Very nice list. When I saw the name of the video, I immediately thought of the portrait puzzle from CV. That was one I remember studying and trying to figure out the order. Took awhile but I finally did it.
Im glad you agreed with my list!👍 CVX had some of the hardest puzzles in the entire series but I do think the portrait room is the most difficult one in the game for sure.
There's also the Puzzle you do when you play Ashley in the original RE4, in the room with the armors. I struggled so much on this one, but once you have the solution it's easy
Yes I’m glad someone mentioned this because I was super close to adding that puzzle. When I was young I was never able to make it past Ashley’s section because of that part but now for some reason whenever I play it’s super easy. I’ve learned that you have to move the slides around in a clockwise direction to make out the picture and when done in the right order it can be solved pretty quickly
@jesuisdanslesbackrooms1977 that puzzle with Ashley with those tablets was pain in the ass for sure. I asked my friend to solve that one a very 1st time and 2nd time it felt like I did it blind folded.
Kudos as you don't see lots of videos based on the puzzles of this series, interesting because it's such a subjective element. Fair play great video sir.☣️👁🎮🍀
Yeah the puzzles in resident evil are some of the biggest gaming elements that makes RE feel like a survival horror game. This was a topic that I certainly haven’t covered before so I was very excited to share my own top 10 list! Thanks for watchin🙏🔥🎉
The best advice i can have for Water Sample, is taking a picture of the puzzle beated, its the most effective way looking at the marks on scrolling to match, because it changes every playthrough. My best time was around 40s... But im no brainer or speedrunner, i just play this game like thousand times...
Yea the puzzle does change every time which makes it super difficult. I could totally see that taking a picture could help when retrying the game. I have also played RE3 like a hundred times but still struggle on most of the puzzles.
@@MOD-kid It is the best solution i find it. The other puzzles i kinda memorized. But boy i will say, i was playing Parasite Eve II these days... What a creepy hard as nails puzzles to beat... Old games are brutal in this sense...
Ah man I’ve beaten the first parasite eve a couple of times before and it was actually very fun with great atmosphere, but it didn’t have any puzzles really. I imagine the sequel would be a lot better and more improved
@@MOD-kid Actually not. The first one is a pretty unique game. PE2 is smaller, simpler, self contained, pure Resident Evil vibes, the plot, the places, the enemies, but with PE kinda of Aesthetics. The water pressure puzzle from RE1R (idr if it was the same in RE1) was a massive pain. Doesn't help cause most would be focused on the shark Also the casino puzzle from Revelations is a pain

Disagree on the Liquid Solution machine puzzle in Resident Evil 2 Remake. The time it takes to learn is not as bad as The Animal Statue Puzzle which is #8 on this list. It does not take any longer to complete if you know how either. Now, the keycode puzzle from Resident Evil 2 Remake. That is a difficult puzzle.
@MOD-kid I speedran the game. It was a point I would struggle with constantly. In both the keypad and liquid puzzles. Once I knew the solution I was good. The problem was the solution to one was a method while the solution to the keypad was memorization of keycodes based on what type of run you were doing. Once I solved the liquid puzzle I had it. Once I solved the keypad puzzle I needed different solutions depending on the run.
Hey that’s awesome to hear and I’m glad you found the video! I’m also really bad for doing that lol. Then one more video before bed turns into 6 videos, then I’m up all night😆🤣
Lmao, yes the clock tower puzzle does require you to use your ears and listen to the rhythm of the music. For me personally I found that puzzle kinda hard but rather easy compared to most puzzles in the classic RE games. But for people with difficulty hearing I bet that puzzle is such a pain to solve!
@@MOD-kid If Capcom does Resident Evil Classic Trilogy Collection but with 1 Solution for Musicbox Puzzle or If Capcom does bring Resident Evil 3 Original to PlayStation Plus Premium Library but with 1 Solution for Musicbox Puzzle to become non Problematic for Deaf People.
