This machine was purchased from Sunny Sewing - it was custom painted by request for me, they have said they are not interested in making anymore that are custom colors.

But the whole time making this thing, i was nervous about the time frame and if i could finish it before revealing it at the workshop. There was and still is screaming living rent free in my head. But nonetheless, it was a pleasure making this sewing machine a reality for you. Hope to see many bags made with it on your channel!
Or don't. You own it and you can appreciate it as much as you want to as a colorful coffee table 😅

All I can say is…..”I WANT THIS MACHINE”!!! 💖💖💖 I run my own alteration shop from my home and I alter many wedding gowns, prom gowns, men’s suits…..etc. I have two amazing machines but I have my heart on a industrial Juki. Now it has to be PINK….OHMYGOODNESS 🥰
Thank you for this video Lauren, after watching this I sewed on my new DU1181n and figured out it has the needle positioner as well. I didn't know that before!! One happy gal here :)

Glad you are finally using it. Yes, changing machines can be daunting. I upgraded my domestic to one with a lot of bells and whistles and the top feature I love is the needle positioner.
You should add castor wheels to your other Juki, especially if you’re loving the height better.

I got the needle positioner for my machine mainly so it stops with the needle down and completely forgot that I can press the front of the foot to make the needle go up. I hand crank every time. For over a year. So thanks for reminding me!

I have a needle positioner and I've been so scared to put it on the machine. I don't know why but it's still in the bagthat it came in LOL when I purchased my machine. Your new machine is beautiful! And I love that blue vinyl for this bag so pretty!!

Hello Lauren! Hope this finds you and the family doing well. Sorry to say haven't been able to watch lately, it's wedding season and I'm up to my knees in flowers! LOL! But I'm glad I got to see your new machine! So pretty in pink!! Would have loved it they could do it in bright red! hehe!!
Okay my dear, need some advise on a new machine if you have a sec. When not doing wedding flowers, I also do sewing projects for the same companies. It could be a sheer, satin or heavy drapery fabric depending on the application it's needed for. I currently do most of the work on my Babylock Quilter's Choice Professional. It's been my horse to say the least! But the girl is starting to buck and whinny when I have to work with the heavier stuff. LOL!! She gives me the stink eye when I bring in a packing blanket to make a cover for something. I've looked at Juki's for years, thought about the 1500, then the 1800, but now I realize I need some that also does zip zag for elastic installation. Plus I want to dabble into bag making. Oh the fabric I have my stash!! LOL!! What is your thought on what might work for my situation? BTW, I unfortunately don't have a basement and the garage is currently full of wedding supplies (to my families chagrin), otherwise I'd have several different machines!! LMAO!! So a multitasker is important.

I thought for a minute you were humming with the machine. On my computer there is a humming every time you sew. But I am jealous and want to come steal you machine....but I really want one in RED. 🙂

It would be great if you could order a color from the manufacturer then it wouldn't have to be sanded and repainted. Probably never happen though.

Love the pink but now you must do something with the tabletop it looks a bit odd to the machine. By the way when doing the adjustable strap must the slider indenture be up or down when first threading through.
It's bad enough that my mouth waters every time I see a Juki in action but a pink one....Yes, I am still whining!!!! LOL I want a walking foot machine but I have 4 other machines already.
I can't do without the needle positioner and the servo motor on my Seiko industrial.

Hello Lauren. As a beginner bag maker, which industrial, and accessories do you recommend.
Lauren, did your new pink 1181 come with the same narrow foot that you use on your original 1181? When I bought mine from Sunny's 2 years ago, it came with a wider foot than what I see you use normally. Just curious. Btw, LOVE THE PINK!! I actually painted my utility trailer PINK. (Guys don't ask to borrow it!} LOL So, when you explained about the placement of your foot on the machine's pedal, you said your toes are at the top and the part of the pedal nearest you is to lift the machine's foot. Does that mean this machine has no knee lever for raising the pressure foot?

Had 1 questions about bag pattern your working on in this video. What is the best way u found to interface this bag. Sometime I don't listen to what the pattern says and find a better way . Would love to hear your opinion cause u made a lot of bag from this pattern 😊thanks

It makes different noise to mine. I have the same machine in the UK. But I had to buy another machine for my second home in Cyprus. Couldn’t get a Juki 😭. So I had to have a Singer 141g. Without a walking foot. It’s just not the same as my Juki. It hates leather and vinyl 😭 😿 😢.
Oh no! Yeah without that walking foot it wouldn’t do much good with those materials!
Can you provide what the difference is between your pink machine and the standard white/blue accent QVPMini? I love the look!!
This is an industrial machine :) it’s not like the Qvp mini
I'm curious what bag making would be like on a vintage or even antique sewing machine? They're somewhat well know for being tougher than a lot of modern sewing machines. 🤔
There are channels that do sew bags on vintage machines!
I have several vintage sewing machines and I love them for bag making. My only issue is that most of them have a maximum presser foot height of 1/4”. This is only a problem when I have to sew over really thick seams. I also suggest buying a walking foot for bag making. They are easy to install on vintage sewing machines and often help when working with shifty materials.
I am considering a purchase of this machine as well, what thread do you recommend? I had to buy special thread for my Janome and hope this one doesn’t need a different kind.

Sewing gold has a slim smooth foot!
How do you avoid gunking up the needle when sewing the handle with tape inside?
You can keep it clean by using an alcohol wipe

Yes I can sew leather. Yes the cylinder arm is meant for more heavy duty leathers
