ahhh thanks Chris, watching this video reminded me that I, as a woman, shouldn't wear tampons on a long trip. Thank you very much; I almost forgot I could get toxic shock syndrome! Can't wait for my Zion trip next week
@@EverydayChris haha but in all seriousness, props to you for being able to bring your Tesla around a national park like Zion! roads over there can get quite tough even for a non-EV!!
Great Video. I recently took a 1000 mile trip to Louisiana in my Model 3 SR+ and we had 110+ degrees at almost every supercharger. Wrapping a wet paper towel around the charging handle helps keep it cooler, and you will get better charging speeds.
Love the tesla content. But this video was amazing because of the Zion Narrows and Park. Beautiful views and amazing experience. I need to get out there one day. Thanks again for all your work on the videos. Hopefully, I should have my Tesla in the next week or so.
Great Video! First time Tesla owner here and were planning to go to Vegas (from San Diego) on Christmas and this video is an amazing help. Were just 3 my wife and kid + the luggage so hopefully it would be a smooth ride. Keep sharing your videos. We love it!!!
Great video! I always appreciated your honesty from your experience. Was it worth it with all the time wasted waiting for EV charging? I love Tesla for daily driving and the convenience of home charging. However, I’d prefer ICE when I take a long trip. I just don’t want to worry about the charging station and be limited on where I can go. Keep up the great work!
I have a RWD model 3 and I only get 275 miles but it’s closer to 255, and even with that I’ve traveled from austin Texas to Los Angeles and back twice. And never worried about charging. I think people don’t understand that the super chargers are super quick. I stopped every 2 hours on my trips or around that and charge up for about 10-15 minutes and would constantly go from about 65-95% over and over so my battery rarely went below 60%. Anyways once you get a Tesla and start driving you will get it. It’s not bad at all. Yeah some places don’t have over night chargers but then you can just use a super charger or a 3rd party to get you back to 100% in about 30 minutes of your really low
I think its worth it. as long as I have abrp I plan it all out and the tesla superchargers make it easy. RIVIAN and others on the other hand is very scary
I went to Vegas from Socal last week and stopped in Baker going there and back. Zion National Park looks amazing and will plan a trip there one day. Thanks for sharing Chris.
Absolutely amazing scenery. I envy your ability to make a hike like that. I would be a lot more reticent than you were to make that journey with the limits on charging. Thanks for a great video!
I watched part II first and I couldn’t figure out how you already had kids that were so old! I figured that you’re really tall, but some of them were pretty thick. I was revealed when you called them cousins. They could’ve been adopted? I need to watch part I! I love Zion and Yosemite Valley equally, except that Yosemite is only 200 miles away.
😂😂😂 my right toe is still bruised from this hike. And lol pee budddyyyyyy. SUCH A FUN WEEKEND! 🥳 oh no the nail! Yeah we always stop at yermo and Alex pays way too much for beef jerky 😅
Sir, I purchased the replikas a couple weeks ago but forgot to ask you if you are using the stock bolts or did you buy some if so which ones? Pickup is next week and I am going through the must haves and a couple of needs 😂... Keep up the great work 💯
Awesome vid dude! Great that you shared details about ABRP, destination charging and the false sense of security with AP. Not so great the details about those women things. 😵 Brave soul you are for sharing that. LOL. Anyway, glad you're home safe. ✌
250 kW (V3) chargers are not only newer, faster, and not shareable, so the turnover is also faster, meaning any waits are shorter than they are at 150 kW chargers.
Great trip video, thanks Chris. I drive the I40 all the time on a long 3 day trip from the Bay Area to SW Colorado. I'm planning to do a trip thru Vegas, Zion, Page and the Escalante and Bears Ears wilderness. Charging will be a real challenge with some double-back travel necessary to get a charge. You and the boys are champs for doing that Zion Narrows hike, I'll try for some of it (maybe!). Cheers and drive safely.
Nice bro!! Well today is an exciting day, my tesla model 3 got delivered!!! It's at tesla waiting for me on Saturday 12pm!! Brand new😁👍, never got a used one to much negative I heard about it!!
@Everyday Chris I think it is great that you and your wife are so open about the time of her month and hilarous that you had spoke about the Victoria Secret panties! so funny!! Tesla mobile chargers? Never heard of that..Why not take the Lexus? I do not think you would have had that range anxiety and it is more smoother? We have the same one...
Have you checked out our Oregon videos? it's the self driving and charging for us that makes us love tesla's. they put superchargers in cool areas too so you find new stuff on roaddtrips!
Great video! Just wondering, are you filming with a phone? There are some parts with some weird jittering that looks like a phone's stabilization software kicking in.
Nio started talking about 150kwh battery. Looks like thing might gonna shift in the next 2-3y. We are still okay with "270miles" range, - but would love to have for sure at least twice.
I think this would be very nice, but we also have to remember that a big battery in every car can be wasteful. For the average person, city commute is quite sufficient. It'd be nice if there was a super long range option though, and it'd be worth it for people who's use case involved roadtripping long distances
@@Byronseto lets assume that 300 miles battery will be short range and 600 miles extended :). I think honestly 300 miles should be minimal range for the car (including battery degradation cycle, so it will be enough for you in 5-10y)
So what’s up with recondition before charging or taking off can u explain that. I order my model Y and would like to know so I’m aware of what I have to do. U less u have a video of what you have to do
The car will precondition the battery for you when you are heading to a supercharger. All you need to do is just set the navigation to navigate to the charger and the car will do the rest for you as you drive. As for taking off, you can schedule your departure time and the car will precondition the battery and make sure that the interior temp is set to what you have set it at. Example for me, I have my departure time set at 7am weekdays, so the car will make sure that the is battery charged and temperature is what I set it to right before 7am. So everything is good to go for me when I need to leave.
Awesome trip dude. I noticed you have aftermarket wheels but car avatar on screen shows hubcaps, you might want to change that for more accurate calculations.

