It’s very traumatic to see, more then a bullet wound. I’m thinking body shot, obviously head wounds are different. Stab wounds cause a lot of internal damage and can look horrible on the outside or like a small cut. If the teens didn't call the old man a rapist he wouldn't have no need to walk up to them. If the teens didn't scream out loud and bully him the other group would have never came and escalated the situation. If those women didn't come and get into the old man's face threatening him without knowing what the teen boys were saying his true or not then he wouldn't have punched the bitch in the face. If they wouldnt have ganged up on him and continue to bully and physical assault him he wouldn't have had the need to pull out his knife and stab then.
The teens started the whole situation and they are the reason their friend is dead. That man wasn't bothering them they had no reason to call him a rapist. They should be charged for their friends murder

Amazing this kid lived. Seems like he got the best Dr to save his life.
I believe diagrams should have been implemented, so that jurors could grasp the depth of injuries
No it shouldn’t Google it you doing too much they Parents should of taught these lil chumps manners they all bought it on themselves I have no sympathy for stupidity cause now they playing victim 🤷🏽♂️
They see real life pictures, they don’t need diagrams. Victims literally pulled their shirts up and showed them on the stand too, which is something I hadn’t seen before. And I don’t think it matters in the long run, they aren’t deciding if the wounds were bad or not. They are deciding if this guy did ANY wound or not. While I appreciate jurors having as much info as possible, I think it’s easy to overwhelm them as well. You have to have a good balance of enough info but not too much. It can cause them to over think or misunderstand things. And they’re already there not being paid, in a fairly long trial, they want it over with as soon as possible. Going over unnecessary info can just make jurors irritated.
@Sara-xk1ns A picture or scar doesn't show all the intricate inner workings of the body. The jury no doubt got lost in this testimony and more than likely didn't understand the verbiage the surgeon used. The point is to help them fully understand as best they can. Without oversimplification, they won't grasp the seriousness of their injuries. Injuries can speak to the intent of the person inflicting them. For example, AJ's injuries were a result of the defendant stabbing inward near his pelvis and ripping the knife upward. That's very different from a quick stab in the torso. The prosecutor needs to do better if he wants a conviction.
@@lindseyyoung9149You are correct.
@@lindseyyoung9149 I think you missed the point.
It does not matter how serious the wounds were. That is unnecessary information. The wounds have already been covered.
How extensive the wounds are, is irrelevant to the case. The attack victims guilt depends on whether his actions were justified, not how severe the injuries were.
It would be overwhelming the jury with unnecessary information.

To be fair, I worked with an orthopedic group of doctor's and some of them would be on call for emergency cases that came in through the ER, but they also had their clinic where they saw patients who would schedule elective surgeries. The doctors weren't "trauma" surgeons, but they performed surgeries deemed traumatic.

Seems like the defense was trying to imply AJ pushing Miu had an impact on the stab wound, but the surgeon informed that was actually probably what saved his life since it reduced the trajectory and intensity of the wound.

@@melb1215 Defense atty was asking specifically about the trajectory of an injury changing based on what a person is doing (AJ pushing Miu). 21:25 you can see he is clearly caught off guard and his flow is totally thrown off as he realizes that statement is NOT beneficial to his client and he cannot use it against AJ, as his actions are actually saved his life. There was no gotcha or benefit to that line of questioning because of the surgeon’s analysis of the outcome.
Doesn't matter if it was better or worse for AJ because none of that is the point of the trial. The lawyers just making the point that the way injuries occur are dynamic so the actual injuries created during a fight is not necessarily solely because of the intent of Miu.
Yeah, you could see the wind go out of his sails when the doctor totally undercut his point by saying this obvious reaction to push your assailant away almost certainly saved his life even if it might have caused a longer wound. Though even that is highly questionable since the murderer seemed intent on doing as much harm to these people as he could so it is not out of the question that he pulled up to try to gut him.
@@alwa6954 what the doctor is saying is.... if AJ wasn't pushing Miu when he got stabbed the knife would have gone deeper into his abdomen & he would have never made it to the hospital. This defense lawyer is pissing me off. Miu was not falling backwards when he was ripping his knife up AJ's abdomen. He intentionally pulled his arm up AJ's abdomen like he was gutting a deer
Exactly!
Exactly what I see also!!
Yeah, actually, he was. He stabbed out while A J was right in front of him and shoving. The knife went in and as Miu fell back his arm and the knife moved upward and out with the momentum. You need to open your eyes to watch the video.
Absolutely! AND Miu knew exactly where on the body to hit each of them to do the most damage. AND he never tried to scare them away first by warning them. If I were police, I'd seriously be looking into Miu's history to see if he's killed anyone else in the past.
The bald attorney is so apparent with his agressive demeanor. The jury sees his bullying of witnesses
The surgeon is very intelligent and so young. He was a gift to those teenagers
I worked for 11 years as a discharge specialist for the trauma team in a Level I Trauma center/teaching hospital. The surgeons, nurses and EMT’s and Life Flight nurses are AMAZING like this man.
Why does the attorney questioning the doctor sound like he’s 15!?
Because he is horrible
Because they picked his name out of a Cracker acker Jack box 😂
Right! A mess
Hahah. I was thinking that.
So regular people who don't speak or understand medical lingo can get the picture
What an awesome surgeon. Thank God for doctors like him❤️
Thank you for your contirbution to the community as a medical profession Dr. Meyer.

Listening to this prosecuting attorney is agonizing. A trauma surgeon talking to this guy is like someone explaining to a dog why it needs to go outside to pee...
That tickled me😂😂
This surgeon is a LEGEND.

