CARNIVAL VALOR Cruise - Day 1 - New Orleans

Come along as we board the Carnival Valor and leave from Port of New Orleans on our 5 day cruise to Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico. We sail down the Mississippi, which takes over 8 hours, to the Gulf of Mexico. Tour the ship and experience our first night in the Dining Room. End the day by watching the Welcome Aboard Show in the main theater.

Do you think the Mayan Ruins were better here in Cozumel or in Costa Maya? My wife and I are heading on this cruise in February...

Cozumel ruins are small but close by and easy to get to. The Costa Maya ones take a few hours to get to but are a whole city. There’s also Tulum ruins on the mainland that in the past there was an excursion from Cozumel. But you have to take a 45 minute ferry ride and then a 1 hour bus ride. I’ve been to Tulum and the ruins on Cozumel but never the ones from Costa Maya
