    Wow I don’t know how exactly I found this but it seems exactly what we’re looking for. No monthly fees, clear reliable security camera, flood lights and the ability to talk through the camera and sound an alarm

      Hi Daryl, apologies for the tardy reply. There's a wired or wireless 2K Lorex model, which doesn't require a subscription fee to go back in time to see who was at your door (like Ring and Google)

    Thanks for the review Mark. Question for you, which is driving me nuts…. The home center has a nice big camera built right into the top of the home center. The home center connects to the Lorex home app. Does the home center not have a camera and ability to view the immediate area in front of the home center inside your house? The home center is not compatible with our new wireless doorbell from Lorex (which is annoying) but figured if we were able to use the home center to at least be able to communicate to our children inside the house from our Lorex app when outside of the house, that would be at least a side benefit. Otherwise this thing has been essentially useless for us…. If you know of any way to use the built in camera for anything other than face recognition, that would be helpful to know. I can’t figure it out. Thanks

      From Lorex:
      Yes, you can live stream the camera continuously.
      You will need to configure Screen Saver Setting and Security Setting:
      1.Go to Home Screen > Device Settings > Screen Saver Settings.
      -Disable the screensaver
      -Never in Display Time-Out.
      2.Go to Home Screen > Device Settings > Security Settings.

    Do you know what the typical battery life before re-charging is for the outdoor wireless cameras? Particularly interested in life of the batteries during the winter where it can go below zero degrees Fahrenheit. I realize the amount of motion detected will somewhat determine the life, but are we talking weeks or months? Thanks!

    I watched your review but did not get the answer I was looking for I wanted to know if the Lorax home center sounds in the event of an intrusion a loud siren or something

    • @MarcSaltzman
      @MarcSaltzman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi James. I asked the company. The Home Center has a chime that can be set based on person/vehicle/motion detection and that the volume of the Home Center can be adjusted, however there is no siren that will activate on the Home Center itself. Depending on the cameras paired to the Home Center, those can have a siren that can be set for motion detection or active via the app.

      from Lorex: These are battery-operated cameras (U471), as a result, the camera will go to sleep to conserve battery. Connecting the camera to wired power, only charges the battery, unfortunately, does not change it to a wired camera.

    I recently purchased a Lorex package, the wired 4K cameras & the floodlight WiFi camera. I haven’t been able to install the wired cameras as of yet, but the floodlight is installed, I don’t think the picture quality is all that good, it’s a lil blurry but it’ll do, my issue is this thing goes off for every little movement, I’ve set it to the lowest number in motion detection & still a month flys by & I’ll get 30 notifications at night, it’s very annoying. Is there a way to fix it so that flying bugs aren’t constantly setting it off?

  • @keslee7036
    @keslee7036 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi @Marc Salzman, biggest problem is that there is no motion activated siren. Other companies like Arlo integrates motion-activated siren feature. It's not enough just to have a remotely triggered siren that you need to manually turn on. If you are asleep at night and someone breaks into your home and your camera picks up motion and sends a notification chime to your phone, that's not enough. What would be good is that it actually triggers an alarm when motion is detected in your home or for window sensor if a window is opened that wakes you up and scares off the burglar. Absolutely unacceptable for such Advanced Camera security system not to have such a basic feature. Really would love Lorex but this is disappointing 😞
