I always make sure to think about how the name will sound when the child is 35 years old. Like I would never name a girl Posie because even though that would be ridiculously adorable on a four year old, it’s not gonna sound quite as good when she is an adult! But Mariposa is much more regal and I could see a strong grown woman being named Mariposa, and called Posie as a child.

If it was star, I’d go for Italian again with Stella. Though, once I finally learn Italian fully, I’ll probably dislike those as well. When you have knowledge of other languages, those names start sounding like words, at least for me. I couldn’t imagine looking at my kid and being like “come here Sun! Come here Moon!” Reminds me of those wolf memes.

I actually knew a little girl called Posy here in New Zealand. To be honest at the time I thought it was a bit strange for some reason. But it's actually quite lovely. There are a lot of such beautiful welsh names but to pronounce most correctly you would need to get the pronunciation of ll and ch
Here are some of my personal favourites! (If you want to learn how to pronounce it I would suggest looking up a vid in TH-cam as Google translate isn't very accurate)

I actually knew a little girl called Posy here in New Zealand. To be honest at the time I thought it was a bit strange for some reason. But it's actually quite lovely. The only problem I have is some people in New Zealand call other people "posers" if they think they're pretentious and unfortunately it reminded me of that.
