I just turned 70 yesterday and have a square shape that always needs styling. This video was a refreshing recap of tried and true tools incorporating more modern styles. Thanks, I needed that! ❤
Hi Heather: I looked in a mirror today, and OMG, I looked OLD!! At least, to me, I sure did. Granted, my white roots were on full display, badly requiring a coloring and cut. I only wore a little light makeup, but, my body looks like a five foot tall refrigerator box..no waistline. ☹️ UGH. Sometimes, I just want to give up. There's SO MUCH maintenance required as we age. You look great... hope Hurricane and Bill are well. Hugs; great tips. Rosemarie 🩷
If you look around the grocery store you will see that you look OK. Sometimes we are really too hard on ourselves. I hope my inspiration messages resonate with you as you are one of my favorite people who comment!!!
Such good examples, once again! The wash on the jeans... that right there was a real eye opener! No matter what's currently trending, it's good to be aware of how it will look on us. Also the wider, lighter belt! What a difference when you switched that out! I appreciate the thought that you put into your inspiration at the end of the videos. These inspiration moments are so positive and uplifting! Thank you, Heather!
I think your tips are great and perfect for the colder weather ahead. I’m short and I can easily look too bulky if I don’t layer correctly. I am a few pounds overweight too so I really have to be careful. I agree that we shouldn’t beat ourselves up if we are a little overweight. I definitely want to lose weight, but I am doing it by eating right and exercising. We go to the gym several days a week and walk our dogs every night. They love it and we do too ! Thank you for always being a positive influence in this world full of negativity and hurtfulness ! Love ya bunches and kiss that little Hurricane for me !!! 💖💖💖😘😘😘😘
I'm so glad I'm inspiring you to do the best you can and enjoy life! It sounds like you're doing all the right things, I just walked Hurricane and I'll give him his kiss!
Thank you SO much for sharing your insight, kindness & showing us how to be the best we can be. Keep on Shining that great big Beautiful Loving Light of yours!💖🌞
Hello! Heather!😊 I cannot believe you are 69!!! Impossible!! I thought you were at the most 56! And had your children you g like me! Your skin is glowing! How do you do it? I will try the black strech jeans, and i do love the pink satin camisole on you! Dont hide it with your blazer! You are pretty in it and not fat! Also love the burgundy blouse! Great tips! Thk you! Ps i am 2 years older than you, and i do remember you ad a model...i think in canadian magasines!! Still got it! 🎉 Have a good sunny week end!!❤
Wow! You just made my day! My makeup is Sheisedo Syncro glow foundation and I use the Elf Highlighter called Moonlight Pearls on my cheeks. You can find them at amazon.com/shop/awesomeover50 in the Makeup Section. Enjoy and thanks again for the lovely comment!
Plus I have. 4 c-section belly and on the bottom it’s kind of a shelf? So any pants kind of concave inward in an extreme manner. It’s frustrating bc I could wear a lot more if my belly was slightly lifted up or hey just gone lol
The problem is the sizing of the shirts is incorrect. Literally you would look at me and say OK maybe she’s a medium or a large. But when I buy shirts in order for them to fit my arms and under my arms comfortably, I literally have to get extra extra large or 2X! I cannot stand if a shirt is hugging my armpit. Because the sweat shows quicker the deodorant on there and it can give me a rash on my armpits. Otherwise, I’d wear more smaller sized shirts
Not sure your age, but I’m 61. I’ve weighed about 110lbs since high school. I did have 5 children. I get frustrated sometimes that people just accept weight gain as a fact of life as we age. It doesn’t have to be. I don’t starve myself, but eat sensibly and do exercise. I have my entire life. It takes a bit of discipline but it’s not impossible. I want to encourage women that they don’t need to just accept that getting “fat” is inevitable. It isn’t. By incorporating something as simple as walking they can change their physique at any age. It’s never too late.
I’ve always enjoyed a natural good weight. Until my spine gave me troubles, then I broke it bc I’m active. I gained 20 pounds I hate. Happy for you. Btw I’m 72 post hysterectomy.
Me too! I will soon be 55 and I still exercise 6 days per week and eat a balanced diet. Walking is wonderful … and our dog needs it too so double bonus!
I agree that just accepting we get heavy is a fact of life as we age. My message was about wearing clothes to look slimmer and I did stress how important it is to eat right and exercise. I also went on to say that some weight especially around the middle is ok and not to starve ourselves. I'm 69 by the way and feel fine about my weight although I do eat right and exercise
@@lovingourage And you look absolutely FABULOUS!! As I was watching the video, I thought “Wow, Heather looks at least 15 years younger” wi5 your beautiful skin and well-done makeup. 😁

Gloria Vanderbilt jeans are the best, stretch and made well. I’m in arizona and love sun dresses, I’m a senior, but I rarely find something nice.
Thanks for sharing!!
I agree! But they are hard to find now! Even on Amazon...and they are twice the price! 😊
Great ideas Heather! Thanks for posting the links. Love and Kindness, Teresa
You are so welcome!
Great message and great styling tips! Thanks, Heather!

You are so welcome, so glad you enjoyed he ideas Jules!
Love your videos but I don't wear blazers. Would you consider doing one of these with fall sweaters?
That's a good idea. Will try to incorporate a few or even a sweater jacket

I have zero extra pounds and still enjoyed this video. I may have to pick up that red blazer before Christmas. 😊
Thanks for your input and I hope you love that blazer as much as I do

Wearing the right size can help also.

"Trick the eye" ...... (aka Optical Illusions)......YES be kind to yourself. Thanks !
Love your tips!
Thanks!
Great suggestions! I would add besides that smile you suggested, that good posture can hide at least 5 pounds in the midsection!
Yes! You are so right about posture!
All good ideas and I would add, wearing the proper underwear helps a lot!
So true!

Changing your laundry detergent might help prevent your underarm rashes.
@@jeanetteh.9240 no, the rashes are from when the shirt is too tight under the armpit and it rubs

There are many women with health conditions that makes it difficult to lose weight. Don’t be so quick to judge!!!!!
I'm 68. Stop eating bread and sugar
