Can’t wait to hear Rory say how Ashley Cole is comparable to maradona and Robert Carlos and that foreign fans agree for the 20th time
Swear I've heard him say that 1000 times at this point
Why you hating on Ashley Cole?
he is comparable to roberto carlos tho. Best player of his position for several years
Hes slowly turning into Margaret Thatcher
He is correct though.
How do those this channel not have any graphic editing so we can see the players you have put in???
Laziness mostly.
Good luck with that. They don’t even describe the game of football they’re watching when they’re live.
In my opinion it's for viewership. If they put a graphic at the end people would just skip the video to the end just to see the side they picked rather than watching throughout
I think they did this live and this is just a snippet
@@lewisaspden3217It’s genuinely impressive how little they acknowledge the game at hand
You can’t talk about players you’ve never seen. It’s entirely pointless.
I agree but you can also never call it all time either.
@@joescott5322 Agreed. Video title - England's All-Time XI!
Then within the first 2 minutes it is said it is not the all time XI it is a recent XI...
It's not pointless fuck me guess you're 12 and think everything before 2015 doesn't matter
People talk about pele like he was the greatest thing ever but most people alive today haven’t even seen him play
The disrespect of this generation is a joke
My god did Buvey seriously say Foden was a better footballer then John Barnes. Please please don't speak on things you clearly have no idea about. Just say I've never seen John Barnes kick a football. And yes John Barnes could dictate play from Central midfield. Just watch any John Barnes game post injury. Went from the best winger in the country to the best midfielder in the country.
😂😂 I laughed so hard at that part. Between 87-91 Barnes was something else.
🗣️🤣💀
The disrespect for Shearer is unreal. Buvey said he isn't World Class, what drugs is Buvey taking?
He wasn't. Shearer was never even a top 10 striker in the world.
Rooney barely was a top 10 striker.
Cannot remember one moment from foden in euro 2020 what is buvey on about 🤣🤣
He played the first game in the group stages with his Gascoigne trim did absolutely horribly and never played again for the rest of the tournament
@@Shhhhhhhhhjjhe hit the post lol. Your Name just says it all about your low life. Touch grass
@@Shhhhhhhhhjj that’s what I was going to say wasn’t he literally pushed out the team by Saka 🤣
@@Cbfbxvzg well he broke his foot against Denmark
@@ManchesterCitySupremacythe semi final? He had the entire tournament to do something relevant 😂
What is this narrative that foden “ran” a champions league final? Literally had one moment then ghosted the rest of the game.
One moment that you remember from a TH-cam short lol he doesn’t have to score a hat trick to run a champions league final
@@chapman2001 no that’s literally the only thing I remember him doing and I’ve never seen a TH-cam short of it what are you on about?
@@chapman2001he also has to do a lot also he was a sub, I’m pretty sure Jack grealish had more play time than him in the final
@@chapman2001Foden didn't run the game though
did Buvey really put up Foden for an ALL TIME ENGLAND XI 😭😭
And over Barnes too 😂😂
Well they got Scholes in who was absolutely terrible for England. Never did anything and then retired
He ain’t even had 2 Good England performances🤣
And on the left 🤣
he loves spitting delusional shit he always does this haha
I swear Rory looks different every week. His hair randomly grows rapidly😂 1 minute he looks rough with short hair and stubble and then a week later he’s got long hair and no beard and looks 14 again. Mad to think he’s about 40
He’s trying different styles because the lighting exposes how bald he is on top. He now uses a sort of fluffy comb over technique to hide it.
@@WaniZame He's got full head of hair never going bald what talking about 😂😂
He's 41 next month
@@celticbarry9877is he that old? Himself and Goldbridge look young for their ages. Like Rory looks 31.
@@nffclaceynah not gonna lie he does have a pretty big bald spot on top. There was a video a while ago when he dropped his head down and you could see how he was covering it
Buvey - Shearer only has one PL title
Next minute - Rooney and KANE…what a combination
I don’t understand why people hold Kane to this god of England status when he is the biggest winner on a scale of only losers.
