Hi Kurt, I live in a very old town in Nottinghamshire. My house is in a Roman hot spot, I've found all sort of items in the area going back to the Roman occupation of Britain. When the summer begins, I'll be searching my own property at depth while re-doing the back garden. Would love to find any of the items on your finds board, but am very interested to see if any Roman items surface. I'm a huge fan of your channel and have seen all your video's. Would love to see you in a future video finding your first Roman coin, I do hope you get the opportunity. Looking forward to your next video.
Kurt, I'm glad that you Finally got your treasures back!!! Thank you so very much for sharing them with us!!! All holes really do matter!!! God Bless Us All!!!
Any plans on going back? Brad is still the King of Luck, Muck is a very close second. Can you imagine what Muck and Brad could find when they are together!!! I will go back and re-watch those vids again. Love your channel, AND Mental Health Day vids. Love the fishing.
Great fun to see it all again, Kurt. I remember being really impressed with the special intros and outros you did for the UK stuff, and they made me think of the 3 times I was lucky enough to detect "across the pond" - 2 paid tours with Jimmy Sierra who is or was based on the west coast, and I also have friends that live in Shrewsbury ( which is in Shropshire County, where you detected). They let me hit their yard, and were also kind enough to hook me up with the local club. Sounds like the Portable Antiquities Act has only gotten more strict over the years. I'm surprised they didn't give you clear documentation of anything of yours that they kept. I'm totally foggy now on the rules about what they keep (usually stuff that has been declared "treasure"), what compensation is sometimes required, and also the fact that specific museums can make offers to actually purchase certain finds. On one of my Sierra tours, a guy found an amazing groat that was in better shape than anything even the British Museum had, and they made him an offer he couldn't refuse - around $4K, as I recall. I know most hope the finder will consider donating, as they often don't really have the funds to purchase certain finds. I sure hope to get over there again before "all is said and done", so to speak. Sorry to hear about the injury....heal up quick!! Now that you'll have the power of ambidextrous detecting, you'll crush Brad EVERY time. 🤣🤣
Thx for sharing! Hope the wrist heals quickly. My advice, for what it's worth..... if a person is right handed, learn to swing with your left hand and dig with your right. You can always switch during a hunt to combat fatigue in your arm and shoulder.
Holy smokes Sir Kurt of Dirtshire. That’s quite the haul from jolly old England. That had to of been a blast. Thanks for shooting this video. Sir Doug of NC
Kurt, I just looked up information on the Shropshire Short Cross Hoard, and it talks about the international metal detectorists who found the hoard, and low and behold there’s Kurt Franz’s of The Hoover Boys name. Followed by a photo of the coins that were found. It doesn’t seem like it’s been 5 years since you and Brad were hunting the English countryside for anything and everything you could find. Back when BRad could make more time for swinging the coil. Hope your wrist gets better soon. I always look forward to seeing your videos. God bless.
Great video Kurt. Love the England Coins and Relics. Congrats on your Silver Coins and Thimble. Hope you're able to get back out soon. I've been there. Swinging with the opposite arm is a task in it's self. But it's still fun to be put there detecting. Take Care Kurt
Amazing display of finds. Hope you get back and get some Roman or Celtic coins. That gun money coin was from James II. I found one over here from 1690. James II melted cannons and churchbells to make coins, so they're uncommon. Congrats again! Thanks!
I love your pod cast as usual. Thanks man. It relaxes me to watch your show every week. It’s what I look for and can’t wait to see you guys and your adventures
Good luck Kurt and all of the absent Hoover Boys. Hope that your wrist is better soon and thanks always for the excellent content. God Bless your family and everyone who has ever swung a detector with you.
Glad you got your finds back. Five years is about right for PAS. I had over 50 items with them for Two and a half years and eventually returned unexamined or recorded because of a theft in which I lost a 3000 year old Bronze Age gold lock ring. The British museum which runs the scheme is not fit for purpose as other recent revelations of thefts are beginning to reveal. Think yourself lucky! Andy
Great to see your finds Kurt. I’m from the U.S. and have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to detect a couple times in Scotland and I couldn’t agree with you more. Truly an amazing experience, hard to put into words. I highly recommend it .
I know the feeling about waiting for the finds to come back to me after my trip to England last year. I can’t wait to go back. Your video makes me even more excited to get back there
That was the BEST trip ever! Loved every minute watching those videos. Did you know in England's past a rolled piece of lead could be a hex? Medieval times I think, but the PAS would have known that, sure looked like rolled lead, lol. I hope you heal quickly, can't have you going through detecting withdrawals. Have a great week THB family!
Hi I'm from England . But I now live in Scotland. I come from a place called Bulford Village. One of the oldest places in that part. You should go visit stonehenge. And all around Wiltshire
Ive been doing a lot of metal detecting on beaches in Hawaii. Big downside is that theres hardly any old coins out here to find. I've found one 1944 mercury dime and one wheat penny over the past year. I cant wait to get back to upstate NY to metal detect some old land and find history.
Very cool. My 11th great grandfather was Sir Humphrey Lee who lived at Coton Hall in Shropshire. I can't help but wonder if his hand touched any of those items. It would be incredible to go over there and do some swinging one day...
Just amazing what you could find over there! I started watching you about 6 months prior to your trip. What a ride. Broken gold coins, cut cobs, Lord Baltimore and on…..
Another great vid Kurt. Am surprised you got them back at all! with the new treasure act, they will be backed up for years! Went over to UK couple of years ago & bought all my finds back. Only very rare items are to be declared to FLO
WhooHOOO!!!! We’re going in October!!! And man, you’re gonna be glad you learn to swing with your other arm. I did the same thing as you about 8 years ago, and now I switch arms several times a day on those long days, and it helps a lot!! Congrats on your incredible finds, and I can’t wait to get over there this Fall!!
Hard to believe it's been 5 years now. Time flies. Nice to see all the finds again and that you got 2 of the hammered coins back. Incredible. Question: Did you find any American coins there? I watched all the videos back then but can't remember if you found any American. This also goes to show us how long we have been subscribed to your channel. For me, longer than 5 years. I didn't realize it especially when I enjoy and have fun watching all this time. Thanks Kurt for all the interesting and great content!
Very cool. Always wondered the process/legality of foreign detection. Going this weekend to an old lime mine/community dated to the late 1800s, thinking that’s old.
Hi kurt, your welsh copper is Druids Head, it is a mining token from the Parys mountain mine on the isle of Anglesey, 1791. I have one, a bit battered but legible, i will send a picture if you let me know where, email or whatever, love all the hoover boys stuff, best wishes. Nigel UK.
Im old enough to remember using the old money, coppers and halfpennies and when the UK decimalised the first coin I spent was one of the very small half pence. Also, my fav British coin is the Threepenny, (pronounced thrupneebit.) I noticed one as you flashed through the coins. Great stuff
Hey Kurt...Were any of these coins that you found in England bucket listers for you? And I hope your wrist heals up quickly so you can get swinging again! Much love to ya!❤❤❤❤❤❤
You should do a colab with the Scottish detectors. He has a few permissions on what he calls Roman fields. I know he watches your channel because he's mentioned the hoover boys before.😁
Lots of interesting stuff buried in the English countryside. Great show.

