The station is named after nearby Yarraman Creek, which flows into Dandenong Creek. It's probably a corruption of "yarramun" where "yarra" means "river" in the local Indigenous language.

There is no date specified for the end of locomotives yet. My guess is not before the end of the year but we will see what the future holds. 👍😀
