As someone with over 4000+ hours in the game, I agree its a love hate relationship. Love when theres actually stuff to do, hate whenever I instantly finish all said new stuff
exactly me I played nothing but pve for all of destiny 1 and destiny 2 with occasionaly pvp in between and a quick reminder why I don't play but after warzone 1 ended I got into the pvp and even tho there isn't much I'm so much better in destiny 2 pvp and I enjoy destiny 2 so much more now because of the pvp only

The Pricing and the fact that u have to buy several packs instead of just one package for the same price and get literally everything is anoying. Wdym? This game has been a fortune since d1 year 1. Coming into the final shape it's a good time to get back in because dlc is on sale and Bungie are making a lot of changes
over the past 9 years, I've heard this point a lot. Most times I struggle to relate to it because I don't feel like I've spent that much on this game. Then I think about it for a bit... and realize I'm just too scared to add it all up and see how much I've really spent.

If they were serious about attracting new players they would either make everything before the witch queen free. That or they update the campaigns with legend difficulty and still offer all of it for at max $10-15. They really should be trying to get as many people to try legendary campaigns if they really want to pull players in.
Or simple bring back Red war. I dont think anyone would seriously complain about destiny 2 being like 300 GB for all its content, Cod is probably more for less anyways. inversely, they could make Shadowkeep's campaign free to play, until you buy one of the other dlc

Was looking into finally playing destiny 2 and searched around TH-cam on advice for new players for all the content you need to buy to actually enjoy it and this meme not only informed me of the future trauma I will be in but also the amount of money I would have to spend to actually play the game. 10/10 video will watch again.
And that’s why I quit playing D2. After they vaulted all the original expansions and I couldn’t play the original Campaign anymore. I was done at that point.
Then there are some of us who paid for Destiny 2 back when it first came out and stopped playing it before the first DLC and have considered coming back..
It does bum me that I had to miss out on so much Destiny content since it was pay gated. Growing up with Destiny when it was on PS3 was one of my most fond memories ever. I only stumbled on it by accident. Now I just admire from afar.
But once you get into it, it's really hard to put it down. I got everything on sale since it was near lightfall, and boy having friends to play with is what really makes me enjoy this game.
It’s so fun early on when you have so much to collect. I have hated these past two seasons because of the fact there feels like nothing worth my time doing. Even the endgame guns feel like they’re on par at best with my current guns

I stopped buying the all season pass and overall dlcs since 2021. I play pvp only now. Been 10 years I’ve been playing, I’m done paying and done with pve stuff, it’s not worth it. The final shape just came out, I ain’t buying that sh*t 😂
This video is insanely accurate for me who’s getting back into the game after stopping when stasis came out. Tip G2A has most of these bundles on some sort of sale. I got every dlc (moved to pc had to rebuy old ones) for $50 not including forsaken.

Id probably just recommend getting beyond light, or the pack with beyond light. good and easy campaign, new subclass, great raid, its a good place to start; hell its where is started. but id definitely recommend waiting for sales unless you wish to spend a lot, its your money after all
Beyond wasn't even good at all, it was a lack luster over hyped dlc. And even after all the updates on beyond light you can't even have fun with it because they removed half the good shit on that dlc for witch queen and now it happened again on light fall
@@cheddar4203 The story was good, and getting Stasis felt natural and properly intertwined with the story. Unlike Strand which while it was kinds more fun to get but it was literally just "oh hey, whats this weird green stuff?". And again, the raid is the best part with DSC being a top tier raid

We got ice powers that were so terribly unbalanced for the year following Witch Queen, they played catch up the entire year. Only good part of the DLC was DSC but even then we just got Taniks.... again
People talk so much bull junk on EA and Respawn, Ubisoft, Actiblizz etc. But Bungie BY FAR has the worst monetization in the video game industry. It is at the point where all the coolest looking armor isn't even lootable anymore. It is all in the cash shop. And like this video shows, everything costs way too much now to play. I just skip the dungeons now as they used to be free when first introduced and I cannot be bothered anymore.

I play everything on a 1-DLC lag... so for example now that The Final Shape is out, Lightfall is on sale for like $10... did the same with Witch Queen when Lightfall was new
I paid 60 Euro's at release. The moment it became free to play they added tons of content you have to pay for. Ow and you never got your 60 Euro back either.
The sale prices they just had after the light fall showcase should be the regular price. Forsaken pack, Beyond light and Shadow keep should just be free. I just can’t believe they make enough money off of the sales of those dlcs to justify not just making the, free to attract new players with actual campaigns. Those are 3-5 years old now and don’t even have legend difficulty campaigns.

