Why weren't they charged with assault? Yes prime question here. Why aren't they being investigated for purjury? Why aren't the people who furnished minors alcohol being charged for those crimes? Why aren't their parents being charged for ChildA-neglect for the ones under 18 who were intoxicated on the river that day? I'm from Wisconsin. We have a culture of parents hosting and it's typically reasonable. This is the one that really needs to be made an example of because EVERYTHING IS WRONG on this whole case!! Everyone is guilty who was there. Perhaps not of murder but none the less criminal negligence at the very least. Assault for the boys definitely probably also that witch Madison.

None of the drunk kids touched Miu until he started hitting women and stabbing people. Miu pulled his weapon and hit a woman prior to any drunk kid touching him. He pulled out his knife and then hit a woman because some drunk kids were making fun of him AND two women touched him and told him to "go". He stabbed a 110 pound woman that was not touching or attacking him. He stabbed another guy (twice) that did nothing more than place a hand on his back and try to talk to him. Why isn't anyone talking about how this girl Madison approached this guy and essentially started real hostilities? Is she a super citizen or does she get extra protection because she's a woman? Most sexist court case I've heard in quite awhile. Someone hitting a woman isn't a reason to start a fight it's a method desperate guys use to get it in and something women use to milk super citizen benefits of not having to be accountable for their actions. If any grown adult thinks they can be a hero on the river like that woman, she can be a hero in the court room too not hide like she's guilty as sin. I just want to know why didn't Madison walk away why did she approach a long with anyone else? The question to them needs to be asked as much as anyone wants to ask it to Mr. Miu.

I've never met Madison Cohen, but I don't like her role in this. I wish we could have seen/heard her testimony. She seems to be pivotal, (at least in everyone's narrative). Mr. Miu lied in the interrogation, because he thought/knew he was in trouble. The teens lied on the stand because they thought they could be in trouble. Mr. Karlson said he yelled "stop", because he thought he could be in trouble for doing nothing and /or for sending his sons into the melee. Mr. Miu seemed to be the most credible of all those who took the stand. Deep down, they all have to feel some level of guilt for what happened that day. Things escalated, the man being bullied had a knife and used it, to everyone's complete surprise. Seriously wondering how far it would have gone if the knife hadn't been introduced. If I am a juror, I feel terrible for Isaac's mother, but I would have to return with a verdict of not guilty. There was no proof of intent. No one can read the defendant's mind. He used no words. The mob used too many words.

The prosecutor was pure trash. A bunch of drunken entitled teens who ganged up on Nic, terrorized and physically assaulted him not to mention bringing other people into the fight by falsely accusing Nic of being a child predator. The behavior exhibited by these teens is absolutely APPALLING AND DISGUSTING!!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR IN ANY SITUATION!!!!
The parents of these kids should feel ashamed of themselves because they failed as parents. Their kids have absolutely no ability to exhibit compassion towards another human being.
As someone who has experienced being physically assaulted by a group of people as a teen, it is terrifying. I wish I had a weapon to protect myself. Nic Miu was terrified. For the prosecution to say he was angry is ridiculous. There is no evidence of anger. I would say that the prosecution should stick to the truth but they haven't told the truth the entire trial. They stated that Nic should've walked away but what they don't recognize is that the teens were in the wrong from the jump. Not one of those teens have taken responsibility for all the crimes they committed before Nic actually defended himself with his knife.
The fact that nobody told the cops about Nic looking for "little girls" YET they use this fictitious statement as a justification for their horrendous behavior. The prosecutor overlooks all of the crimes committed by the teens and just makes the flippant comment that Nic could've just "walked away". That was not the case.
Everyone is focusing on Nic's lies but what about all the lies told by the drunken teens who continued filming the bullying and physical assault of someone who had done nothing wrong.
I respect the defense attorney for stating the obvious: how many people assaulted Nic before Nic finally took action to defend himself.

Also just adding. I'm from Wisconsin and I work in Europe. I have since my early 20's and in Europe because they don't have gun culture like we do they fight a lot more. Any large city in Europe on a weekend night you will see far more males whether they are 18 or 48 talking and shoving contesting with each other. It's also a lot more common for someone to use a knife there to defend themselves. Granted this defendant grew up in Romania a nation where I've spent quite a bit of time personally, it makes sense to me he pulled a knife like he did. If it was someone who grew up here, they would have reached for their gun if they had it. Shooting someone is another story but if they were on their back in the water like that they would have drawn it easily. I think people who think he's so bad for stabbing a kid in the heart is just ridiculous. Nobody in that position has the time to think they're going for the heart. They're thinking get the knife in them faster than they can do whatever they will do to me. A 17 year old male is a child but a 17 year old male has been no stranger to the wars of history and the wars of today. A 17 year old male can be a scary match for a 40+ male depending on various things. People who say a child a single child let alone a group of over 10 isn't a threat is completely stupid and not using their heads. 40 year old men don't play sports like 17 tear old males and Mr. Miu has had bypass surgery so simply elevating his heart rate could be enough to kill him, especially standing in water where he could just as easily drown if he loses his strength.

