  • I shall walk you through on the establishment of a powerline adapter network using two Powerline Adapters. One of them has WiFi range extension, and I use that too. The specific adapters are the TP-Link PA-4010 and WPA-4220.

  • @michael41804

A powerline adaptor connects your computer to the internet by using your home's electrical wiring. With a powerline adaptor, you can truly get the best of both worlds. A powerline adaptor is sometimes called a powerline-Ethernet adaptor because it still uses an Ethernet cable, just in a more limited capacity.

Powerline adapters are great if your wiring allows good function. The documentation that comes with the Powerline adapters state put them on the same electrical circuit for best result. I have sending unit downstairs and the receiving unit upstairs. Speed is not too great and tried to use to connect to TiVo Mini without success. Computer connection was just OK but not great.

I’m sure anyone who’s watched your videos in a similar queue have noticed how quickly you’ve overcame this newbie phase portrayed in this video, a phase of which i’m sure every great youtuber has gone through. Great video. I like that the distinct parts are easily identifiable using the stripy tee shirt against the dark curtain as punctuation!
Me - I'm trying to get stronger wifi in my garden. The garden electrical circuit is, currently, the lighting circuit. My router, boosters, mainline internet adapters are inside on the plug socket circuit.
I think I'm going to have to do some more tinkering. There's only a foot of bricks in between a TP Link AC1900 (plugged in right next to one of my two TP-Link TL-PA9020PKIT 2-Port Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starters) and, on the external side of the wall, one of my two TP-Link TL-PA4010KIT Nano Powerline Adapters next to a NETGEAR 11AC 750 Mbps (300 Mbps + 450 Mbps) Dual Band Gigabit Wi-Fi Range Extender. Not making much of a difference, though. Wifi, in the garden, is still patchy.
I've got all these bits and I'm sure I'm not using any of them correctly! One of the TP-Link TL-PA9020PKITs is connected, to the router, with an ethernet cable. I think I got that bit right. I am currently, in a way, trying to house a tiger in a shoe box! Got a lovely big enclosure set up - the tiger is still happiest in the shoe box. Also, I suspect the Netgears are fighting with the TP Links...
