My parents were divorced, and my mom did everything to keep my dad away. His job was forcing him to work overtime every single day, and he would miss the "window" he was allowed to see me for. After months of this, I apparently didn't recognize him anymore screamed when he tried to take me with him. He pulled over while driving home and cried because he couldn't handle how I didn't want to be around him. He went into work the next day and told them that he would not be working anymore overtime, and they could fire him if that wasn't acceptable. Two weeks later, he was fired. He says he never regretted losing that job.
I feel fortunate to have had my dad come faithfully home every night from a long and hard day's work. Year in year out. God bless him as he's blessed us.
