Just came back from there..it was awesome!! Cabins 44$ a night..
It’s one of my favorite destinations. Glad you enjoyed it.
Looks like a great place for camping, looked like everyone enjoyed themselves. The rain doesn't stop true campers from having fun. Thanks for sharing your family camping trip.
Thank you for the great video Sir. LOL one of the reasons I moved from tent camping to an rv mainly was to not have to deal with wet stuff if it rained. That is very much a myth. Everyone that camps has to deal with packing up in the rain. If it’s pouring and I have to slide my slideout in water in the camper just like drying a tent you must open it soon and dry everything out. Love seeing y’alls adventures. Thank you for posting.
Billy Strong Thanks Billy for the comment. You make a great point. I had the same experience when I tried pop ups several years ago. No matter what your camping unit is, it will get wet and you must dry it out to keep it fresh.
That's an interesting area! Looked like you all had a pretty nice time, even if it did rain a lot.
mrbr549 when we planned this trip, I thought we would have time to visit Lincoln’sBoyhood home, visit nearby caves, and browse through local shops and flea markets. But when you have a large group, every thing takes much more time. I was reminded again that when you camp with children, you must plan simple meals and activities. Thanks for the comment.
Frazier, have you been to Sylvania in the U.P. ?
Mark Kasick No I haven’t and don’t recall where that is. Have you been there? WhT do you think about it?
Frazier Douglass Yes, many times. It’s beautiful. Popular with paddlers. I like to call it Quetico “lite”. Drive up campsites are not subject to wildernesses rules.
Mark Kasick We have camped at Porcupine Mts, Tahquemon, & Straits. And we have visited Lake Gogebic a s Van Ripper. I wish we could come back up there again but I’m getting too old to travel that far. Seems like I recall that developed campground is just outside the Sylvania Wilderness and is managed as a National Forest or State Forest campground?
