How long has this form been around? Eight years? No one else is practicing this form, why? You did it so beautifully, like everything else you have done.

This is a new form that I created about a year ago to teach Sun-Style Tai Chi at our school. It's been really popular with our students and I'm currently developing an instructional video for the form.

@@SifuAminWu I saw a video posted on TH-cam 8 years ago titled Sun Style 24 Form posted by TaiChiAstoriaOregon was viewed by 1.5K viewers. She was awful, the beginning part looked somewhat like yours but the ending was different. I don’t know where she got it from, but I wouldn’t call it tai chi. Anyway, good job, it looked like a shorter and easier version of the Form 73.

      @@SifuAminWu ,
You made this up a yer ago?
Interesting. My daughter is learning a Taiji 24. We were trying to figure out which one. I showed her every 24 move Taiji form I could find online. When we came across this video, she told me this is the one she is learning.
Are you near Chattanooga TN, or have students here by chance?

May I ask why is your knee always too far forward when making movements? The knee should at most maintain a right angle. What is your interpretation of your movements, because now it will lead to overuse of the joints.

Hi Rafal - that's an interesting comment. For healthy individuals, I'm not aware of any restrictions about moving the knee past a right angle. I recall years ago in many weightlifting circles there was concern about squatting past 90 degrees but that's been disproven to be an issue for some time. That said, if you're aware of more recent research about that, I'd be really interested.
Of course there are a lot of ways to move that can cause injury to the knees in Tai Chi but I don't see anything that Sifu Wu is doing here that even comes remotely close to being contraindicated.
