Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind-off is a wonderful way to bind-off any form of ribbings but is particularly favored by knitters for a 1x1 and a 2x2 rib stitch. It was popularized by Jeny Staiman in 2009 and thus received its name though it would probably be better called double-decrease bind-off. Either way, it creates a super stretchy edge.

As always, your videos are so easy and clear! I especially liked when you explained about the YO needing to make a complete loop around the needle.....that totally makes sense, and now I know I'll remember that! Thanks a bunch!

yeah...i try to find out these kind of memory hooks for myself because otherwise I can't really remember it either! And why not share these with the world, eh? :)

Used this on one of my first projects but it was different. I'll have to go back and check. Thanks for the clear instructions.

Great video. Your explanations are very clear. This is one of my favorite bind-off for toe-up socks.

Is this a good bind-off to use with very loosely knit lace?

that's impossible for me to say because lace is a veeery wide field. If you are concerened, I'd rather knit a swatch and see if it really looks and stretches the way you want.

    Hallo Norman,
I try to learn the bind-off by book. 👎
Now, I do it once more and I‘m sure I understand the technic. Thanks a lot and have a good time!!

If ever I need to figure out a technique I'm unfamiliar with, I now always come here to your tutorials. They're so great: perfect combo of detail, clarity, the reason why it works, and clear demonstration. Thanks!

Very interesting bind-off. It looks like a great option if you don't care about getting a getting a flared edge.
