🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁This is one of my top 3 choices. The maple comes through every time! If you are a new smoker like me this is a good one that pays back immediate dividends. To me its like a a new England pancake house in your pipe! I have no qualms giving 5 autumn leaves. no toungue bite, wasnt too wet, stayed lit well.
Question for you have you bought it in bulk? And if so do you notice any difference I've only had the 2 oz cans but I want to get a pound any feedback would be appreciated

I bought it once and it was super dry. Like ruined dry. Unsmokable. Did I just have a bad tin or is it normally dry?

Big, buttery pancake flavors. Lots of maple. Butterscotch, caramel, light rum and vanilla notes in there too. Very sweet, very tasty. A nice smoke on a summer afternoon.

The description you read made it sound like it was a very complex smoke. I'm a new pipe smoker and my first tobacco was Petersons de luxe navy rolls. A fine tobacco But i don't think I'm at the point where i can really appraisee it like veteran pipe smoker do. Ty for sharing your expertise with us trying to get into the hobby.

🍁🍁🍁🍁. This is definitely one of my favorite cased tobaccos. You can smell the sweetness of the flavorings as soon as you just crack the seal. I almost always find it too damp and have to dry it out before smoking. I have found if you buy the bulk blend it is not as wet as the tinned version. I think the bulk is a little more mellow with the flavoring as well. As long as you dry it a little it should take a light fairly easily. For me it’s the maple and vanilla that stand out and I only get the liquor flavor with the retro hail. It really is a pleasant experience. This is one of the only tobaccos I smoke where my wife can sit next to me and it doesn’t bother her at all. I highly recommend trying this blend.

Chris , Autumn evening is a wonderful blend . I love the Maple and The caramel. The red Virginias and black cavendish are perfect together. I love the sweet flavor reminds me of the fall leaves falling. I highly recommend this blend and give it 😊😊😊😊 it’s a all day a smoke . I just had to open and try Autumn Evening when I received my Blend club tobaccos a few months ago; the mapley goodness enticed me. I just picked up another tin last week at my local B&M.
🙂🙂🙂 I got a lot of rum and some raisin from the tin note too.
This was with this planned and it just seemed to burn too hot. For some reason I never get tongue bite with any blend but this one burned too hot to enjoy the flavour of it most of the time, even with the breath method
What I did taste I enjoyed it so I can't give it a bad rating

First time I tried this blend I didn't like it, but once I improved my technique (thank you, Muttnchop!) I was able to enjoy and appreciate the flavors. I seem to get more of a tangy rum/toasted brown sugar/dried fruit flavor than syrupy pancake, but I quite enjoy the sweetness and residual scent on the moustache. This scores highest marks on room note with the family out of anything currently in the cellar, and seems like a great blend for enjoying "outdoors amongst the public." I can see why it's on so many peoples' lists, esp for new pipers, and I'm glad I gave it a second chance. Aftertaste tends to be a little ashy in my experience, but that could be chalked up to user error. I think this will be a good blend to keep around.

🧇🧇🧇🧇 This is an excellent blend! I get the maple, I get the syrupy sweetness, and it finishes with the standard, but clean Cavendish flavor. I particularly enjoyed the retro-hale on this one. As the bowl progressed, the taste got sweeter to me. I agree with Muttnchop that this is a perfect spring/summer aromatic, even if it is named for autumn! Cheers!

😀😀😀😀😀Me and my wife both enjoyed this tobacco. Amazing smell when opened the tin, good moisture. Lit easy. No tongue bite. Very pleasant room note. Nice sweet flavor. For me even a slight citrus taste. My wife thought it was more creamy sweet, maple and vanilla. The first time we tried this, it was an old bulk sample, it was too dry, not much flavor. Definitely should get the tin. Would love to try one after it has been cellared.

I like the flavor and room note, but as everyone says, it comes wet in the tin. Got a fair bit of tongue bite too. For me, it’s a 3. 🔥🔥🔥 Not good enough to cellar, but good for the occasional smoke

Best by far- brown sugar, maple, Carmel room note and tastes. This is a new favorite. I will always make sure to have this one on hand as a go-to smoke.
Great to see you again Sir and thank you for such a great in-depth review, this sounds an interesting tobacco but just maybe over sweet for me but if I can get a sample from one of our fantastic tobacconists over here in the U.K. I’ll definitely give it a try.
I'm here because someone on a Facebook group posted about their anticipation for this video. Great review! I'm a newer pipe smoker (semi reformed from cigars). I just ordered this tobacco because it sounds like it will be a delight to smoke, and bonus points because my wife might enjoy being around me while I smoke it!

🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂 I don't smoke many aromatics, but this one comes with me any time I go camping. Any time of year. Tastes like pancakes when you were a kid. People tend to gravitate closer whenever I smoke it, so I assume the room note is pretty good. No complaints yet anyways.
Left some for a year in a jar and the casings seem to have lessened a bit. Still tastes great, just not quite as sweet nor as strongly case flavored. If the flavoring was overpowering for you, tuck it away for a while and try it again later.
🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐 One of my first and favorites. The only smoke I like better in this category is a mixture 3 parts Autumn Evening 2 parts Vanilla Cavendish.
Not big on aromatics, but I do enjoy Autumn Evening and keep it available all the time. Appreciate your Blend Club series, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

💥💥💥 Hammer of maple from the tin, hint of maple in the taste. Wouldn’t make my top 10 aros, but not tragic.

I picked up a tin of this last week. Finally got around to trying it today October 13. Sticker on bottom 7.24.23 Maybe it needs some shelf time. I'm not exactly sure, but it was a huge let down. Cracking the tin had a slight maple smell, more of a sorghum syrup. It is really dry. Touching it didn't leave much of a smell on my fingers. It did have a nice ribbon cut. Packed good. Stayed lit. Smoke had no real sweetness. No maple notes. I even chewed on a pinch... nothing! I really wanna like this. 😞An overwhelming majority of the reviews everywhere are positive. Even the lower ratings still agree that its sweet and tasty but they just don't like maple... So is something not right with my tin? Has anyone else had this experience lately with a newer tin?

I'm a noob piper. have a MM country gentleman cob....and i think i ruined it.
This, some of the molto doce, irish blessing....all tasted the same. Bad and "burned".
I grabbed a couple of stupid cheap pipes at the tobacco shop (they were 3 buck wood pipes).
This stuff tasted completely different. It was good.
I only have the one good pipe. I'm tight for funds and I've been smoke 3 or 4 bowls a day from it.
I'm gonna look up a way to hopefully clean the taste out. I do need a couple more. 20 bucks is a big deal to me at the moment.
I've seen some estate pipes of good quality I could get for about that price that are in good shape. A kaywoody being one.

Pancakes 🥞 I'll rate this in terms of 🥞 this blend was great I'm not huge on aromatics, but this blend got me between this and Eileen's Dream I fella could have breakfast any time of day.. 🥞🥞🥞🥞 out of a possible 🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞
As a new pipe smoker this is a 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻, when I open my pouch to pack my pipe I get a nice whiff of butterscotch!! Love it
😊😊😊😊. Good aromatic blend, perfect for novice pipers. Sweet and easy to work with. A desert blend, brown sugar flavor comes through for me, great for cooler weather. Only 4 emojis because the topping takes over tobacco taste altogether, thus I tend to mix it with other non aromatic blends.
You should honestly consider reading books for audible. Most relaxing voice ever!
🦊🦊. Guess I'm in the minority here, but I wasn't a big fan of this blend. For my tastes it was over-sweet and also burned hot.
I love bed it out of the tin so I got some in bulk and it did not taste anything at all like the tinned stuff , was disappointed in the bulk 😮
Would this blend be a redundent buy if I already have Maple Shadows from the same house?

I have to really be in the mood for this one to enjoy it - kind of like with pancakes (maybe a once per month kind of thing). That said, it is a yummy blend that behaves well and is what it says it is. So all in all, a very good blend.

Hello im new to pipe smoking.. i recently bought my first pipe and davidoff red mixture for tobacco.
Can any of you give me a review of this tobacco if you tried it? First time i smoked a pipe.. i didnt know what to expect. I thought i get a taste of the sweet smell of tobacco when i was smoking it.. i was disappointed because it tasted like a cigar. And one more question: if i want to try a new blend, should i buy a new pipe ?or should i make this pipe i already have my go-to in terms of trying blends
Great blend i give it 5 stars, i let it sit for a bit as sometimes is can be a bit moist. smoke in a dedicated pipe for a few bowls will taste like maple pancakes.

😊😊😊😊😊, this one I got because of the tin art. Loved it. I got the one once bag and then bought a 💩 ton of it. Why? Because I am new and was trying to ensure I had a lot of it as I am 8 months into this pipe journey.
Question, how long do you think aromatic tobacco lasts in a cellar? I think I messed up. I own 70 tins of aromatic blends. Smoke a tin a week, so I have a year and a half worth of them. 10 tins of Autumn Evening.... thanks
To me this is probably the best aromatic I’ve smoked. The very close second is Country Squire’s Old Toby.
I can’t yet give a rating because I just jumped into the hobby of tobacco and pipes. Received my first pipes yesterday, 11/17/23 (626ks and 315ks because I guess they’re good for different types of tobacco). Tonight I had my very first pipe full ever. In the 626, this blend is what I chose from my purchase of several other tobacco samplers, including blood red moon and apricots and cream. I also bought some nightcap and early morning pipe but I don’t think I’m ready for the English yet. I enjoyed this blend very much. If it can only get better from here than I’m excited to see where this will take me! I am certain I will agree with you I the future!