The two hour movie of your visit to England is still one of my favorite Hoover Boys movies! I must have watched it 10 times 😂 Thanks Kurt!
Wow! Much appreciated
Still one of my favorite TH-cam series of all-time, I watch the 1 hour+ video at least twice a month. Absolutely incredible
Much appreciated!
Kurt, it was fun watching you dig these items up so many years ago but, nice to be reminded of the love you showed remembering them today
Very cool that you finally got it back. Heal up and get ready to swing again!
Great fun to see it all again, Kurt. Definitely going to try! Thanks
An amazing opportunity. Thank you for sharing
Wow…it’s been 5 years! Great to see the finds and your detailed review of them! Congrats!

Somewhere deep in the ocean lies the trophy room of a swordfish with a stuffed hoover boy😂😂
Good afternoon 🌞 from Shreveport Louisiana. England was awesome. I've been there before.

Medieval times I think, but the PAS would have known that, sure looked like rolled lead, lol. I hope you heal quickly, can't have you going through detecting withdrawals. I had wondered if you had received these finds yet. It is great to see them all again.
Wow, it’s awesome to see the awesome stuff you can find in other countries.
Great fines! You guys need to head to Oak Island, and help out the brothers. LOL
Haha!
The fact that this was 5 years ago is crazy. I watched it all then and it feels like it was only last year .
