We have cruises out of New Orleans twice. The first time was during spring break so it was very crowded. But it was so easy. I have parked at the port itself both times and love how easy it is. You park, then take the elevator to the ground floor to the terminal. It is super easy.

Last time we cruised out of NOLA we was in 2018 on the Carnival Dream. We took the Amtrak down to the ship then just used the public transit system in NOLA

I will be in New Orleans Going on the Norwegian Breakaway on Jan 28 2024. I'm from Minneapolis MN. My dad will be driving me to New Orleans for my first time. I normally leave to Miami or Los Angeles. I can't wait. It has been a long time and now I get to finally go.

Love New Orleans and the Glory. My tradition is that I always call whichever daughter isn't with us and taunt her as I step onto the ship. Was on the Glory in May and will be back aboard for the Thanksgiving 8 day. Keep it up crew.

Thank you so much for this video! Last week was our first time cruising out of New Orleans. Also, we called Machu Picchu Tours after seeing this video. They made everything so much easier for us. It was awesome to not have to navigate getting into the port and parking.
That's who we've always use. They are very friendly, quick and convenient service.
Our tradition is to smile all the way from the terminal until the end of the cruise. We are on vacation!

I used to do the same thing the Hop when I entered onto the ship but when I was boarding the Vista I did the Hop and I ended up blowing out my knee I needed to use one of those stupid scooters the entire trip I could barely walk I had to pay extra for the scooter just because I tried to do the stupid bunny hop onto the ship

Do you have any hotel recommendations near the port? Want to get into town a day early before my cruise.
Great video you two, and I loved the directors cut. On my first cruise ever, we left out of Tampa and new Orleans was a port of call. It was fun but it wasn't the same as going to the islands. Shortly after that they stopped going there as a port of call.
Getting ready for out first cruise this spring and I know I’m going to start crying (from excitement) when I step on board... Just like I did the first time I went to Disney World lol..

Heads up on the parking. We showed up and they charged us 18 a day (instead of what is advertised on their website- 14 a day). Then they tried to tell us they would charge us more if we paid via credit card. We cannot recommend them because of the way they did pricing once we showed up.

@@scottsmith9201 Yes and he was like "well it's cheaper than parking at the port" and I am thinking well not by much. I really wish they would have been upfront with pricing. Otherwise, they seem like very nice people.
Hey Jason and Kelli. I sailed on the Carnival Dream out of New Orleans just prior to the shutdown. It was an absolute "NIGHTMARE." There was construction going on in the Cruise Port area as well as some roads that fed in into the general area. Although I flew in the day before and stayed at a nearby hotel it took me over an hour by cab to go only a few blocks to the Cruise Port. I probably will NOT ever Cruise out of New Orleans again!
I’ve cruised twice out of that port since Oct 2021 and both times is was really smooth and no construction.

Well they charged WAY over their advertised price on the website. They were not even apologetic and even tried to charge more when we said we were paying with credit card. So we cannot recommend them based on that.

My boarding pass says 11:30-12:00 Arrival time. Do I need to get to the port earlier for parking?
What if I never got the covid vaccine? Not that I'm one of those that are against it, I just never got covid so I never worried about getting the vaccine. I have to get the vaccine?
Is the COVID vaccination proof / COVID testing still in effect?
No it is not
Have they finished with all the Construction??? Or is it still a "Nightmare"?

How long did the boarding process take?
It took several hours. All boarding times were delayed. (We are not sure why). We arrived around 8am. We were on the ship around 1230.