The defense attorney is so freaking annoying 😒 On the flip side, this surgeon is plain amazing!!!
You're annoying
Impressive, highly intelligent surgeon. These young adults were really fortunate to have such a great surgeon.
These ER doctors are the people we should look at like the real Rock Stars in our society. This doctor is a dick-swinging stud for how he saved those kids lives.
Jesus Christ, AJ is one unfortunate dude and was beyond fortunate all within a couple of hours. Miu did hell damage and it’s a miracle that AJ survived. Thanks to this medical team, they did a great job.
I know he stabbed over three times on the girl, gutted the kid, and stabbed his friend twice, that man was way way over excessive for something he started.
Yes and when the argument started at first with just the first group of kids, you can see him walking towards them with the knife already in his hand. I don't like taking sides, but if someone was calling me names, humiliating me, like this man went through has happened to me, but I never ran to get a knife and confront them. I just went up and asked them why and what did I do for them to treat me like that? And at the end we were all talking and chilling. And yes they were drinking as well.
@@yonnes42 That’s what some people commenting here call self defense. I’m completely lost on that rationalization and how insanely unthinkable it is to come to that conclusion. He brutally cut real people like slabs of meat and reacted like they deserved the learn a lesson. Beyond sick.
@@kathystokes5127 It usually works a million times better to be proactive instead of reactive. I might have asked them to give me a hand to find the phone I was looking for and 20 bucks for whoever finds it. Absolutely anything else would have been better than what happened.
@yonnes42 You didn't watch the video from the beginning. It starts where the six 17 year olds are shouting that Miu is looking for little girls. That he is a perv. That he is a pedophile. They cussed at him and yelled obscenities. They brought others over to join in. There were then 13 against one. They hit him, punched him, slapped him, pushed him down into the water repeatedly. When he got up, they did more physical abuse. Isaac lunged at Mr. Mui and was choking him. While he was lunging forward choking Miu, he went right into the knife. Miu stabbed those that were assaulting him. He did not lunge at anyone. He was not swinging the knife around. It was in self defense. Watch the video.
What about the perp's alcohol consumption? Was his blood tested when he was caught? The kids described him as acting drunk. In the videos he appears to behave irrational and enraged. The effects of alcohol consumption might have been the reason for his refusal to simply remove himself from the scene instead of aggressively pursuing these teenagers. We know that excessive drinking leads to irrational behavior and bad decisions.
Irrational behavior like trying to drown an old man clearly holding a knife, yes.
Very true! But too many people with twisted thinking and blaming these kids and their alcohol consumption is appalling! What they are saying is, is that these kids deserved to be stabbed and one gutted for bullying! This psycho “chose” to deal with the situation the cowards way and take them all on with a knife!! Makes me sick and I hope he rots in prison!
All the officers said they didn’t test him because he appeared to NOT be under the influence of anything, he seamed completely normal. He is in his 50s, he is allowed to drink by law 😂
We must remember that these kids were not the aggressors. He was!
Their drinking was not the immediate problem! His aggression was the problem. He came over to their group and was asked to leave, which he did not do. The fact that he got pushed was normal consequences for his aggressive behavior. Trying to say that it was the kids' fault for pushing him is ludicrous!
He tried to help him so try again.@chavaspada

Apparently he did hit first since so many people testified to it but you couldn’t see it in the video because it panned left.
The video did look bad so I jumped the gun thinking they attacked him first. That doesn’t seem to be the case at now though. Especially after watching the full interrogation.
this is totally self defense if you watch the slo motion the fatal one the kid was lunging at him. they had a bully mob mentality. its like when someone robs your home even if you see them 3 houses down you cant blast them, but if there coming at you then the ball is in your court to defend yourself. and i would of left after to. look what happened to kyle rittenhouse when he tried to stop to help the bald headed guy he blasted a mob around him started to come after him. nobody is going to let you just chill after you just shanked everyone in self defense when your alone

It’s unfortunate a young man is dead and 3 people had surgery but actions have consequences. The kids actions led to a man defending himself. Wisconsin law since 1801? Allows a man to protect himself. You or I might not have felt like this was a life or death situation but Mui did and he defended himself from people who were drunk and violent and hitting him, choking him, shoving him underwater. 12 people fighting one person is threatening and Mui had a right to fight back. Nonetheless, it is sad a man is dead and the other drunk and high kids had to have surgery. I feel bad for those that responded at the lake along with the police.

You can have your knife out for self defense reasons if you think you're going to be attacked which he was
The 110 lb girl was stabbed first. He started the fighting part, they were just being young and dumb. Self Defense on hitting a female in the face then stabbing Riley? If he wouldn't have put his hands on these women, I don't think no knife was going to be needed. Because that's how the fight broke out, the men got pissed for this freak to start going knife crazy. And on another matter, if that was me I would of had someone call 911

Not when the cop opened the door and asked if he was okay and not to cold, and he said "No but I heard there was a fight and someone was stabbed and I fit the description, and hides the knife he uses all the time. Agreed! That defense attorney is repugnant. By the same token, their blood levels could have been lower at the time of the incident due to rates if absorption. Assailed, ffs, really? So gross...

The defense is looking pathetic here. If attempting to infer the victims potentially worsened their own injuries by pulling away or moving incorrectly is all they got they are a sad team. Miu is not someone we want around the general public. While behavioral issues with taunting someone may be inappropriate as hell it does not justify hacking anyone to death.
