I retrieved my phone after about 45 minutes of rain & started to worry I would to need a replacement. I began "Googling" water damage information & found your video. I watched it & was so relieved to see your demonstration. So far my phone shows no damage & I will check it again in the morning, but I feel confident it isn't water damaged. Your videos are very helpful!

I went to a public swimming pool yesterday with my iphone X which i have had for a year and a half, has absolutely no visible damage and has always had a screen protector and a case on it. Swam around with it in my zipper pocket mostly in a 2 feet kiddie pool with my daughter and for a few minutes in a 5ft pool. My phone did not do well. I had to call for a replacement. Apparently, according to Verizon and Assurion, water proofing decays over time. So when you get your phone new it can handle water far better than a year later. Good to know, would have been nice to know that earlier. Its all good tho, thats what insurance is for, lesson learned though. Better to not take chances.

The reason why he doesn't is cause the likelihood of the speakers being the only thing busted is very low. Water tends to ruin the whole phone not just speakers.