Also England's all time leading scorer. I'd have him in over shearer based on England contribution.
I'm having shearer, fowler or Owen over kane
This is for England, so none of them have won anything at international level.
@@YTA5690 But international football is one element but Shearer won a prem with Blackburn Rovers
@@benkrieser4199 no he didn't 😂
Another painful watch. Foden might be the most overrated player of all time.
Na Roberto Carlos probably is
Gerrard exists
Saka 🤣 they seriously suggested him over Beckham
@@Rob07544saka has done more for England in terms of performance and goals/ assists then foden has ever done for the white shirt yet foden was a serious debate in this video, now tell me which one is more overrated out of the two. Muppet
@@paramtageja6891Gerrard overrated? What a laugh.
Buvey says Shearer doesn’t get in the team because a lack of trophies and 3 mins late says Saka will never get in because trophies isn’t what matters 😂🙃 swear he’s cartoon character, just there to say stupid things to annoy people. He cannot be seriously there for his actual insight
Buvey shows that Man City fans know nothing about football. Shearer was the best pure number 9 but Kane/Rooney combination as a 9/10 gets them in over shearer but it doesn't negate Shearer was a world class finisher. 96 Golden boot + 2 goals at WC 98 and 2 goals at Euro 2000.
Shearer is an absolute lock in this team. In my opinion there is only one argument that you might use to delude yourself into thinking he isnt and that would be facilitating around a central midfield that is lacking in defensive rigidity, by selecting Rooney to shore up that weakness.
I loved the 'he has only won 1 premier league' yet he picks Harry Kane 😂
Trying to compare Foden to John Barnes is absolutely insane. John Barnes is better than Foden now, and in the future.
Madness😂. The disrespect on Barnes is shocking
Would have been Chris waddle for me on the Left, Waddle or Barnes anyhow. No shout for Hoddle in the centre?
Also Kyle walker over Neville 😂 walker only has pace
No mention of Bryan Robson?? The complete central midfielder. Also 26 goals in 90 international games for a CM is mental.
before their time tbh, but adam should of said him tho
But they mentioned john Barnes @@samuelbrown3326
As soon as Rory said Le-Saux over Pearce....that was the final straw in me giving the guy any acknowledgement at all....Honestly that comment is laughable!!! This guy's whole knowledge focuses around most of the Prem era and Chelsea bias only! For someone of his age, he is so narrowminded and ignorant of what is ability and isn't!!!
Agree...Kenny Samson was miles above Le Saux, let alone Pearce..
Video title - England's All-Time XI!
Then within the first 2 minutes it is said it is not the all time XI it is a recent XI...
Crazy
Ik it was a bit of a joke but arguing about the quality of the man for sol Campbell just to put Terry in instead was crazy 🤣
If they’d include quality of the man as a category, not a single member of the 2002-2006 Golden Generation is getting in this XI 🤣
To simply fob off Shearer for Kane is ridiculous. I STAN with Shearer!
This is for England not for Premier Leaguem none of them have had success for England.
Gazza this gazza that. Steven Gerrard single handedly got England into the Brazil World Cup in 2014
The fact that Gary Linker wasn't even mentioned as a shout for best England striker is crazy to me, and I'm not even English.
how Micah Richards not being mention I dont know ? so disrespectful . he burst onto the scene
Title is misleading, this is not an “All-Time XI”. Just a bizarre video idea if you’re going to ignore the one successful side England has had. I understand the desire to include players you’ve seen been Buvey is right, this is just a 1990’s-2020’s best XI
Ultimate England Team and you’re not going to include the World Cup winning Captain? Genius.
This list has almost no correlation with the national team.
This is an English 11 based loosely on the national team.
Phil Foden been discussed having done nothing for England & had 1 top level season at Man City who almost gurantee trophies.
