*WATCH MORE GLOUCESTER:* www.patreon.com/posts/120103924 The extended 23-minute version is ad-free and includes more of Gloucester's waterside areas, me and Masayo's lunch by the boardwalk, a lucky chance to see a drawbridge in action, and details about the fisherman's memorial statue.
Thank you for the video. My mother was from Gloucester, and I spent time there when I was young in the 50s and 60s. Good memories of times long past. About 12+ names on the plaque by the fishermen's memorial are of her family.
I watched the awesome movie, "Captains Courageous" (1937), about 50+ times last year. I would love to visit, but I probably wouldn't live there, if for no other reason, because you have to pay so much to just go to the beach! The parking is unbelievably expensive. When you live in a seaside community, you want to be able to just stop by the beach and walk for awhile, or just stare out to sea. You don't want to have to make an appointment a couple of days in advance to do so!
I would love to live there the North Shore of Massachusetts is one of my favorite places in America. There is do much history and the food is great. But my wife prefers a warm climate, so we're stuck in Florida.
Oddly I'm currently in Osaka recreating some of your rail trips there(took the Thunderbird upto Tsuruga today, will be taking the Hamakae back from Totteri in a couple of days)and at one point I used to live in Gloucester, actually Wingaersheek, but close enough for government work!!!
I've been with you from the beginning, Jeremy, the National Parks, Norway . . . but if I signed up for Patreon on my loved channels, I, as a senior, would go broke. What can I say? I'm disappointed that you've signed on to the Patreon system to this degree.
Yes you've been a long-time viewer! I understand about not wanting to join Patreon as a paid member, but you don't have to. The videos here are still free, and if you want the newsletter, it's also free - hosted on Patreon, but available to anyone who joins as a Free member 👍
The size of the town is fine - but it's in cold country and are there no single-story homes? Always lived in single-storied and now that I've become mobility-challenged - multi-storied homes are a no-no. Plus, no desire to live by the ocean. I guess I won't be even considering living there. The history is fine and important.

Looks like a nice place to walk around and explore like you two did. Thanks for taking us along. 😊
Nice Video! I always find it funny when visitors visit my city, you did great!
There is an episode of Bewitched where they visit Gloucester and Darren is turned into the Gloucester fisherman statue.

Living in Gloucester is like living in a Steinbeck novel. It's like going back in time to the 1960's.
That Man on the Wheel is smaller than I expected it to be.
My husbands cousin lives in Gloucester. We have spent quite some time in the area.
Nice area. Looks fishy 🐟 to me. Thanks Jeremy 😊😊😊😊
