You have Paolo Maldini from like 1985-96 playing LB, you have Andreas Brehme who was instrumental for West Germany and Inter Milan in the late 80s
english bias :P

The pele disrespect reeks of ignorance. He was widely regarded as the best player in the 60s and you can see why by just watching his games. His goal record is bs but it shouldnt be disregarded completely as the brazilian league was one of the best leagues in the world at the time. Pele also performed against european opposition in intercontinental club competitions and the world cup. The goat should be decided between the best player from each era, and thats why the debate should include pele too. He should certainly have a spot at the all time xi.
The level of football was so low back then, the defensive structures were a joke
@@hashemamine5441 ok and? Doesnt change the fact that pele dominated. If it was so easy to score goals why didnt everybody do so?

@@Kugann bican is nearly 30 years older than pele so i dont really know why you brought him up tbh. Footbal was way different in 1930s so my point still stands. Nobody was as dominant as pele during the 1960s.

Obviously we can’t put players that we never saw play but you can always hear about them from the older generation. Football has evolved way more, everything from the rules to the style of play to fitness and technology. Those players were legendary for that time period but quality of teams and players now is undeniably better.
What major rules have changed lmao? The 6 second rule is it?
@@Josh-pj7tq Rules are certainly more stricter now, if not changed there certainly enforced much more.
@@vPzWalkerx How does something like stronger enforcing fouls mean anything other than older players being tougher and playing in more difficult circumstances.
@@Josh-pj7tq You're not "tougher" if the official doesn't call it a foul.
Someone could dive in 2 footed and be given an applause for a great tackle, someone does that now and there instantly set off and called an idiot who lost there head. Neither player is tougher than the other in this scenario.