Lmao, I didn’t start playing RE games until about 9 years after the release of RE3, my dad had a walkthrough book I use to read to try and help me get past the puzzles but even those couldn’t help me figure out how to get past all the puzzles in order to beat the game.😂 Just like most classic survival horror games the OG RE3 definitely doesn’t give you much help when it comes to trying to beat the game
@@MOD-kid when I first played RE 3, it was with my eldest brother, thanks to the first nemesis encounter, I had to sleep with a light on for many years. It is my most beloved game now.
That was a good challenging puzzle. I always keep track of which stones I’ve placed in what clock and I pretty much solve it by doing process of elimination
The one I struggled with the most was the animal lighter statue in re 0 it took me a whole week to figure that out at the time no walkthrough was available at the time . Played it on the gamecub
Ik a lot of y’all don’t like the fact that i used a walkthrough on RE0 but i already knew about the game for many years and even watched twitch streamers like bawkbasoup speedrun the game quite a few times. I didn’t finally get to play RE0 until 2022 and decided to use a walkthrough to get past that puzzle, I already understood the puzzle but still couldn’t figure it out for some reason🤣
The electronic terminal is not hard you just have to focus from closest to the power to the farthest and click on them until it's green and continue the process.
Why does everyone struggle with the number 1? This isnt the first video I've heard people complain about the difficulty. Its super easy. You just look at the columns that need to have all 3 and the ones that need to have none and there is only one solution that works for all 3 rows. Yeah, it might take a couple of minutes and you have to use your brain... but all day? You would have to be an actual idiot to get hung up on that puzzle. It tells you the solution!
You’ve certainly got a good point there but ig I’m just part of the RE community that doesn’t understand that puzzle lol. I’ll admit when I was younger that puzzle stopped me from ever beating the game and even now in my 20s with hundreds of hours spent on the game I still can’t seem to figure it out and it will take me about 10-20 minutes straight just to solve it😆
I might just be dumb, but the clocktower in re2 remake stumped me enough to go look for a guide because it's just so unintuitive. Got the big gear? Okay, set it in the first area. Every other time in the game you just leave things where you put them, so that means you'll do the same here right? WRONG. Pick that gear back up. Okay now go up the stairs and grab the small gear. Put the big gear where that used to be. Now you need to go BACK DOWNSTAIRS and put that small gear in a DIFFERENT PLACE, NOT THE ONE YOU TOOK THE BIG GEAR OUT OF, IT DOESN'T NEED ANYTHING APPARENTLY. Like. I probably would have figured it out if taking items in and out was a part of the puzzle mechanics before this point, but playing for the first time I was SO confused, I thought I'd somehow missed finding other gears in the rpd, or that maybe it could only be completed later like the library or the jewled box.
I don’t recall that being such an issue for me but yeah I can agree and see how that was such a pain for you. It’s definitely more advanced than the OG game because in that all you had to do was place one gear in its correct spot. The remake now has two gears and you gotta use the big gear to drop the stairs to get the small gear then place the big gear upstairs and the small gear downstairs. For a first time player that can be confusing and I’m sure you weren’t the only one
I think the number 2 is not hard.. its just trial and error, when you died on your first run (considering you didnt get the tape), you will solve it on your next run. There is no big thinking required unlike the RE4 cemetery puzzle. But, Very good video 😊👍
Honestly I did struggle with the happy birthday puzzle during my first play through but I do think it was a little bit easier than most of the classic RE puzzles
I forgot to mention it but I was just sick with the flu and I don’t think my voice was ready for all that. My apologies, It does sound like I had a lot of mucus when I spoke. I don’t do lean and I promise I’m not on that juice WRLD lifestyle💀👍
While I don't think it's the hardest puzzle anymore (it's actually very easy once you actually know how to read the panel and line up the bars) RE3's water puzzle is and always will be the most infamous puzzle in RE for me. It took me ages to figure it out, and I think the first time I did, it was by pure luck and I hadn't actually worked out the method for solving it.
Same, I’ve beaten the game 100 times. I have the infinite weapons and everything but I still spend about 20 minutes on the water sample puzzle and pretty much every time I do solve it it’s by luck lol
My 2 arch nemesis of puzzle the animal puzzle from RE0 and the electrical machine from re4r I'm thinking I'm smart with food chain then i realised I'm stupid and for re4r i just go RANDOM BUTTONB BULL SHIT until i succeed i still to this day don't understand how this puzzle work :'D but everything else for me was pretty fair and easy haha nice tier list!
