I’m sorry about Simba but I’m glad he’s blessed to have such devoted parents like you! Love the Tesla videos. Thank you for consistently creating great content.
The trick with Tesla road trip and using Superchargers is to drive fast 75-85 mph and stop only at 250kwh chargers with 10-15 % of charged left then often to Tesla Superchargers. Never charge more than 80% state of charge.
Just found this vid. I've been enjoying your videos for a few days. We pick up our new MYLR tomorrow. Love the Oregon coast, driven/RV'd it many times from Santa Rosa. So sorry to hear about Simba, very tough losing our friends, but so glad you've given him the adventures.
I am so sorry about your dog. What a wonderful thing to do for him. It looks incredibly beautiful there. We would love to do that gorgeous drive but we’re one hour North of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hoping to go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this summer, in our Model Y. I’m sure it will be an adventure.
We wanted to eventually drive to Canada! We were so close to washington. Thanks so much! He's getting a ct scan again soon to see if the cancer his spreading now in his lungs so hope he's ok.
Keep up with the great content bro! The Tesla fans will come to your channel in no time. One of the best I follow. Prayers for Simba. My wife and I know how y’all feel. Our Frenchie has a heart tumor.
So sorry about your dog. It’s difficult to know you’re going to lose one of the family, but wonderful you could take an outing together he enjoys and you will remember. Gorgeous area!
Hey Chris, sorry to hear the situation of Simba. I grew up with a lot of dogs in our house and I understand how it is difficult to see the dog you love, care, and live with to be sick. You are a good dad to him. Just wanted to reach out and say I enjoy your videos a lot.

We normally drive to North Vancouver, BC from LA ( 1200 plus miles.) without stopping ( except for gas and food) using our ICE car 3-4 times a year. Thanks to you, we might try it in the TESLA.

I just finished a Hertz Model Y lr rental in Orlando. Here's what I though.... -Supercharging is WAY more expensive than I had anticipated -I love that the display shows you what the speed limit is where you are, thats cool! -No powered frunk? C'mon Elon, get with the program. I dislike that so very much. -So quiet! -Hard to find the FM radio as this rental didnt include premium connectivity and hooking my phone up to a rental seemed like not the best idea even though you can delete all info. -Loved the hvac! Used it 24/7 baby! -Loved the speed of the rear hatch open and closing. -Loved the field of view from drivers seat. Subaru quality! -Loved the rental coming with a charging cable. I used it on a Chargepoint charger. Excellent! -Not fond of the wood dash. Boomer-ish. -Loved the panoramic roof (and I hate sunroofs!). -Hertz locked me (and all Tesla rentals) out of the glovebox.... so no camera footage on MY usb drive! Bummer!!!! -Lastly, I think it's cheap as heck not to have cooled front seats. Road trips and sweaty bums dont mix.
Great vid. It's so funny that I've had a Tesla for over a year. I've done lots of roadtrips, but I still enjoy seeing videos of others doing roadtrips. lol. You've got doggo overload.
I like you videos It helps me to get a feel of how to drive my new M3 long range from Costa Mesa to Portland later this summer. One small advice is do not place the license plate on the dashboard in front of the passenger; if you make an emergency brake that plate will fly back and may hit the passenger. It happens to my friend car and luckily he has no passenger at the time.
Really sad about your doggo. Still missing our fam dog that passed last year. Doing almost the reverse of this trip this fall. Going from Seattle to So Cal. Thanks for sharing your insights and tips.
Hi Chris. Awesome trip videos and extremely useful trip tips. We have model Y on order and expecting delivery in Dec 2022. It would be awesome if you could add the price you have e to pay for each charging session to help us to understand and budget trips. Thanks so much for all the posts (Gerry in Sudbury Ontario Canada)
Very nice road trip up thru Northern CA and the stop at Kettleman City (City?) with the lounge is very cool, we stopped there on our way to Colorado just last week. About 12 250kW Superchargers there but they were full up so we backed into a 150 then an older Model S pulled out and we jumped to get in that slot before someone grabbed it. Elon, please put more 250s in KC!
Native Oregonian, and our coasts are beautiful. I visit the coast often and was curious about how it would work out since I'm looking at getting a Tesla in the next few months. Though to be fair the places I visit (newport, seaside, tilamook, Lincoln city) are fairly busy tourist towns so I don't imagine them having charging issues. I also do a road trip from Oregon to Texas every year and I go through california on the way back and hit highway 1. How are the chargers in that area?
How much does it cost to fully charge your battery when its low, and what was the total cost in charging at the end of the road trip. was it cheaper than gas? When will Tesla come up with a built in solar charger with a shrink fit solar skin rap for the body / generator or a alternator that keeps a constant charge on the batteries while driving, like the gas powered cars have. Just so your not restricted to a route that have charging station's along the way. Stopping and having to wait for a charge could be a hassle if your trying to get somewhere in a hurry. Plus what happens when you don't make it to the next charging station? I'm not tring to knock down the idea of electric cars, I actually support the idea, tired being held hostage to the Big Oil Companies. I think the E-car idea should be to strive for independence, so we aren't at the mercy of Big Oil or or Electric. When will it be affordable for people living on a low inciome.
About how much did it cost for the whole trip up to charge your car and about how many stops? Also, can you provide the name of the place you stayed at?
@@EverydayChris Just seeing your dogs on a few of your videos, it is clear that you have allowed Simba and your other dogs to live their best possible lives. Losing a good friend is heartbreakingly painful.
Could you do a video on battery degradation? I've read that people should not supercharge a Tesla, but other people told me it's fine. Even when I picked up my model 3 the Tesla guy said well, maybe once a week is okay to supercharge. But I watch like your videos and you supercharge a few times a day. I almost did not buy it because of this, he made it sound like I could not go on any trips. I've mostly rented cars because I'm scared to mess up the battery after the sales person told me that. If you have already done a video the subject could you let me know? Thanks.
Great video! I did see you mention that the vehicle would beep when even the passenger is using their phone while on auto pilot. Are even the passenger not allowed to use their phone while on auto pilot?
It’s only when the phone is in the center like if you’re recording the screen or something. If the passenger phone is in the passenger seat area it won’t beep
I have a question. For the hotels that have a Tesla destination charger. I hear you can be penalized for staying charging for a long time, how does that work for overnight parking? Like I know the non Tesla ev spots are fine, since they’re so slow anyway, but the actual Tesla superchargers, do you just park and top off in the morning or actually stay plugged in overnight?
Not for destination chargers. I usually charge up when I check in and leave after. But people who arrive late when I leave early morning they are still charging. So no real rules but be courteous

The cool thing is most of our destinations had free charging so we were able to charge to 100 there. Total for supercharging wasn’t bad at all was around around 80 dollars according to the app!
