  • We share how we analyze a dynograph to help us fine tune the gear ratio and or final drive. With the available gears and final drive from Mfactory it makes the job alot more fun and easier.

      Yes! Something that’s mostly not talked about cuz the focus is always just peak power

      Whoa! thanks guys! And it’s those details that aren’t talked about + even the Mfactory website has the best calculator to figure it out (as seen it’s what we use hehe)

    Great info I always remember I had civic type r and vti and found vti faster because of longer gears and my driving style and prove it by always beating type r,s it's not always about power and shortest gearing

      So so true and the VTi has a 90mm stroke 😎 even on the dyno it usually pushes more torque than a fellow 1600 with a smaller stroke

      @@SRDmotorsports that's interesting didn't know that makes since I prefer toqure over power why I drive .. a vti with bit work done with type r cams and inlet and exhaust be a strong engine

      Yes sir! Was actually talking to Zeff the other night about his friend’s set up and he had a dynograph so we were checking if a final drive change would help and I realized hmm this is worth making a video and sharing
      Needless to say Zeff was as excited for the video 😂

    Here’s another B16a dyno session that this time was built by us…you can figure out the preferred tranny you think would work best!

    In short lakas parin ng makina tlga kasi kung gearing ka mag iba lng driving style mag higher final drive ka mabilis nga kambyo pero baba naman speed mo

    Great info Ralf but I had a question on the limiter in the calculator or labeled as shift point...seems p misleading because its saying the limit of each gear is calculated via the limiter (9500 rpm) which makes sense. a 4.7 would top 3rd at probably 93mph with that limiter and tire but what is that shift point calculation for?
    Also would be good to note for those running a fatter tire, your effective gear ratios will be longer. its like moving to a lower final drive via your tire. so if u have a 225/45 for example or 225/50, the 4.7 might work better for u. i do that alot with my cars to adjust drivability. just run big af OD in the front haha

    • @SRDmotorsports
      @SRDmotorsports  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      On the calculator that’s the rpm/mph u have at “that” shift point
      As noticed we do the shift point way after peak power and it’s “set” to where we find that ideal in reference to the next gear pick up…
      It’s why Jasper’s b20vtec (the ef) shifts at 9,700rpm when everyone would have shifted at 9,200
      On the tires yes notice I did mention and show the tires are set to the dia. They used which was 23in
      but the amount u gave up with the 4.7 ? You would need atleast a 26in tire 😂
      hint* less sidewall = less initial grip
      It’s why lower profile tires spin WAY more

      but very nice tidbit here and thank you for this because I know a lot don’t tend to factor in those tidbits that affect the overall drive 😎

    • @ogswagkillapbeastmode694
      @ogswagkillapbeastmode694 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SRDmotorsports yes correct about the tire. i personally run up to 24in tires on my cars for the street but man slicks is a whole different game. those wheels OD hit 26 ive seen it.
      But you are right for the most of us 4.4 will probably do us better especially because u can stretch 1st gear thats already going to be short. if anything b16 ratios are the best with 4.4 for most or 4.2 final for high power b20vs

    • @SRDmotorsports
      @SRDmotorsports  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ogswagkillapbeastmode694 I agree on the b16 gears and 4.4 it’s like a good medium for a lot of engine types and uses
