But I tell you one thing to this day can’t not one of these LA niggaz Fux with me cause they all about running in packs but you call em out by name 7-10 they fold, Even my NYC FAM they look at a little wide eyed when I first told em Bodymore or Bmorecareful nah mean we had the term savage way before chiraq! But my mother and my pops weren’t married or together because he and my uncles are all still in the game in West Bmorecareful. My mom wanted a better life so she worked during the day and went to night school to become a registered nurse now how many people that live in the Baltimore area just stay on their 4 block radius? Not nobody trying to make it out. That’s that white folks thinking that you a brother from Baltimore and a sister from DC ain’t ever gonna cross paths it wasn’t like that in the 70’s in their day that Bmore vs. DC didn’t start until the crack era. During the Black Power Movement it wasn’t like that people from the chocolate city triangle before you get south of Virginia all mingled with love for each other. Anything else you want to question about my pedigree? My momma moved us wherever the money was I even lived on the island of Barbados from 82-84. Just cus you ain’t never been to DC don’t mean every other brother has the same life story as you. Sheet in LA She had to drive an hour every morning from East LA to the WESTSIDE where the schools were better from 7th grade until I graduated and that is NORMAL ACTUALLY COMMON CUS NOTHING IF YOU REALLY WANNA GET OUT YOU GOTTA GET OUT BUT THAT DON’T MEAN SHE DIDNT SEND ME BACK EVERY DAMN SUMMER SO I COULD HAVE SOME KIND OF RELATIONSHIP WITH MY FATHER, Don’t assume like white folks do that we all have the same story cus that makes an ass out of you unless you know or knew me and my family. Anything else you I owe you????
The reason why The Wire had such a good cast was because it was never about fiction. That show wanted nothing but show things as they are in Baltimore, and it´s characters look so so genuine because they´re telling us their story.

I met Snoop once. She came into a North Baltimore liquor store where I was working while the Wire was still being aired (2006-ish), but I did not have HBO and had not seen any of it yet. I remember she asked for a bottle of expensive champagne that was behind the counter, and possibly a bottle of Hennessy too. When I rung her up she mumbled "don't you give discounts to movie stars?" To which I replied "if you're a movie star, you can afford full price... but what movie you in?" "The Wire." "That's not a movie, that's a TV show." She did not like that response, but she paid for the bottles and left! 🤣🤣

“Why care if your mother and father don’t care nothing about you?” This... the nuclear family guides children. Snoop recognizes and understands this, and she explains why she made her choices because of that. Incredible.
the nuclear family is a capitalist construct designed to isolate people from their extended family. without grandparents, aunties, uncles to help raise children, parents are overworked and exhausted. they rely on consumer products and services to keep their kids fed, entertained and educated. the nuclear family is a fragile concept and relies on gender roles to be strictly upheld. it doesn't work which is why communities decay, why children feel isolated, why they seek belonging in the wrong places. “it takes a village” is some of the truest words ever spoken.

