My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.
On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!
I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.
You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.
    Enjoy browsing!
    Love,
    Lucy

The rouge concealing the dark circles makes a lot of sense, nowadays we have cream coloured concealers in orange and reddish tones to 'cancel' the blueishness of the under-eye. Considering that the majority of rouge products were a cream formula, if you blended well, it would work!

I always use a coral shade of eye shadow under my eyes if I didn't sleep well and have dark under my eyes. When I apply a light layer of BB cream or a normal beige concealer (my skin is cappuccino color) and it does make it look very natural. I remember learning that technique to cancel different shades of colors in the face from a professional make up artist. She also suggested to apply the concealer only in the inside part of the eyes to the mid and not the whole area and then just blend outwards and then apply a lighter shade or a bit of shimmer right where the lines of the inner eyes go to give that dewy feeling. Honestly it makes such a difference. I would say that definitely some things haven't changed!, they just improved.
By the way, this make up suits you so well!. You look beautiful.

The idea of hiding darkness around the eyes by bringing the blush up is interesting. I suppose if you have a lot of blue under your eyes it could act like a subtle colour corrector.
Unfortunately for someone like me with stained lids, blush near the outer bottom corner of my eye would just accentuate the darkness.

Hi Loepsie...I have a request for a new video. You have the exact same skin colour like me...cool, pale olive skintone, and I'm always having problems finding those perfect lipsticks for myself. I've noticed that you're very good at picking out colours and lipsticks. I love the MAC Russian Red on you. I'm going to buy it for myself too. I've seen you with another lipstick in a photo of you in a blog. It was a dark, wine colour. Could you tell us what specific lipstick that was? It was gorgeous and really made your skin glow and standout. Also, can you do a video, going through your lipstick collection and tell us which ones you have. It would be a great help to us olive girls. Thanks alot!

If it was 80s, it would be a straight line from the hair to almost the mouth and it would do exactly what Bubbles said not to do: SHOW! I think the look was meant to be neo, techno vampire, a la The Lost Boys. Pale skin, extremely bold makeup on eyes, lips and cheeks. Lots of straight lines…like slashes. This rouge today looks a Gibson Girl.

I love the makeup and my only qualm is that the red lipstick right in the corners of the mouth is distracting from the harmony of the rest of the face and contrasts a bit too strongly your beautiful lip shape. Other than that, lovely use of powder and very simple, sweet and timeless. Would look very nice with a neutral lip color for any occasion. Thank you for making these videos! They are such joys to watch!

It's a pretty look and you're right - that color lipstick does look good on you!
That being said...I wouldn't have noticed anything much unusual about it, if I hadn't known, it's supposed to be modeled after a specific decade.
Looks just like a typical 'bold lip - simple eye' style to me.
But maybe that's because you didn't style your hair accordingly and put on an outfit. Sometimes these things only really work synergistically.

That's so funny they're spilling my secrets! I have very transluscent (so, blue + purple) skin around my eyes so I tend to wear a lot of concealer. Bringing the blush up a little higher over the undereye contour and highlighting the lid and inner corner is what I do to "revitalise" and blend in and avoid a blanked out look from the concealer.
