My all time 11 (4-3-1-2): Neuer, Cafu, Beckenbauer, Maldini, Facchetti, Xavi, Neeskens, Zidane, Messi, Pele, Cr7. Substitutes(7): Yashin, Baresi, Matthaus, Maradona, Nazario Ronaldo, R. Carlos, Cruyff.
Notable exclusions(can easily walk into any world Xi): Pirlo, Iniesta, G. Best, Buffon, Gerd Muller, Dani Alves, Platini, Di Stefano, Rijkaard, Scirea, Garrincha, Breitner, Puskas, Dinho, Ramos, Henry, P. Lahm, Scholes, Iker Casillas, M. Desailly, L. Suarez, Modric, Cannavaro, P. Vieira.
Reasons behind selection: Cafu and Facchetti will be the key attacking fullbacks in this side who are adept at attack and defense to compensate the lack of pure wingers in the squad upfront. Messi takes a central 10 role, Pele and Cr7 are the wide forwards with Pele operating freely and Ronaldo in a more 4-4-2ish striker role getting support from the flanks with exceptional playmakers as Messi and Zizou behind. This side is loaded with technicians and masterminds who are phenomenal with the ball in keeping possession as well as distributing either horizontally with short passes or vertically and diagonally with ping passes and accurate long balls (here Beckenbauer and Neeskens come into play whereas Xavi dictates the tempo).

Best player ever is very subjective. There's more to football than Messi and Ronaldo. You could make an argument for at least 20 players to be the greatest ever. Messi is outstanding at a lot of things but so are a litany of others. Pele, CR7, R9, Puskas, Di Stefano, Maradona and Eusebio are/were all comparable talents and that's just the forwards.

Koeman, Seedorf, Chilavert, Peter Schmeichel, Costacurta, Romario, Del Piero, Roberto Baggio, David Villa, Batistuta, Maradona, Pirlo, Totti, Thuram, Buffon, Casillas, Bergkamp, Muller, Sammer, Scholes, Shearer, Henry, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Shevchenko, Ruud Gullit, Vialli, Desailly, Roy Keane, Vieira,
If i had to choose 11 from those....
    Romario David Villa
    Ronaldinho Seedorf
    Pirlo
    Vieira
    Koeman Costacurta Thuram
    Sammer
    Casillas

Some interesting choices.. And I do think a) it's very difficult to settle on an all time 11 in general, because there simply have been too many greats at several positions many of whom would easily be equally deserving.. b) because it also really depends on the system, so technically you would almost have to do an all time 11 for every formation.. Next consideration is, do you just go with a random squad based on percepted best talent - or would you try and put a squad together that could actually work well..? Personally, I am always learning towards the latter (which is why I think the Barcelona midfield trio is a perfectly reasonable choice).

Some players who haven't got much of a mention and ought to be in the mix -
Javier Zanetti. What a player. Longevity, adapting his game, just will go under everyone's radar.
Alan Hansen. He was unbeatable in his prime. You'd be hard pressed to find a finer ball-playing Central Defender.
Sinisa Mihailovic. Not only for his incredible set pieces, but for his aggressive and determined play, he was a winner through and through.
Clarence Seedorf. Could do it all. Slotted into any role in midfield and did it as good as anyone else could.
George Best - Britain's finest ever player.
Miroslav Klose. He is the World Cup top scorer for a reason. His timing, never wasting motion, is unrivalled in football.
    Hugo Sanchez. What a player.
Roy Keane/Patrick Viera/Steven Gerrard - defined their teams. Made them tick. Got you a goal right when you needed it.

The first time I watched this video I was wondering why JJ's comment about playing midfielders at RB elicited so much emotion from Alex. Now, having just watched "Tifo's All-Time Premier League XI" video: I understand the call-back and I am now apart of this inside joke and honestly I think my year has been made already.

I had a football magazine back in the day that had a picture of OG ronaldo. The left page was a defender sprinting as hard as they can. The right page was ronaldo running through. They were both near the middle of the magazine so looked close - but it was a fold out picture that when you pulled the right page showed there was two pages of empty grass between them. Don’t know if I described it well, but it’s an image I’ll never forget. He’d make my team just for that

I am extremely surprised Diego Maradona and Pele were not in any of the lists. I think Maradona will be selected by most managers ahead of Messi for the same position in a fantasy team. Sad to see players like Maradona not getting the referee’s protection like presently.

27:32 This is a bit similar to when people say music was way better in the 70's och 80's or whatever point in time, compared to today. A lot of times they mostly say that because decades later it's just the best of the best music of those times that is remembered today. The bad stuff is forgotten. Meanwhile you hear all the bad stuff of today and dont realise that will mostly be forgotten in a few decades and the masterpieces will be what we think about when we talk about 2010's music
