    Thank you, I love the idea of only stretching the purl! 😊

    This will be the perfect bind off for a cowl I'm making that can be pulled up over your head like a hood. I was afraid the regular technique for this bind off would flare too much, as has happened to me in the past. Thanks for sharing! I'm def a subscriber now.

    I love how you hold your yarn! I'm a self taught continental knitter and I sort of throw my purl stitches. I'm going to try your way. (P.S. A fellow NYer, Dutchess County)

    Love the modified bind off. It gives a much neater edge to the bottom of my top-down sweater and cuffs. Thank you.

    I only yarn over every other stitch, and that seems to work well for me.

      Oh excellent mod... what i like about this method is the tidyness at the top of the knit columns : )!

    I really like your voice and your explanations, so I subscribed! I think I will try your modification of Jeny's bind off. Stretchy, but not too stretchy so it looks neat and will create a good edge for the bind off on the bottom of my sweater. Thanks.

    This is awesome, thank you! I've been searching for the perfect bind off for a top down sweater, and tubular 2×2 in the round is just warping my brain. I'm also concerned about having enough give for my hips. This seems like a great compromise!

    Such a good demo. I’ve always skipped the first part because it flares out, and I was doing my purls wrong. Next time I’ll do it this way.

    I did a bind off of my first Laxo sock using a regular bind off. I was sure I could do a loose bind off. Well, it did fit, but barely. I decided to undo the front half of the sock’s bind off and redo it, since I had thankfully left a pretty good tale. I then did the modified version of this bind off on that front half of the sock. And…it was perfect! I learned a lesson there.

    I just finished a sweater where I needed to use Jeny’s super stretch bind off on the sleeve cuffs. (The yarn I used is Letti Lopi which doesn’t have any stretch.) The problem was that the sleeve cuffs have cables, so I didn’t want the bulk of that bind off method on those knit cable stitches. Here you are to the rescue! Great video! Subscribed and sending you so much gratitude 🙏🏼💖

    This is exciting. Thank you. I have extend the rib on last year's baby hat, to get more wear out of it, but I've done the cast off twice and it's still quite tight. I am going to have another go using this stretchy cast off.

      @sandyduncan3832 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LauraNelkin I did it today. It was difficult at first, until I got the hang of it, then it was easy. The cast off is nice and stretchy, and best of all, it fits the baby, so we can get another winter out of the hat. Thanks so much for sharing this technique.

    Thanks for this! a less super stretchy bind off will be my next favorite sock bind off - I've not been totally pleased with the flaring results of the super stretchy version.

    Thank you Laura. It never occurred to me to modify it. I'm binding off some fingerless mitts and the JSSBO just flared too much I'm going to undo it now and use your mod.

    Thanks for the great mod Laura, I do find jssbo just a bit too flared so I’m excited to try this. What is the reason for slipping the two stitches individually instead of together?

    Okay I’m gonna be the first to say that I’m a tubular bind off convert. Totally thought it was a faff. Now I hate everything else for sleeves or cuffs. I do recognize it’s not right for everything but now I make the time for it! I love how stretch this bind off is!!

    It looks way neater when you first bring the third stitch over the middle one, then over the first one.
    You method makes it a bit clotty