Usually the puzzles in RE games aren’t that difficult compared to most survival horror games, like silent hill. But for these ones they all had me stuck and confused on how to solve them. Like I said for RE0 I had a walkthrough and was able to get past that one but I can tell without any help it would be super hard to solve. And yea the RE4 remake puzzle had me struggling and literally pressing random buttons as well lmao😂
The Water Sample Puzzle, still stumps me tbh. To my knowledge there are 4-6 different versions to solve and its randomised per playthrough. I never know whether i'm meant to look at the lines, or the spaces between the lines. There just doesn't appear to be any real rhyme or reason to how the puzzle is structured and how you use it. I went online years ago and wrote down every potential solution and whenever i got a certain wave-length in my playthrough's i drew it next to the solution that worked for quick reference in future playthroughs. I think that's ultimately what makes this puzzle so difficult, is there isn't a clear way to understand how it works. Like i have looked at the lines/gaps whenever i complete it to try and understand which part of the puzzle i'm meant to be focussing on and i just to this day have no clue how the puzzle works. I'd argue the Water Sample Puzzle and the Petrol Safe Puzzle is the only really bad things about the og RE3. Every other puzzle that could be a bit tricky you can still understand how it works. But the Water Sample it's just not clear on what i'm meant to be paying attention to. And the Petrol Safe is randomised every single time, sometimes i get it within a few seconds and sometimes i'll be at it for minutes just hoping something works.
Yea both of those puzzles in RE3 have me randomly pressing buttons hoping something will work! With the gas station puzzle I can understand that there’s the red lights on top that all need lighting up but when it comes to the water sample puzzle it all just looks and feels super confusing and is totally the hardest puzzle I’ve ever completed in a resident evil game
Man im suprised at *1 i struggled so much with that in the 90s but the guys at work said it was easy so i just figured i was dumb Glad you had a similar experience
For some games that have already been out for years I just go with a walkthrough because i wanna experience the story, but when it’s a brand new survival horror game I want to do everything by myself and experience it like everyone else does. So for RE0 and RE1 remake i looked up the solution to the puzzles but for RE2,RE3 and RE4 remake i figured it out on my own👍
Well ig it just depends on how I feel at the time cuz personally sometimes I don’t feel like taking forever being stuck on a puzzle. But it is really rewarding to figure out a puzzle without doing research or using walkthroughs
@MOD-kid Yeah, personally I feel like puzzles are like a quarter of what maked Resident Evil Resident Evil. Especially the classic fixed-camera games. But I also don't blame you for looking up solutions
Nah man the portrait puzzle from CVX and animal statue puzzle from RE0 are actually really hard unless you had a walkthrough or are just a genius or something😂
@@MOD-kidFrom what I remember I just googled the animal puzzle from re0 after so many tries but I did figure out the CVX puzzle after a few tries because I made sure to read the file they give you in detail so I didn't miss anything. Once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad imo
Yeah true, at least CVX gives you that file which is technically the hint to solving that puzzle. The RE0 animal statue puzzle I don’t recall seeing any help or advice for in the game.
Because I love the storyline in RE and watching the cutscenes. RE0 was an oddly confusing game that has no item box and relies heavily on swapping between Billy and Rebecca. If RE0 wasn’t so different from the rest of the series then I’d most likely play it normally. I played with a walkthrough because I heard that RE0 is one of the hardest games with some of the hardest boss fights including the giant bat. Everyone has their own opinion but I think using a walkthrough is valid for RE0
@MOD-kid I'm just saying at least try to figure out the puzzle, maybe you're just young and grew up on TH-cam walkthroughs but I take pride in figuring things out and the puzzles are what made me a Resident Evil fan, I just don't see the point of playing a puzzle game with an answer key 🤷♂️
@@MOD-kid I'll admit I did find that particular puzzle a bit confusing but I knew it was a food chain order, just didn't know what ate what for 1 or 2 of em, I figure it out back on the GameCube but when I recently replayed it on PS4 I may have looked up the order after trying for a bit too long 😂 but it did try
I didn’t start playing video games til about 2008 so TH-cam walkthroughs always existed for me but back then it was more rare to find. My dad always had walkthrough books for all the classic re games even including RE4 and RE5 so using walkthroughs and guides has been in my family for years!😆
Every good survival horror game has a good challenging puzzle in it. Apparently you don’t really care about resident evil if you can’t appreciate the work they put into some of these puzzles. I struggle on all these puzzles which is a big reason why I love the RE franchise so much.