Meanwhile Raheem Sterling was England best player when they reach Euro final was glossed over.
Raheem Sterling contributed alot more then Foden ever has for Man City during there best spells & contributed to more league titles and trophies.
Raheem Sterling had similar output as Foden did last season & similarly was viewed as arguably PL player of the year when City beat during 98 point title race where Liverpool lost it by 1.
City that season won the domestic treble + won league with 98 points with Sterling as the best player.
Foden won 1 trophy during a period where City won 6 titles in 7 years including a current 4-peat.
All it took was Phil Foden to have a great season for him to be viewed as Balon D'or level & he must be in an All-time 11.
City won a treble year prior with Foden hardly being involved as key player.
Fans are such aesthetic merchants.
You can't even use the trophy argument against Sterling otherwise it can't be used for Foden.
Sterling has 123 goals in the Premier league at 29.
Sterling is a much better LW then Phil Foden & winger in general.
They've got Scholes in who never had a good game for England
@@paramtageja6891 Scholes definitely had great games for England in qualifying.
Agreed
Not even a mention for Bryan Robson in midfield?! I thought Flav and Rory were a bit older and would therefore understand the levels he was at.
Exactly what I was thinking
. 1-Seaman
2-Walker 5-Rio 4-Terry 3-Cole
7-Beckham 8-Gerrard 6-Scholes 11-Barnes
10-Rooney 9-Kane
That's a great team, I'd change kane for shearer but that's only my opinion
No Moore, Charlton, Banks or Hurst?
@@ManchesterCitySupremacy based on the lads rule of players I’ve watched. Otherwise yea absolutely 👍
@@ManchesterCitySupremacy How many full 90s have you watched of those players?
@@bengreenbankHe is a man city fan. He only found out about football a few years ago.
Not even mentioning Ian Wright is insanity to me😬
Shearer was still hitting double figures in his last season. In the prem. He only didn't hit double figures 3 times and that was when he was injured.
Seaman best goalkeeper?
Leighton Baines not being second best left back?
Neville over Walker? What am I watching
For me
Seaman, Neville, Pearce, Adams, Rio, gazza, Scholes, Becks, Platt, Shearer, and Lineker
For Buvey's benefit, I tried to put together an XI based on my limited understanding of football history (4-2-2-2):
GK: G Banks (the only ENG GK I've ever heard of getting respect from foreign fans, even if it is mostly for that one save!)
RB: V Anderson (no real outstanding candidates here TBH. Take your pick from Neville, Madeley, Neal, Walker, TAA, Steven etc)
CBs: R Ferdinand & B Moore (think they'd compliment each other's games well with a bit of luck)
LB: As Cole (think Rory overrates him, but obv choice.)
DCM: D Edwards (what might have been, but was already Ballon d'Or podiumist and best player on league winning teams without that)
CM: B Robson (Beckham vs Greece, but every week. Just unlucky with injuries, and maybe picking United over Liverpool)
RAM: T Finney (versatile, two-footed, great crosser, passer and dribbler and solid goal scorer. Less selfish than Matthews)
LAM: B Charlton (first name on the team sheet. Only Englishman with a Ballon d'Or, WC winners medal and UCL winners medal)
CF: K Keegan (hard working star. Did it at home and in Germany. Two time Ballon d'Or winner)
S: J Greaves (highest scoring human in the big 5 euro leagues' history*. Peaked early, but peaked highest of all England's great strikers)
Obvs many, many players unlucky not to get in. Probably closest to putting Rooney in over Keegan of all those that didn't make it. Picked a formation that avoids having a LW but still relatively weak areas in RB and DM I guess. Might have mentioned the Ballon d'Or too many times during that list! Oh well.
* if you believe Messi and CR7 aren't human anyway. Though I've also heard G Muller might be #3, rather than Greaves. I dunno, depends who you ask it seems.
