    I was unsuccessfully looking for a perfect App for calories counting, where you can put your ingridients and stuff, and this is it. You´re the life saver. Thank you.

    Dang man thanks for going through the actual process of creating the spreadsheet. Came here looking for a quick solution, ended up leaving with learning some new functions!

    Hey man, i really think more people need to know about this. I have used this to lose over 45kg. Absolutely mad props. My fitness pal and apps like it make it clunky to switch to different foods, this suits me absolutely perfect so honestly thank you!
    Just a quick question, how do i add more foods than 50 to the database?

    • @9to5strength
      @9to5strength  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, nice results! I just checked the formulas and it's set up to do roughly 500 rows, so it's just a case of writing in the new values in the food database underneath the last row. I can't remember why I highlighted them green but it has no functional purpose

    Okay so kind of a dumb question cause I don't use excel. What do you do on day 2 and week 2? Just delete the stuff daily or do you make a new copy everyday?

    Thank you so much for this spreadsheet and tutorial! One question- when you want to start logging a new day, how would you do that? Do you copy the rows and add more above?

    • @9to5strength
      @9to5strength  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's set up so that you would copy the totals for that day and paste them somewhere else, then delete all the entries and start again. If you were interested in keeping a full record of each day I'd probably:
      - Create a new sheet
      - highlight the info from the day you've just filled in and copy it
      - in the new sheet use Ctrl-Shift-V to copy the values from that day, leaving the original untouched
      It can get quite messy if you start copying and pasting formulas so it's best to leave the original sheet intact and copy the values to another sheet. Hope that makes sense!

      @@9to5strength Wow, that is such a helpful tip. I've been doing it manually the past three months- selecting and adding 50 rows above, copy and pasting the formulas, individually deleting all of the ingredients and portion sizes, retyping the date, and it has become quite messy/tedious.
      Since I still want to have an overall look at how my macros have been (and kind of check the specifics of the day by using a dropdown, maybe grouping the rows), do you think I should have a separate sheet with just the daily totals? Or could that somehow be all on one?
      Not sure if my question is clear, but I appreciate your help. You're really a lifesaver.

    Anyone know how to clear a drop down menu item without messing up the formula Please?

  • @sandislancmanis1178

    This is amazing, thanks but does anyone know how to make a formula when you add to the "food database" for example 100g and it automatically generates a portion in the "food diary sheet" 100=1 portion so if we do that it would calculate rest aswell if I add 150g it would directly add 1,5 portion and do the math for rest of macros. Any ideas for a formula like this?

  • @tamasvicze
    @tamasvicze 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you so much! I was trying to make something similar for some time now, and this is a lifesaver!
    I have a question. If I want to set a goal of not a fixed amount of intake but an interval, lets say not 150g Protein a day but anything between 130-160g is good, how can I adjust that in the counter?

    • @9to5strength
      @9to5strength  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Target cell is just a reference, so instead of writing 150g you could just write 130-160 as a reminder to yourself. I also prefer to work with a range so I don't get too obsessed about finding the perfect meal to fit my macros for the day/week

    • @aminekhouni9568
      @aminekhouni9568 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For ranges i like to use conditional highlighting with colors red orange green, 145 being the average of your range in green and 130 and 160 the extremes low and high in red

    Amazing work. Thank you so much. I have been wanting to let go of services like MFP for a while now and I think it's really possible thanks to your tracker.
    I am curious about one thing and maybe you can help me figure it out: why is it that, in most of the nutrition information labels, the calorie/100g value from the label is higher compared to the value we have in your tracker if we just do the function: 4xprot + 4xcarbs + 9xfat?

    • @9to5strength
      @9to5strength  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe there are slightly more precise methods of calculating total kcal, but also some of them don't count insoluble fibre because it passes through your system.

    • @9to5strength

  • @yeeoldeseabass

    What would I have to do to add a cell for fiber?

    • @yeeoldeseabass
      @yeeoldeseabass 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I figured it out. You insert the columns and then you make the formula this (if you added fiber after fat)
      =IF(D3 > 0,D3*VLOOKUP(B3,'Food Database'!$A$3:$G$500,6, False),0)

    • @anitabarry9278

      @@yeeoldeseabass exactly what I was looking for! How did you enter a fibre column on the food database?

    • @yeeoldeseabass
      @yeeoldeseabass 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anitabarry9278 It has been a long time since I did this. I think I just inserted a column and filled it out like all the others. What problem are you running into?

    • @anitabarry9278
      @anitabarry9278 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yeeoldeseabass ahh right ok, I appreciate your response! I've just inserted another column but idk how to input the right formula into the column. Essentially the calories aren't totalling up so I'm having to manually type it in.

    • @yeeoldeseabass
      @yeeoldeseabass 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anitabarry9278 I am going to assume you mean the calories in the diary since the database will still use same formula. In the diary since you changed the calories to column 7 you have to make the 6 before , False),0) 7.