Too Maple flavored for me to enjoy very often. Not crazy about Maple enough. The Maple is the bus, as all the other flavors get washed out.

This one is very good. Tried it after this video. The maple is obvious in aroma. Don’t taste it much but the flavor is very pleasant. My mother who hates the smell of smoke really enjoyed the aroma this produced. I recommend smoking this with a corn cob pipe rather than my Brigham briar. Would certainly purchase this again.

😊😊😊 Maple and caramel and vanilla can easily tasted. Sweetness of Virginia is present. No tongue bites. Burns warm and keeps iit. Straight forward tobacco with not much complexity. 💜💜💜💜 I first got this blend in January 2022. It was a little too much on the palate being I was just starting to smoke a pipe. Jarred it and took a bowl here and there. To me it was super wet in the beginning and gradually dissipated over time. At this time for Blend Club it was perfect. Super Maple fragrance packed well in a Country Gentleman. Smoked this one after dinner and got the predominant Maple with some Vanilla and Caramel. Notes of a Cinnamon and Baking Spice on retro. No tongue burn nice aftertaste. Bready, Creamy smoke.output. Great for me not being an aromatic lover. Great Sweet Tooth pleaser. Room note is nice according to Mom!!! Nice change up. Getting a little Butterscotch note further into the bowl. Slow burn to the end very little moisture in bowl! Would buy again for nice change up or Sweet Treat. Now having a little over a year of pipe smoking curious to see if I get the burn on the tongue with a freshly open tin. Also smoked.in the morning with a Cup of Joe and it is a Little Piece of Heaven!!! Enjoyable and Pleasant. Thanks Blend Club!👍🏼
😊😊😊 not my favorite but it is smooth and for some reason I’m picking up some sort of spice even though I know there’s no Perique. Unlike other blends, this one causes me to sweat some. Not sure why but it does.
🥞🥞🥞 3/5, which is what I give most cased blends. Autumn Evening is a solid aromatic but by no means my favorite. I bought mine in bulk. I find that it is a moist blend that benefits from 15-30 minutes of drying time. Smoking this is typical of a lot of aromatics; I get a lot of that Cavendish flavor but no real taste of the maple. A little one-dimensional, and I don’t get any real taste of the Virginias. I’ll smoke the 2 oz that I bought but unlikely to restock.
As an alternate for folks looking for a more tobacco-forward blend with maple flavoring, I highly recommend Mac Beran’s Dark Twist. It’s an excellent blend with a combination of Virginias and cavendished Dark Fired Kentucky with a *very* slight maple casing. It’s on the opposite end of the casing/tobacco balance scale from Autumn Evening while still staying within the same flavor profile.
The way it taste while smoking it reminds me of burning leaves in the fall, not in a bad way, but there is a smell/taste to it that is reminiscent to yard work in the cooling seasons.

I had a sample bag of this that someone kindly gave me. I enjoy it on the second smoke, definitely had sweet maple syrup flavor in my mouth.
It’s a blend I would not have everyday. However, I would have it if I had a sweet tooth after dinner to satisfy or if I was smoking around family/friends on a back porch or around a bonfire! Need to get a tin of it soon
Got an oz of this from my local head shop to try, and my God, this might be my new standard. But I've only tried like 4 tobaccos so far, and I still have several thousand blends to go.

Thought I liked this one when I first started piping a few years ago, but it’s just too sweet. The topping is so overpowering that the aroma escapes a mason jar, I swear! The smell is so strong that if you order this one from SP all of your other tobaccos will surely be ghosted. Not a fan.
🧐🧐🧐 This is exactly what it says it will deliver. It is a very maple forward blend. and if that is all you want out of it then that is what you are going to pleasantly find. However, it is rather one dimensional and can be come a bit hot at times for me. It does have excellent mechanics and does not have the same goopiness that most aromatics have for me. I have to give this a middle of the road rating because that is what it is. Old reliable but nothing extraordinary.

I haven't had this one in a while, but listening to your review brought it all back. I'm gonna have to pick some up. I will say that like all aromatics it needs to be smoked slow to really appreciate the flavors. And it also benefits from being mixed with a healthy dose of perique 😁

I'm not typically a fan of aromatics, but I do recall Alan Harrelson from the Pipe Cottage describing this as a warm stack of pancakes... and he was right! I don't know that I'll make this a regular, but when the mood strikes, I'll be certain to return to it.
