Something worth mentioning, Trinisphere makes it so you HAVE to spend 3+ mana on your creatures (and everyone else so its good to slow people down) so at the cost of a little bit of efficiency, you can draw off of every creature including your llanowar elves.
@@launibaderdeen6746 imma be real chief, i dont feel very creative for that. I just applied the logic that you could for the older jodah and any spell with converge that costs less that 5 mana. Like that one black draw spell that costs 3 but with jodah you can cast it for wubrg to draw more than the card intends for you to be able to. Painful truths i think is the name of it.
And since your deck would be able to pound out mana production like crazy, good ol’ 3ball doesnt slow you down much. Surprised mitch never mentioned Kinan bonder prodigy since this is a simic dorks deck as well.
Important to note it makes perfect sense that Inga has a chariot pulled by cats, because the Norse goddess Freya, whom she is a reference to, has a chariot pulled by cats. If I remember correctly the cats were a wedding present from Odin.
This might fit pretty well into the 99 of a Jodah the Unifier deck just off of the decent sized legendary body and team-wide vigilance, which is always a plus when you have beefy creatures (which you always will when Jodah's on the field). That mana dork and card draw effect would just be butter on top to go bigger faster.
I picked up this card for 0,65 euro in 2024, traded it into my elf ball in place of lathril. absolutely and completely insane if it pops off. the commander is just redundancy and reliability of what I wanted the deck to do anyway so it's just making it a surefire way of working. really liked it and im never going back to lathril/golgari for my elf ball. it's this thing and simic all the way forever from now on. there are some completely crazy simic elves and you can get stuff like tishana for the top end. 5/5 card, can go for nuts board states and the memey vibes of the art made me fall in love with it.
This is perfect for a Sissay/Elk deck! Are you kidding me? Couldn’t run Essika normally due to the elk’s pip restriction. This is just what it’s needs 😂
What about the stuff that makers your lands into creatures? Ambush Commander, Kamahl's Will, Life and Limb, Living Lands, Living Plane, Nature's Revolt, Nissa Steward of Elements, Nissa Worldwalker, Rude Awakening, Sylvan Awakening, Tatyova Steward of Tides, Thelonite Druid plus of course something to make your Lands Indestructible for wipe protection. This route looks quite strong
A bit of a mythology lesson might be worth sharing here. The cat chariot actually comes from Norse mythology. Freya was gifted the cats by Thor, so she could attend her son, Baldur’s funeral. As for the rainbow, it takes influence from Bifrost, the rainbow in Norse mythology that connects the realm of the humans to the realm of the gods. While that perished in Ragnarok, it seems to be going strong here in the war against phyrexia. By the way, since the two characters that comprise this commander come from Kaldheim, it’s a HUGE flavor win! 😊
@@captianbacon fair enough. I know wizards is only using subtypes from the characters that comprise these pairings, but I do feel that’s a missed opportunity.
My mind immediately goes to convoke... Would a convoked creature count as mana paid? Or is it a substitute cost.. Just a simple thought I could probably look it up!
interesting but I bet "mana from creatures" is probably the answer. The creatures need to produce mana that mana needs to be used from your mana pool or at time of payment for the creature spell. I had to look it up convoke isn't an alternate or additional cost and is applied at the end of figuring out the spells payment and specifically states creatures w/ "tap: add mana" cannot be used to tap for mana and then tap for convoke. Same thing with sacrificing a creature to activate a mana ability like phyrexia altar! Great question!

I'm kinda surprised they didn't lean into a potentially interesting Simic Aristocrats sort of deal with Inga caring alot about death and esika caring about mana, feels like a missed opportunity and the final product just turned out really generically okay.
It's funny that OG (yeah, I said it) Esika also makes your creatures dorks, but nobody cares because they just look at the bridge. I have a Gruul Esika legendary/Bard Class deck that is super fun, the only problem is convincing people on Spelltable that it is a mid power ESIKA deck, not playing the bridge.
AH, YES! Another Simic Commander that can win the game out of the blue... Reminder... for the finisher / alternate wincon, 1. Cyclonic Rift *Overloaded* + Shaman of Forgotten Ways *Formidable ability* 2. Thassa's Oracle / Jace, Wielder of Mysteries / Laboratory Maniac : for drawing your whole library out 3. Epic Struggle : for controlling 20+ creatures 4. Simic ascendancy / Helix pinnacle : for having a set amount of counters on them 5. Summoner's Pact + Hive mind : for opponents that doesn't play green ### 5.5. Summoner's Pact + Hive Mind + Deadeye Navigator + Mnemonic Wall/Archaeomancer + *Mana Doubler* : Recur 'Summoner's Pact' 10+ times to possibly win against a green deck. 6. Kiora's Follower + Intruder Alarm + The deck of many things + *Sac outlet(e.g. Ashnod altar) : Too much RNG and not reliable but will be fun nonetheless. 7. Altar of Dementia + *Token Doubler(e.g Doubling Season/Parallel Lives)* + *Token Generator(e.g. Ant Queen)* + Concordant Crossroads : For milling other's deck. ### 7.5. Same as above but using a ETB token generator (e.g. Avenger of Zendikar) + Deadeye Navigator.
So, I’m a crazy cat lady who isn’t too good at making Commander Decks on their own. Anyone got any suggestion with making a cat themed deck with this commander? Looking more for fun than competitiveness.
Anyone else find it weird that WOTC goes from "Creatures you control have [X]" to "This creature has [X]. Other creatures you control have [X]" back to "Creatures you control have [X]"??? Feels so odd to me...
Honestly, I'm not really a fan. The text is fine, i suppose. But the art, It's a bit too ridiculous for me. It just feels like something I'd see in an un set, not in the main story. It kind of feels like the main story is becoming a joke. It feels kinda disappointing, in my opinion.

A simic commander that ramps and draws cards. Imagine my shock
Yeah, simic surely needed this. 🤣
Yes they did. It's a cool commander.