    The state is criminally negligent:
The state, and all the states, over the oast 60 years, employed people whose caseloads were 50% related to the drug they were going home to use for recreation - stress relief, a medical necessity.
They then waged war on the only competitor very well known to MELLOW the stressed, thus a valid recreational, thus medicinal substance - cannabis.
The state has been criminally negligent for 60 years by ensuring alcohol related violent crime - 100s of millions, including the sexual abuse of 10s of millions of children - would continue as we see here.
Had the state acted wisely and within the bounds of the Constitution, cannabis would have been made the state's and the nation's recreational drug of choice as a matter of public safety.

That many people attacking me , the case is coming out or any other item I can use to protect myself.

Yeah yesterday. Charges for the deceased now include in addition to the original first degree intentional homicide, second degree intentional and first and second degree reckless homicide. For the injured they added on second degree attempted homicide and first and second degree recklessly endangering safety.

They chose to ask the jury be instructed in a lesser incuded offense. If you look at the murder statutes all types of illegal killings are grouped, even manslaughter. It is not adding charge per se. It happens a lot.

Typical Twin Cities BS. It's not even about blue politics. I went to school in Madison there it's blue but legit. Twin Cities be like, make everyone who's normal the bad guy no matter what. Everyone else is a victim no matter what. In Wisconsin the only negative thing anyone really says about Minnesota is that you can't tell it like it is or you'll get the angry pitch fork wielding mob on you. I live in St. Paul now by the way. That's why I'm saying these things. Never lived a place with so many stupid laws. Like maybe Europe where I work in the summer months has pretty stupid laws sometimes but Minnesota is really in a league of its own. I live on Grand Avenue and have for the last 10 years. The police here just love encouraging J-walking and people just wandering around the middle of the street. It doesn't matter if it's the first snow and ice roads of the year some pudgie lady from Edina or Eden Prairie always gets the right of way on my street.

The right hand or left hand confusion can be explained with people who suffer from dyslexia. To assume that Madison and the other witness is lying because they were having problem’s deciphering what hand should have been debunked by the prosecution as a form of dyslexia.
Also it is possible to get smack in the face with glasses and not have any bruising or marks. For example I was smacked hard in the face where my glasses flew approximately 10 ft off my face and I did not have bruising or a mark because the glasses took the force. Not everyone bruises as easily as others. It depends on the direction of the smack and if it hits soft tissue areas. Look at Nic’s face no bruising on his face either and he was clearly smacked in the face for hitting the blonde woman. That’s not bullying that’s defending a woman against a man who took it upon himself to smack a person in the face.
It’s ridiculous for the defense to keep saying Nic was being attacked by 13 people. This was a tubing trip so yes there were many people around because the teens were calling for help. Nic made the first approach and the screaming and yelling can also be explained as nervousness on the teens part, they clearly were uncomfortable with a man running up on them, swirling his hand close to them and even underneath their tubes. Any one, of any age would feel that to be creepy and be upset and proceed to yell for him to leave them alone.
I never saw a person who was scared, what I witnessed from the tape was a man who was mad and embarrassed and lost his temper by plunging a knife deep into the victims to cause bodily injury and death. What Nic should have been concerned about was walking and running on rocks with shoes that were falling apart and causing him injury to his chest area, not about a cell phone that no one seemed concerned about about, and a mask that could have been found once the teen tubers passed by. A mask and his bruised ego was not worth a human life, but Nic felt it was and therefore I feel he is guilty of the murder of Issac and the attempted murder of the others who were stabbed, two others severely.

Why did he stab so many people? It doesn’t even look like anyone punched him in the video. Why did he stab the 110 pound girl, & the guy in the jean shorts trying to break it up? Just because there’s a group of people doesn’t mean they’re all trying to attack him. I think he’ll be guilty of stabbing some of those kids.

You must deal with facts not emotions and the prosecutor failed on the facts.
Though I don't agree with his lying to law enforcement I completely understand why someone would automatically think to do this.
In today's world the real victim is prosecuted, and the criminal is rewarded.