What a story, she been through some turbulent life struggles. I’m hoping she’s doing better after all of that. We see her on the Wire and she was so real. Good luck and we hope to see you in more gigs soon.
If you've seen the wire it looks so weird to me watching them jus walk down Baltimore streets without shooting up the whole block 😂😂😂
All streets are rough but Baltimore is a difficult place to grow up there's no love really in my city very sad
Canary Yo you ain’t lie born Columbia Maryland but raised Bmorecareful till the ALPO wars in Dc started happening my grandma sent me my brother and moms to south central of all places and every summer my grand parents made me come back to Baltimore and every summer I had to make new friends cus the ones from summer past was dead or locked up. Respect OG!💯💯💯
@@kingrasoe3270 your mom made u move to cali cuz of shit that was happening in dc ? Baltimore like 45 to a hour aeay from us
719 YunGn no my whole family is in Dc, Baltimore, Philadelphia. My pops side of the family is from Baltimore and I was born in Columbia Maryland. My Grandparents lived in the sticks in Spencerville if you must no my whole pedigree.
@@kingrasoe3270 what part of Columbia u from
The reason why The Wire had such a good cast was because it was never about fiction. That show wanted nothing but show things as they are in Baltimore, and it´s characters look so so genuine because they´re telling us their story.
I miss Michael K. Williams' show called the Black Market, that show had great potential. HBO should pick it up and renew it
Never heard of it. What was it about?
@@markusk1015 Drug runners, car thiefs etc.
Almost done watching the show. One of the best shows I've ever seen.
I love when ever she says "dew"
she carried his casket RIP MKW
Wow! Her saying that her and her real mother were in jail at the same time but she did not know her. That's unbelievable. I could not imagine, and she has become an outstanding actress and young women.
P.s. Your hair look good girl!
And then she got popped by the feds and ratted on everyone
I am 6 episodes in the fourth season and I am obsessed !!!!
I believe Hollywood should’ve given her second chance, she got so much talent 🙌
You never know who does drugs. Rip Omar. I wish you left that sh*t alone.
Everyone thinks they can handle it. Just be in your kid's minds from birth teaching them the right way!! It's never too early. 😣
@@bjwilliams yeah, I have always been afraid of drugs because I know that nobody is strong enough. So I stay away. Only weed for me and even that I try to be mindful because I believe it can mess with your brain and also create an addiction. When you see how people lose their lives and end up on the streets becoming prostitute or just slaves because of it. No thank you, not for me!!
“Why care if your mother and father don’t care nothing about you?” This... the nuclear family guides children. Snoop recognizes and understands this, and she explains why she made her choices because of that. Incredible.
Damn.
the nuclear family is a capitalist construct designed to isolate people from their extended family. without grandparents, aunties, uncles to help raise children, parents are overworked and exhausted. they rely on consumer products and services to keep their kids fed, entertained and educated. the nuclear family is a fragile concept and relies on gender roles to be strictly upheld. it doesn't work which is why communities decay, why children feel isolated, why they seek belonging in the wrong places. “it takes a village” is some of the truest words ever spoken.
@@apseudonym okay pal. Look to the rest of the world who believes firmly in the nuclear family, who stay together, work together, and die together. I bet using youtube in china would be fun right now, commie.
@@steezyfeet420 What are you talkin about? Nuclear family means, Father, Mother, One or two kids. Thats it. It certainly aint the worst but you cant argue that having a huge family with grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc... doesnt have some large community support benefits.
And you come at that argument wildly callin the dude a commie lmao. Wtf wrong with you?
@@AWMK101 communists in the chat?
When I was watching the show and Snoop came on I said ain’t no way in hell this actress is just an actress I knew she grew up in that environment I ain’t from Baltimore from LA but I can tell when someone is the real deal and ain’t just an actor playing the part.
“Yeah it’s Too Late, BOP!!!!”
That description sent me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
People talk about the hoods but I must say nyc, Atlanta, Florida, Carolina are the hardest but Baltimore is tough hood, raw, projects
Ain't no place tougher than NYC. Maybe the west coast but NYC is the worst place ever
It's a weird dynamic how most people love The Wire, but hate Baltimore at the same time.
These comments prove my point. 😂😂
That's how it be. Nobody likes danger

Vote for whoever lie to you the best. you owe aleagence to no one.
With all the hype I watched The Wire. Actually thought extremely overrated, basically left wing, and kinda sucked.

A brilliant interview.
RIP MKW a.k.a Omar
I was pissed how they had marlo play on power as a hatian dude. I thought maybe he would've played similar to what he did on the wire. I hope snoop joins the cast.
I thought the Marlo guy was the worst actor in the bunch. I could’t believe a word he said, just seemed fake
Did u see him on person of interest? He played the number two to the guy who played m'baku in black panther.
Third Ear Planet Radio he is haitian
I didn't like the dude he played on the 2Pac movie, lol seemed ridiculous compared to Marlo
