- In today's video, we'll show you how to renovate a small stand-up hand drill.
What is a drill? - in general
The drill is a machine tool designed to drill holes with drills.
Reamers and reamers are used to make holes of more precise dimensions. Counterbores, etc. are used for countersinking.
Most often, tools are clamped into the drill using chucks of various types and sizes, the most common being a chuck up to 13 mm in diameter. Larger diameter drills are clamped with the Morse cone directly into the drill spindle. Initially drills were hand-operated, they were hand tools. Today's drills are usually driven by electric motors. To obtain a different number of revolutions, the drills are equipped with gearboxes and an electronic speed preselection.
The simplest tools for manual hole drilling are classic goblets. Other tools for drilling holes are also spinning wheels. There are also hand drills equipped with a drill thread, as well as mechanical hand drills driven by a crank using a gear transmission.
Single-phase electric motor-driven handheld portable drills are often equipped with a "hammer", which is a vibrating mechanism that facilitates the disintegration of masonry when drilling in concrete and other building materials. (source of wikipedia)

I’ve never seen a manual pillar drill so small, I wish 'd know about them before I bought my Dremel drill press accessory. A soulless bit of kit if there ever was one.
An excellent restoration as always, a real joy to watch and an awesome little machine. I think Im going to have to keep my eye open for one. I really like the finish, looked so much like the original and better than the really bright red you often see.
It definitely looks solid and I'm sure it will last many decades. May I ask if you will be using it? Or would you be selling it on? If it was me I'd keep it and get rid of the Dremel accessory.

I have a similar (but larger) drill. Above the splined drive shaft, where it entered the pressure-lever thing, there is a ball bearing, which acts as a (cheap, simple) thrust bearing.
I didn't see one in the take-down section of the video, but is there space for it?

First, no apology needed as your English is not bad at all. Second, thank you for your videos on restoring things. I wish I could find a small bench top drill like this one. I have been looking for one at flea markets but haven't found one yet. I make wood models of buildings, circuit boards and other things that need precise drilling with very small drill bits. I do have a small handheld drill bit holder for my small drill bit set, but drilling by hand is not always as good as I need it to be.