That's a great, great team. Good choices
Buvey... Foden over Barnes??? People are calling for foden to be dropped today against slovenia, let alone making a best XI.
not even mentioned waddle - think you need to watch his highlights reel at OM
Foden is nowhere near John Barnes level yet
Gerrard was the greatest Premier League mdifielder of all time. He could excel in any midfield role.
So why were we over run with gerrard - Lampard midfield
@@WasimAhmed-zp2cmbecause of coaching, we needed a linchpin behind them and we didn't have it
But his performances for England were generally sub par (same can be said for Lampard and Scholes).

LM: Geoff Hurst

I thought he made some decent choices
Players you haven’t seen play is certainly relevant but not when it’s being discussed by TH-camrs… let football historians who know their stuff argue that, if you’re a fan though just talk about what you’ve seen
Scholes has done nothing for England, Gerrard is a better all round player compared to Lampard and Scholes.
Scholes literally dominated midfield against the likes of zidane
Lampard has done more than Gerrard for England.
Gerrard has been solely at fault for being knocked out at world cup 2014 and losing to France is 2004, both being silly back passes.
@@WasimAhmed-zp2cmGerrard was in the Euro team of the tournament, I don’t think Lampard has ever done that well for England in a tournament. And Gerrard basically has to sacrifice his best position so they could fit Lampard in

You have to have Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton in an all time eleven even if you didn’t watch them, they actually did something for the country unlike everyone in this video. It’s like not putting pele in an all time Brazil 11.
Geoff Hurst too
@@ChronicTheHempHog-mf3nhyeah but Geoff hurts wasn’t even the best English striker in 66.

Walker is already ahead of Gary Neville.
Flav is the only sensible one here. Kane above Shearer? Gimme a break
Campbell over Terry
Does Buvey know who John Barnes was? The best winger this country has seen and then moved into the middle later on and became a leader and controller of the game. One of the most gifted players this country has ever seen
Always though Giggz followed John Barnes in that aspect.
No running visual of the team as you build it?
Didn't want us skipping to the end, just to see the names?

Some of you are older than me and you don’t mention Des Walker??
Not a single one of these people saw John Barnes play anywhere near his peak.
Rory is 41 years old in a month mate. He would’ve seen John Barnes in his peak while he was a kid.
Besides Bobby Charlton...Paul Gascoigne is the best creative midfield has ever had....There is nothing romantic about choosen Paul over Gerald ( different players cos i would out him alongside him) he was a better midfield than Lamps
Better for England than Scholes....If Paul Gascoigne went to Man united he would have won everything as well..thats how good he was
I love buvey and respect that he made the right call that Gerrard should be in midfield but he was so wrong on Barnes. Barnes was unbelievable

Do this every year
Can’t believe no talked about Gary Lineker for ST and Chris Waddle for Wingers or Stuart Pearce for LB.
Paul Ince was one of the best midfielders in England. I would say he was better for England than Steven G, Lampard and Scholes. He had a great club career as well.
Hence why Roh Keane had Paul Ince in his all time best for Man United team
Roy Keane a bitter twat because Scholes is rated more highly by United fans and his former team mates plus the lies of Henry and Pep.
I think you forgot about marcelo he was better in his prime
Noone will ever overtake Beckham, based entirely on his brand. Unless Bellingham becomes a right midfielder, it will still be Becks in 20 years

In terms of midfield its gazza and gerrard for me
If they mentioned the likes of John barnes etc I’m surprised they never mentioned lineker he was amazing
If it's English XI that includes club and national performances/career (1996-2024 for me)...

Rooney---Kane
4-3-3
--------
Seaman
Walker---Stones---Campbell---Cole
Gerrard---Carrick---Scholes
Sterling---Rooney---McManaman
All Time
-------------
Banks, Gazza, Moore, Charlton, Platt, Lineker all could get in various formations.