There is almost nothing after st George UT until getting close to SLC. Even w ICE car, the gas stations are wild spread apart.

Stock all stock!!!
why didn’t you stay at a hotel with a destination charger?
Did you ever find it inconvenient to have to plan around charging? How would you trip have been difference if you took the Lexus?
Yes but only for zion. More gas stations in Springdale! But we have road trip videos went to oregon twice and no issues
Once again Chris, great video!
Thanks again!

I did camping at zions where I took my model 3, and I booked an rv camp ground so that I could use the outlet to charge my car

Hey Chris can you make a video explaining your perspective of the proposed EV tax credit?
Sure!
Do you have data showing hot weather (110 to 120 F) with full air conditioning on in city driving, and on highway vs no air?
Why did you rent gear? Is that special boots for water?
Yea needed for the long hike as well as the stick!
Great video! Just wondering, are you filming with a phone? There are some parts with some weird jittering that looks like a phone's stabilization software kicking in.
yah for the roadtrips its on the iphone. I need a small good dslr let me know if you know of any for videos
@@EverydayChris Actually I was going to suggest maybe a used GoPro for those more "active" shots like in the narrows. Hope Simba is doing better!
Oh I did that!
I love this #tesla Channel
Damn nice new thumbnail!
Great video!! Your friends in the back slam your doors way to hard!!
They crazy
Seriously Tesla should just put Superchargers in all National Parks where a lot of Tesla owners go 🤔 Seem like a no brainier 🤨.
Yeah why
I guess we should definitely bleed some air from the tires when in super hot climates. no spares.
Agree

Did you fix your tire after you got back OC?
yah went to america's tire the next day. did a how to plug a tire video and got it replaced!
What is that clip on the right side of the steering wheel? I checked the accessories video and I didn't see him talking about it.
its one of those blacksheep accessories that was discontinued due to safety issues. It reduces the steering nag while on autopilot
