YT is definitely screwing over most creators, the algorithm is broken. One knife guy I subscribe to has almost 600,000 subs. And yet one of his recent knife reviews had under 2k views. Pretty much mathematically impossible without YT screwing him over!

YT did not unsubscribe me.... and funny thing, a friend is just now starting out in "being prepared" and she found one of your 10yr videos, completely by a random YT search. then she forwarded it to me, proud of what she found. I started laughing, then told her to look through your whole video list for some great content.

I have my short list of tubers I want to sell ALL their content, your on that list and YT only shows me about 60% of your videos in my sub box so I know to check your main page every so often to get caught up...sucks I have the same thing happen to me for years now, constant wow you still make videos, and YT keeps unsubbing me...

I hadn't seen any alerts from your channel for a long time and wondered if you were still posting content. I eventually went to your channel to see if you were still around.
I am noticing the same across the suggested videos You Tube pushes to my feed. Either a Boat load of half naked reviewers, or confrontational or controversy-sparking videos
I do get your notifications, but many channels I don't. I'm purging my sub list of channels I never watch (and this past week, a few showing zero integrity). Hope it helps me see more from channels I want to watch, like this one.

Been subscribed to you for many years. You have only showed up in my feed two or three times in the last year-plus. No alerts. Also wanna say that the wind noise in this video reminded me of your early days. Either a dog would bark or a helicopter would go overhead. Loved the look on your face, the campy feeling, and the way it seemed to happen all the time.
Never seen ur stuff but u showed up on my feed . So that’s good .. 😅 keep working keep cranking em out .. don’t focus on the negative .. it’s all just computer generated prob not personal.. you can experiment slightly and get the views flowing ! 😊
Very interesting that you mention this. I am a very small channel and I have seen the same things happening. 5,000 views down to 500, it's like TH-cam is throttling the views.
Because they are. So much that it became really obvious.
90% of the videos I watch is knife related or bushcraft relate, I used to get reccomended knife content all the time and new creators but now I essentially have to look at my subscribers to see whats been posted. Never shows up recommended and rarely get new knofe channels etc.
Also I have noticed that I've randomly been unsubscribed from channels I've been watching for years. Occasionally I'll be watching a video and see the subscribe button and at first I thought must have done it by accident but its happened so many times that I know it couldn't be accidental.

You're not the only one. As a subscriber to many knife and edc channels I don't get notifications when a new video comes out.
Do not know if others find the same, but even though I'm subbed and bell on for all. If I don't watch those video's when they drop the notification will slow down or stop over time, till I begin watching that channel again even though I have not changed my settings. Maybe you could do what some other channels have where you have an email that viewers sign up to that sends out an email alert that a new video is out as a backup notification so if You Tube fails the view gets an email reminder.
I'm subscribed to more than 100 channels and have been subscribed here since your beginning. I don't ever click the bell on a channel but i do get all your new vids pop up on my subscription feed as well as all others. Don't ever remember one not showing up. Any guess as to why others don't experience this would be complete conjecture on my part. My tiny channel also suffers from less views lately. It would make sense that with the increased number of videos, not all can be pushed to the top of a feed. 10 years ago if i searched for "survival gear" or "knife review" the same few channels popped up and they were growing fast compared to today. I will agree with you and other commentors that a lot of T&A and shock type videos seem to get precedence.
I really appreciate your videos and collaborations with your friends and other creators. It is unfortunate that YT has become this way. Best of luck to you and all other creators that are struggling with the same issue, I hope this will turn around.

I turn off the bell on all my subscriptions, otherwise they're constantly pinging my phone. When I open the TH-cam app the bell icon up top has a number by it and I know that new videos are available them I can open the notifications and see who's posted new stuff. I get notifications of all your videos, I just have to open the app to see the notifications.
Sean Kelly is getting the same thing. And all he has is outdoor builds and a few gear reviews.
He just said in a video last week that he is down to 3% of what he used to get.
I've seen where other content creators are dropping views and subs also.
I haven't received a notification in your videos in a little over 3 weeks. But I check just about everybody to see if you have something new.
Corporals corner is still getting reasonable views, when compared to other you tubers with similar or more subs. Survival Lilly, TA outdoors, Joe Robinet, Dave Canterbury and several others. I think he is comparing his views to when the fear of the covid cough was in full swing, and 3 quarters of the world was lock down watching social media all day. I stop watching him for a while as his whining and sales push was getting to much and only so many cubby house's you can watch a guy build. He does seem to have toned that down a bit now and getting back to showing tips and a bit of blacksmithing and skills again.

I have had to resubscribe to a lot of gun channels like 5 times in the last few months , Garand thumb I had to sub 4 times in one week ? They are auto unsubscribing people from gun and knife channels
I think people now just subscribe to 150 people and so TH-cam can’t actually show us everything. If you watch a channels videos a lot I think those ones get pushed forward.

I find I have to have Notifications settings to "ALL".
I've heard this a lot from other Channels i watch, I think it's done on purpose by YT . I wasn't getting any notifications from a couple of my favorite channels and they had unsubscribed me.

Many years ago I was jumped by a group ,one guy had a baton .in the melee I lost my footing in the gravel and was hit by an over hand swing 2x. I looked up both times as he was unloading as hard as he could and had enough time to cover up and get small. I thought I was gonna be knocked out or I don't know what, I was very worried. I looked up a third time and saw his confusion, so I stood up. When I did they all took a step back and I escaped.
I'm not a badass,I think there is something fundamentally wrong with batons. Cops only use them to break out car windows from what I've seen.

I would assume anyone with a Preparedness, Guns,Homesteading etc are all getting the same treatment!
I've been a subscriber to your channel for years,every now and then I notice that I don't get notifications on certain channels that I subscribe to and I have to get into my subscriber list and click on notifications again and again.
Any channel that has anything to do with the outdoors being self sufficient teaching any type of survival stuff hunting fishing knives pretty much any channel that falls into these groups youtube is shadow banning are out right shutting them down these days.
even my little dinky channel is having these same issues so your not the only one.
hell just about every video I make gets gigged and I have to request a review of it again to get it monetized these days.

TH-cam keeps doing this stuff because there's no real push back or consequences...YT will continue doing this until the user base stops being complaisant subordinates and actually stands up and says enough of the controlling BS...or just moves to a different platform (there are other options)
the arrogant people that run this platform have completely lost the plot and have made every conceivable effort to alienate its entire user base (viewers and content creators)...and because of that, the platform has been circling the drain...people that lack humility deserve failure
Nobody needs TH-cam...but TH-cam needs users and content creators to exist...clearly they've forgotten how that works...the user base is what really controls this platform, and the corporate people that "run" it need to be reminded of that.

It's been shit for a while, the depth has varied though. My homepage for so bad I started using my subscriptions tab again. You watch certain types of videos once, and that's your entire feed. You watch other videos multiple times and you get nothing on your feed. I think knife content definitely gets suppressed now just overall. If you want a billion recommendations, just watch like one fitness, cooking or health video, that will be your entire homepage immediately.