McMannman has to be LW in a 4-4-2 though he was better in a more flexible system hence why he was used by Venables in the wing back system. He won 2 European cups with Madrid, scoring in one of those finals and he was superb at Liverpool before that.
Zidane described McManaman as one of the highest quality players he ever played with.
2021-2022 alone For Real Madrid, McMannman completed 83% of his passes and while that figure only fell to 82% in the Champions League. He also had a 88% dribbling completion rate.
Buvey did make a legitimately good point about how this does largely feel like a Golden generation discussion, but then I thought about the midfield conersation. Of the modern options, Calvin Phillips and Jordan Henderson simply don't enter the debate, and the likes of Jude, Rice and Mainoo are far too early in their careers to be worth mentioning.
5:32 By didn't play much at all did Buvey mean didn't play at all? Yes Danny Mills took Neville's place but you would hope that given the choice, Sven Goran Eriksson would pick the guy who hasn't got a broken foot.
Seaman,
Walker, Rio, Terry, Cole.
Gascoine, Ince, Scholes.
Beckham, Shearer, Rooney.
That's the team. 433 simply because there hasn't been a great left player in a flat 4. Plus I think the workrate of both players on both flank in a modern system in international football would be absurd, especially with the workrate of Ince, and passing ability of Gazza and Scholes.
11.58 Buber channelling his inner David Brent
Yes Rory Sherringham was so much better then Cole that’s why Cole kept Sherringham on the bench for the 99 season 😂
If you'd seen tony adams play you'd change your mind i believe, he was truly immense (i'm a liverpool fan). Not just the player but the leadership qualities, drive, fire and will to win
Also john barnes was insane, walks into this team imo.
Peter Shilton not getting mentioned made me feel old
. Seaman
Rio Terry Cambell
Walker Cole
Beckham Scholes Gerrard
Rooney Kane
I think a lot of the debate is lost by removing anyone they hadn't seen/watched. Buvey was right, it just became a 50/50 debate between the 'golden generation' and the current team. We all know that a large number of the 1966 team get in.
So Im 50 yo. From the players I have seen, I would personally pick
Kane Rooney
Barnes--Robson--Gascoigne--Beckham
A.Cole--Adams--Ferdinand (Moore)--G. Neville
Shilton
Rooney over Shearer for all-round ability.
Barnes was the best dribbler of the ball I've ever seen.
Beckham and G. Nev for the synergy. Best right sided I've seen.
If u would allow me Moore lol I've never seen Moore play live but I've watch many full games from the 66 70 World. If not, then Ferdinand is perfectly acceptable.
Defense speaks for themselves.
edit: I completely disagree wth McKola about Gascoigne. That lad was incredible during Italia 90. Most naturally talented English alongside Rooney.
The level of disrespect to John Barnes in this video was shocking.
Paul Ince for CM & Bryan Robson some ballers
Not sure how old you guys are but surprised Des Walker didn’t get a mention, in his prime one of the best in the world
Adams has to be in there & Campbell, side note the Shearer disrespect has to be trolling if not I’m lost for words
Buvey trying to squeeze in Foden on LW is mental. Dudes stinking up the gaff at LW in the last 2 weeks 😂😂. Gascoine was beautiful to watch but best English 11?? Not a chance. Scholes and Lampard all day. Winners the pair of them, win trophies is what they do.
Gerrard is brilliant but he's just not got that winners pedigree the other 2 have.
The disrespect for Shearer "Overrated!" Whilst outscoring the likes of Henry, Bergkamp, Cantona. By far, the best pure Premier League striker England has had.
This should be a quick video. Just pick the 1966 team
They made it about players in their lifetime to avoid this very thing
Not entirely. George Cohen wasn’t better than Kyle Walker. Martin Peters wasn’t better than Paul Gascgoine and Roger Hunt wasn’t better than Harry Kane
No mention of Lineker?
Sorry the disrespect in the backline for modern day, because this England team has been in semi finals and finals the ‘Golden Gen’ couldn’t even qualify properly
