Not just for newer riders. I've been riding for 40+ years. Raced in the 90's. Done more than a million klms on a bike. Had mine for a year. It's a lot of fun, super stable, great suspension. Do yourself a favour and order it with the comfort seat. 👍👍
I have been also riding for 40years on and off and have many different bikes, it depends on what the individual requires, but this bike has everthing ,like the other gentleman said, must have comfort seat.
Cheers! Well done. I have a 2019 S1000 XR and the missus wants to upgrade from her old F800ST to something new and this looks spot on. Much appreciated!
I've watching a lot of reviews before I buy it and no one, even the Spanishs, Mexicans, Americans, Italians or British guys, made the Headlight test, that is a extra point for your review. Thanks for the video and keep going, you have a lot of thinks to improve but it goes in the right ways. Regards from Mexico.
Thank you very much for the message! I think headlights are absolutely essential when it comes down to bikes/cars. Particularly about bikes as safety is an even bigger factor on 2 wheels.
Hey great review there, I'm the very same type of rider as you man ! Enjoying motorbike as a fun, powerful and practical ride, 3 years of licence and 13 000km xp with a large moutain bike background so I enjoy myself with a handle bar. Commuting 90% of the time in Paris traffic and doin small day trips on week-ends on a XSR 700. Looking to upgrade for a premium mid-sized road trail, more powerful and comfy than my roadster to start longer road trips. Going down south of France through the Alps this summer... I tried F900XR and R1250GS this week-end at BMW, the dealer is pushing as hard as he can for me to get the GS but I told him I came for the F900XR in the first place to upgrade from 700 to 900, thinking I'll get a 1000 4cyl or 1200 later in my life to do even bigger road trips. The test really confirmed it all, the F900XR feels much lighter and agile at low speed, it's very thin so that you're well tucked into it. Shifter is much smoother with that engine than the 1250, also less vibrating in general. I like the look better in the new triple black and it comes with all the BMW features at a much more competitive price than the GS, which engine is just ridiculously powerful, way too much to keep both me and my licence safe, at least with my riding experience. If I was only looking for an engine I'd go for the Tracer 9 GT which is quite amazing and much more powerful but the F900XR beats it in every other compartments imo : chassis, bmw top notch suspensions, brembo brakes, displays and general ergonomy, heating handles, speed regulator and everything, it's a really cool premium bike. Bottom line is, I'm ordering it tomorrow 😁
I love how polite you were with the passengers and the drivers when you were on the road. Many bikers I have encountered were not like that, it is nice to see something new for a change.
I have one just the same but different mods, I love it so far and it's no slouch on the twisty's, great fun and only has one big flaw... THE SEAT is a plank after 100 miles but mine is off being re-trimmed at the moment. I recommend the MRA Vario screen, the adjustable spoiler lets you set it to suit yourself and the little sport screen will be ok for warm weather.
That's one thing I forgot to mention and you're absolutely right! The seat does get a bit uncomfortable on a long journey but the rest of the bike is wicked! Wish you many safe miles and smiles!
I don't have it anymore sadly, currently don't have a bike. I loved the F900 XR, the only thing I didn't particularly 'love' was the seat..as that wasn't the comfiest on longer trips, other than that, the bike was great and I loved having it!
Hey, this bike is very beginner friendly. It's not very heavy, easy to manouvre in tight spaces (as it doesn't have the BMW Boxer engine) but still quick and fun at the same time. I'd definitely recommend!
Thank you. MSF CLASS, A Suzuki, Kawasaki, 8 BMW'S and a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 for around town. Probably selling in 2023/2024? Ride safe. Have fun. Get busy living or get busy dying
is there any way to fix quickshifter on f900xr 2023 model ? my quickshifter sucks at gear 1 up to 4 it’s like cutting of ignition so when i ride with my wife i don’t use it otherwise i would have to look for her somewhere on the highway/road
Haha, that's quite funny.. I'm not really sure, maybe take it to a dealer and get them to have a look at it? I don't remember mine being particularly stiff like that. I think 1-->2 is always a bit dodgy but after that it should be okay..
Hello and from me. I’m considering buying this bike as my very first one in my life. I’m 32 years old and I want to buy something which will use with ease in town also to go to work and weekend out of it for fun. Am I doing bad decision with it for being too much powerful for me? Of course I will drive it slow until I get used to it. Everyone is saying to me that I should get a scooter or a bike with 500cc or less and then to buy a bigger one. But I don’t want to buy that kind of bike and to sell it after a year and then buy this one…. I want to buy the f900xr and drive it like 4,5,6 years and may be more. What should I do?
Only you can make that decision. Go and test drive it and see how you feel. I don't think it was too powerful personally. I think it's perfectly fine for a first bike, it's not jumpy or hard to ride. The only downside I found with it was the seat which was a bit harder than I would have liked it to be. I'm not really a fan of scooters so if you ask me, I'd go for the F900 XR :)
Hello there, so how did it go? :) I am looking on this bike as my second one (after few months with license and over 13000 km), and I have to say, it was good to start on Honda NC750X. But there are a lot of variables that affects whether it’s wise to start with a more powerful bikes. Be safe, Petr
I haven't ridden the F850GS so can't comment. Definitely prefer the F900 XR looks wise. My Learning bike was an F750 GS which was pretty good but I prefer the F900 XR - it's just in a different league when it comes to looks..Only the S1000 XR looks sexier in that segment, in my opinion.
This is my first bike video!! Let me know what you think? Do you like the F900 XR?
Don't forget to Subscribe and let me know what you think!!
Nice one, mate! Drive safe😎🇬🇷❤️🏍️

Thank you! Welcome on your F900 XR journey, you're going to absolutely love the bike!!
I'm loving the screen on that thing it stands out in the dark for sure
Yeah, it's pretty awesome 😁
Great video, very explanatory, definitely learnt a few things about bikes from it

No point being rude or annoying.. :)
I have the triple black model and since february i am so Happy with the xr. Amazing motorcycle . So premium
Great to hear! Enjoy!! And subscribe if you haven't already. :)
Those were some really crispy shots in the opening and ending cutscene, really made the bike shine :D

Great Review with plenty of information. Very good for someone that’s only been riding for a few years.
Thank you very much!
just bought that one but in white and i love this bike :)
Great, I've loved it too! Enjoy it and let me know how you get on with it. It certainly looks great!
Thank you for the review and many thanks for such a nice night test. I do not understand, why no one does it.
Awesome review! Awesome motorbike ❤❤❤
Thank you 🤗
Very Good review Pete. Just wanted a little higher camera view sometimes while you were riding so as to see what’s coming up!
Thank you!
The bike is rlly cool but 12k is kind of beyond my price point rn haha
Anymore videos coming out soon of the bmw
Great video, now that you have had it for a while, are you still happy with the bike, any negativity? as I am looking to purchase one this year.

Hi all
Great review
I am begginer, and is it good for the first bike? I have 32 years and not some kid that will give it throtle to the max right away

@@PeteDrives Thanks!
What’s your audio set up to get such crisp engine sound while you ride?
Nothing unusual, a normal lapel microphone inside the helmet..it's not a particularly expensive mic either - just a reugular cheap eBay mic.. :)

No worries - the headlights on this bike are really good so well worth showing :)