@MOD-kid Bruh Resident Evil is probably my favorite franchise of all time. And I appreciate all the time effort and puzzles they put into the games. They just ain't as hard as you make them seem.
Unfortunately RE5 doesn’t have any challenging puzzles. The only good puzzle in RE5 is the laser puzzle. Regardless RE5 is still my favorite video game of all time
The Animal Statue Puzzle in Resident Evil Zero caused me to set the game down for a few weeks.
Yeah bro, I literally would have never beat RE0 if I didn’t look up a solution to that puzzle
Yessss, the Birthday Room puzzle from Resident Evil 7 was a nightmare. I waisted an hour before just giving up and looking up the solution.

Lmao, the guys that said the water sample puzzle was easy must be really good at Tetris or something because that puzzle was super difficult for me!🤣👍
I disagree with 2 heavily
All together it’s pretty elaborate but ig it wasn’t that difficult, I just really liked the creativity behind it
I hated that puzzle 😒❤️🔥it’d the only puzzle that makes you want to rage 😡 quit
Facts!! That puzzle is straight up torture🤯🥵
Do you actually solve the puzzles in these games, or just look them up?
For some games that have already been out for years I just go with a walkthrough because i wanna experience the story, but when it’s a brand new survival horror game I want to do everything by myself and experience it like everyone else does. So for RE0 and RE1 remake i looked up the solution to the puzzles but for RE2,RE3 and RE4 remake i figured it out on my own👍
Normally do them but one of them I had to search up because it took me like 20 min to work it out 😅
No sense in this, just cuz the game is not New. Is like u only play something right if everyone is playing too lol.
2,3,7,8,9 were easy for me 😂
Nah man the portrait puzzle from CVX and animal statue puzzle from RE0 are actually really hard unless you had a walkthrough or are just a genius or something😂
The RE0 animal statue puzzle I don’t recall seeing any help or advice for in the game.
sorry, no puzzle in the resident evil series is difficult.
Sorry but Imo there’s some pretty difficult puzzles in the RE series
Seems like it ruins a puzzle being on this list where you looked up the solution instead of trying to figure it out. Takes away from the fun of the gm
2:43 why bother playing the game if ur just gonna look up the solution 🤦♂️
My dad always had walkthrough books for all the classic re games even including RE4 and RE5 so using walkthroughs and guides has been in my family for years!😆
RE 2 lab puzzle was hard as f
Yea fr, it was definitely the hardest puzzle in RE2 imo because all the other ones aren’t really that difficult.
@MOD-kid agreed 👍
Its not that hard.😔
It’s hard at first but after you’ve played the game a bunch of times it gets easier to solve and remember
@@MOD-kid yeah its kind of tricky at first playthrough but not hard. For myself
..
I disagreed with 1 since it easily to complete but Musicbox is Hardest especially for Deaf People (Fact)
If your special ed self struggled on the easiest puzzle on RE3 then there’s no way you got past the water puzzle
Yeah ikr! The music box is easy compared to the other puzzles in RE3
@@roymustang87
Randomized is Problematic for Deaf People and Hard Hearing People while Water Quality isn’t Problematic.
Oh yea, you’ve got a good point💀
I'm sorry but bruh if you think these are hard you suck.
Re5 Just one puzzle👎👎👎
Unfortunately RE5 doesn’t have any challenging puzzles. The only good puzzle in RE5 is the laser puzzle. Regardless RE5 is still my favorite video game of all time
