I have more respect for a tech who can rebuild an automatic transmission. I taught myself how to rebuild my 96 Tahoe transmission. It ran the first time with a leaking pump and a 3rd gear shift flair. I fixed the shift flair a year later but the pump leaked for 3 years.
Oh Hell Naw JT.😮 19 year veteran Ford tech here. Much respect cause I would never attempt to do anything like that. At the Ford dealership we have a transmission tech that does this kind of work all day long since a good portion of Ford’s transmissions can be overhauled when they have issues. I ain’t afraid to tackle anything else on the car but I ain’t doin nothing with clutches, clutch packs etc.
Lol, its not that bad once you have an understanding what goes on inside. I was tge transmission man at the dealership for years before they became disposable.

@@OnlineMechanicTips We have a transmission supply house here, near Cleveland. I'm not brave enough to pull my transmission apart JT. Too many special tools needed that i don't have, or will use very often. Not a good investment in my eyes. 😱

Are you freaking kidding, just blowing some smoke up his azz? This is one of the worst and stupidest videos that I have ever tried to watch! All of the rambling on and on about useless crap was too much for me to bear, so I couldn't watch more than about 3/4 of it.

This all looks very familiar. Recently pulled the 62TE out of the better half’s Journey and rebuilt it. It wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought. So far about 20 miles on the transmission and it seems ok. Only time will tell.
just throw some Lucas transmission fix into it. it'll be good as new

The transgo input expander wire is good too. Im not touching alti clutches no more. Only borg warmer hi energy for the 42rle which will filit the a604 if you get the drum kit

Yo just cleared something up for me.I'm looking at a 40te,41te blow up diagram. It shows 3 friction 2metals for OD.Pull 41te
CLUTCH DRUM apart and let it sit .The 4friction disc with 3 metals weren't matching my diagram.
Anyway clutch kit I have has 4 black high energy disc 6 of the regular pinks. Clutches out of my drum we're all the standard pinkish colored discs. I hear the black high energy is for the overdrive. Thanks if you can comment

I have a 40tes...apparently this 604 comes in a few different versions...40te...40tes...41 te...62 te...Do you know how many there are?..I know the 4's are 4 speeds and the 6's are 6 speed but these are all 604 transmissions with what 4 or 5 different versions?...also my fluid always reads at the top of the hot on the dipstick even when stone cold...its like a couple inches higher on the dipstick from the cold spot for checking fluid level..
T is Transverse means sideways. The same way anybody that knows anything looks at you when you are spewing. The part you held up and said was the new seal is the bonded piston. It's called bonded because the lip seal is bonded to the piston. I assume you got more stuff wrong but I'm not interested in learning about Chiseler's glass transmissions.

That bonded piston has a lip seal bonded to it. Could be why he called it a SEAL. You realize this channel isn't for technicians and more for average folk right? If you are rebuilding a transmission you are not referencing this video.

How many more years before you have to go back in to replace it again why not replace the transmission with a new one everything new shipped from overseas maybe they money not that good 💳💳a customer came in with a truck on the tow truck talking about he think somebody put something in his gas tank because it shut down when he was driving it okay now no power come to find out got the power back but won’t turn over turned the crank it’s locked this engine cost a easy 5k and up to do once again people like him want the easy way out🤷🏼🤷🏻♀️🤦🏼♀️💳
