being an ex Melbournian now living in rural Victoria, Erwan you really nailed it and I felt like I could smell (memories) the ontent of your videos, from the meat pie with sauce, salty air down the coast, coffee brewing in small lanes and the crazy busy markets cluttered with fresh produce. How we take so much for granted. Great job mate, I hope to see you back in Melbourne soon
too bad you didn't show south melb market... they are known to have the best deli sections in melbourne! i always go there after work, enjoying my scones and oysters :)...but great to see your exploration! hope to watch on your next episodes mate!
WOW! This guy really know what he was doing when it comes to Australian Street food and Markets, He nailed it! never been to Melbourne markets but it's pretty much similar in other parts of Australia. I live in the Goldcoast but I go to Byron Bay market, Brisbane and sunshine coast.
I must say I really enjoy your style of video alot more than others - soft, understated, honest, laid-back. Vs alot of other channels where the hosts are always so "ON" all the time. It's easy to watch your content especially for information gathering.
I have been watching so many travel channels on youtube and you are the first I've ever seen to actually come the the country I live in, it is quite interesting to get an outsiders view on my country of birth.
Wow finaly someone did this subject justice. The food market culture in Melbourne is something is something i actually went to often back when i lived there.
I just wanted to thank you for how well you presented the Dandenong Market. I've lived in the area my whole life and it's a beautiful place despite what a lot of Melbournians say. Great good and even better people.
Short Term Rental Co I come from Melbourne and it is an awesome city. So much to do, see and taste!! We go to the markets and city a lot just to keep find new food places. You will have a wonderful time!!
I so love your personality dude. Handsome and intelligent yet so humble. Keep up the good work Erwan. You're doing great. Ur vlog is a dose of happy pill. A mixture of everything. Funny (with solenn and nico), informative and entertaining. God bless!!!
Ok but there is this soup in Footscray market at the store right across from the station next to a dollar store and ask for the seafood soup. It's heaven I love it. Get it everytime
So glad you've enjoyed your time here in Melbourne! I was born and primarily raised here, however also grew up a couple of years in Davao (my mother is Filipino), and I absolutely miss it over there in the Philippines! Can't wait to be back to visit next year and enjoy some delicious durian, adobo, lechon, and ube ice cream! :D
Being a Melbournian for a decade I still haven’t tried some of the café’s you featured. I think it’s time for me and my husband to explore Melb a bit more 😊 Erwan,, You missed the famous Bratwurst in Queen Victoria Market😋
My brother is staying in Australia since oct 30. Thanks for this vid, might help him a lot. I’m such a fan yours, enjoy your vacation with Ate Anne, looking forward to your travel vids.
Hey Erwan, I discovered your channel last night mate with chicken inasal vid! It was insane I loved it then I click on your channel and the first thing that popped up was your most recent vid and it said you’re in Melbourne! I’m half filo and half Australian, was born and raise here so I’m glad to see your enjoying it here mate! Take care on the rest of your journey man!
Good thing I watched Melbourne Overnight series after my heavy breakfast. Damn it Erwan!!! All those "ooohs and aaahs" each time you eat!!! Plus that tomato and burrata, I'm craving!!! Ugggh.
Great video Erwan! As someone who lives in Melbourne, I've only been to Queen Victoria Market about 4 times. It's a really great place but I just havent been there much
I live just across the queen vic market. you can see the huge queen victoria market sign on the rooftop of the market buildings. Come on Sunday / Tuesday near the closing time to get the best deal because they are closed on Monday and Wednesday (hence, they have to get rid of the produces). The doughnuts are the best one in melbourne (heck, in the world) and it's only $1,2 a piece!!
Great video, well researched and if you ever come back to Melbourne you should come for the AFL Grand Final and a good Aussie BBQ (influenced by international flavours)
A real traditional lamington is chocolate and coconut. I've never heard of a strawberry lamington, and I've lived in Australia all of my life and grew up eating lamingtons regularly.
you need to connect with some locals so they can show you the real treasures around melbourne next time you are there, its one of those places where you will be making endless new discoveries the longer you stay, its such a spread out city with so many unique nieghborhoods etc
Umm, just a slight correction: Lamingtons aren't a pastry, they're a cake & the chocolate lamingtons are the best especially if they have whipped cream in them.🤤
Your most recent video in Australia, The sound was terrible! I'm assuming you didn't realize this,So I wanted to let you know. And yes I love your work. Keep up the great videos.
Just saw your videos...and been watching it especially your cooking and travel abroad. You are soooooo relax and spontaneous...sometimes witty. One thing thou is the blurting out of the word $hit which is sounding out in our living room. Thou it happens one in a thousand words..in a home which that word is not allowed is like a little off. Over all...it is a fresh face. Great show. Keep going. Question, do you read a script...if you do...you have s talent of not showing it in the camera.
The donuts at Vic Market are great but Preston Market make the best ones IHMO. My family has been going there for over 25 years and they have never let us down. There are quite a few different food stalls too. You should have done South Melbourne Market instead of Dandenong Market TBH. Closer to the CBD and it's a fine market in its own right.
Your video and tour guide are so awesome!!!! One better than the other! You simply upgrade the concept of TH-cam videos and traveling and eating!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Great job as usual- passionate as it should be 😉
I'm a huge fan of doughnuts!! And also I like the diversity of food in their market, like how you tried doughnuts + oyster! How about make a recipe on oyster doughnut, ey? Lol 😂
At Sth. Melbourne, you missed out on their dim sims. Decades later, they are selling to retailers in bulk. (Bigger than a caravan). I hope whoever is making them are giving a % to originators, But I've tasted the two kinds and Sth. Melb market is sticking to their traditional recipe.
being an ex Melbournian now living in rural Victoria, Erwan you really nailed it and I felt like I could smell (memories) the ontent of your videos, from the meat pie with sauce, salty air down the coast, coffee brewing in small lanes and the crazy busy markets cluttered with fresh produce. How we take so much for granted. Great job mate, I hope to see you back in Melbourne soon
I’m filipino and I’ve lived in Melbourne my whole entire life. Good to see you showing people what Melbourne is about
I love how you narate this video erwan. So relaxing to the ears. I like the tone of your voice. Amazing video!

A real traditional lamington is chocolate and coconut. I've never heard of a strawberry lamington, and I've lived in Australia all of my life and grew up eating lamingtons regularly.
I had strawberry ones in the 70s in Essendon North. They were the best.
I think they've reversed it, a jam icing and a chocolate between the two sponge layers
Thanks for this, Erwan!
you missed out on going to the south Melbourne market!!! that market is amazing
I agree and commented about that too! I live just around the corner from South Melbourne Market.
I super loved your vlog, Erwan!😍
