So many things factor in to what career you should take, who you should marry, what degree you should get... it takes quite a bit of introspection to figure these things out. MBTI is an amazingly helpful tool, but we don't believe that it will give you a straight forward answer on some of those big question. The world is open to you 🌻

Idk in what place you are right now, but based on this comment, you were pretty new to this. Check out 4 sides of a mind theory. If you're interested in business, that's most likely your entj subconscious calling. And it's good, xsfps can be surprisingly capable of managing teams, just it can be draining for a long term. But developing this side of your mind is best path to happiness and balance. You just need to remember to make some time to hang out in your ego, too c: also whole gamma quadra has a thing for managing things, just for xsfps this tendency is more behind the scenes and not our priority in everyday life. But you can make it your priority, there's no "one right way" to use your type.
