Hey, do you know if all these jackets have the same torso length? Im not sure not if i should get a small or medium. I plan on wearing this always over a hoodie. Very narrow shoulders snd skinny bones.
The torso is gonna be shorter than most jackets . That’s the style . A bigger size might make the torso a bit longer , not huge diffrenxe though . Just make sure the hoodie u wear underneath isn’t too long
Has anyone noticed that of all Alpha MA-1 flight jackets only the MA-1 D-Tech is the only MA-1 version that doesnt have the front closure stormflap which is of course due to the inner double zipper for the attachable hood but once removed it looks very symmetrical and super cool. I have MA-1's heritage, MA-1 VF59, MA-1 slim fit but but this one is coolest MA-1 when detachable hood removed.
Hi, how's it gone using it? I guess this is the proper size for a bomber jacket but if you want to wear it with a sweatshirt, due to the length (and the thickness too) of the common sweatshirts versus the length plus the snug elastic waist of the bomber it becomes a little tricky? So that the only way out is to put your sweatshirt inside your trousers? After all they were designed to keep you warm with just a shirt underneath.

Amazon is out of the vintage olive color. On the Alpha Industries site, I can find a vintage gray color, but I cannot find any listed as vintage olive.

I’m 59 165 and an athletic build with pretty big arms. Do you think a medium would fit or should I do a small? I actually always have a problem with jackets fitting me snug around the chest lat area because I’m kind of full around there
As long as it says vintage olive you should be good. Sometimes lighting on the sites make it look different. It looked goldish brown to me as well, that’s how the picture looks on some sites.

Have you tried the MA-1 heritage in XS, would look good on you, my size is L but it gives the baggy look on the lower back, S fits perfectly and gives a much better look & feel than the slim fits. The MA-1 VF 59 in M size and MA-1 heritage in S , love both but second one looks much better. Same thing with my MA-1 D-Tech. I'm 5,10, 160 pounds just for reference. CWU's, 45P hooded, N2B's I have all in S size as well, perfect fit for me.

I would say it’s slightly a bit shorter in length, it mainly hits you tighter if you order smaller, however the arm length remains long no matter what size.
@@Munki Not roomy in M size if you choose Silm Fit version, you should get S size for normal MA-1 version which the arm area is still roomy but fit on body. (For reference I wear M size top in Uniqlo tee as average fit)

However, after doing a bit of research, apparently there are two different versions: USA and EU and the VF (vintage fit) one from EU runs shorter. I ordered from the EU so maybe that's why mine felt too small?

You don't even know its complete use. In distress, you wear it reversed, so that you can be sighted if you are lost somewhere in the jungle. It's a pilot's jacket and you never once mentioned it. Good luck. You are still young and you can learn a lot.

You would mostly style this jacket with a hoodie underneath anyway , so if it’s too light for winter just wear a thicker hoodie underneath .

No, vintage olive has more of brownish gold in it . Sage comes off more green.

MA-1 Heritage in XS does the same thing for me but it has the wider shoulders and thicker arms 👍🏻

If you normally wear a large.... one size down is good enough. A medium should work. It depends on how tight you want it to fit.

Just got one slim fit size M from Alpha as 168cm/ 59kg average asian guy. It really fit perfectly on body rather than regular one.