Literally me buying the $25 bundle and NOT paying for TFS. And I'm okay with that. I got 10 years of content I gotta playthrough as well as some grinding and learning mechanics. By the time I'm ready, TFS will probably be on sale already
The dlc went on sale for 80% and I got them all for my friend. Only cost 45 bucks. Which is less than a single expansion on release. The only thing she doesn’t have access to is the two new dungeons. It was worth it though for sure.

I just got back into it, and the 3 tines I've logged back on I was thrown into the middle of some quest I never started. I have no idea whats going on.
With the release of the final shape, I got all the past dlc’s for $12 (excluding the two dungeon keys that are $20 each) I can finally get into the game! 😅
I got back into destiny like 6 months ago, got the newest pack, loaded up my character only to realize I needed like 3 other expansions, finished 1 then bought the preceding expansion. finally all that was left was nightfalls and raids, I forgot that all of that stuff basically centers around some pseudo "cheese" method in order to beat it. I quit about 3 months ago.
I remember being addicted to Destiny 1. What a wonderful time I had with everyone. D2 was ok but I quickly got tired of it. Too much focus on monetization and crap that never mattered. Shoved in your face. It was just enough in D1. But obviously times have changed and videogames do this now. Shame. Game looks cool nowadays but I'm not investing my time into it anymore. I wanna play many games and for that I can't stick with one game too long.
If only I saw this video before I fell into the DLC trap. I bought the legacy collection and bought the witch queen extention only to realize there were at least 2 more battle passes AND a dungeon pass DLC, it was crazy and I instantly quit when I realized this.
I’ve always made the effort to use my collective credit card rewards points and/or stock dividends to buy Destiny 2 expansions. I consider this free money (which it may or may not be). It’s been working for 8 years plus since D1
Man that's sad, I used to play this game in like 2018 when it wasn't free to play (there was an offer in Battle Net, they were giving it out for free) and I had a blast till like level 30, then I had to pay if I wanted to progress more, but it wasn't that outrageous like today

And that’s why I quit playing D2. After they vaulted all the original expansions and I couldn’t play the original Campaign anymore. I was done at that point.
Then there are some of us who paid for Destiny 2 back when it first came out and stopped playing it before the first DLC and have considered coming back..
It does bum me that I had to miss out on so much Destiny content since it was pay gated. Growing up with Destiny when it was on PS3 was one of my most fond memories ever. I only stumbled on it by accident. Now I just admire from afar.

It’s so fun early on when you have so much to collect. I have hated these past two seasons because of the fact there feels like nothing worth my time doing. Even the endgame guns feel like they’re on par at best with my current guns

I stopped buying the all season pass and overall dlcs since 2021. I play pvp only now. Been 10 years I’ve been playing, I’m done paying and done with pve stuff, it’s not worth it. The final shape just came out, I ain’t buying that sh*t 😂
and still, if a new player gets all of those DLCs, they'll still have no idea whats going on in the story.
Honestly, the legacy collection is a really good deal and you get a lot of content with. Definitely enough to enjoy the game.

This video is insanely accurate for me who’s getting back into the game after stopping when stasis came out. Tip G2A has most of these bundles on some sort of sale. I got every dlc (moved to pc had to rebuy old ones) for $50 not including forsaken.

Id probably just recommend getting beyond light, or the pack with beyond light. good and easy campaign, new subclass, great raid, its a good place to start; hell its where is started. but id definitely recommend waiting for sales unless you wish to spend a lot, its your money after all
Beyond wasn't even good at all, it was a lack luster over hyped dlc. And even after all the updates on beyond light you can't even have fun with it because they removed half the good shit on that dlc for witch queen and now it happened again on light fall
@@cheddar4203 The story was good, and getting Stasis felt natural and properly intertwined with the story. Unlike Strand which while it was kinds more fun to get but it was literally just "oh hey, whats this weird green stuff?". And again, the raid is the best part with DSC being a top tier raid
@@Z0MB1ESLAYER115sounds like rose colored glasses my friend. BL was such a letdown at launch, the Stranger ultimately didn't really have any impact, neither did Drifter nor Eris. We got ice powers that were so terribly unbalanced for the year following Witch Queen, they played catch up the entire year. Only good part of the DLC was DSC but even then we just got Taniks.... again

People talk so much bull junk on EA and Respawn, Ubisoft, Actiblizz etc. But Bungie BY FAR has the worst monetization in the video game industry. It is at the point where all the coolest looking armor isn't even lootable anymore. It is all in the cash shop. And like this video shows, everything costs way too much now to play. I just skip the dungeons now as they used to be free when first introduced and I cannot be bothered anymore.

I play everything on a 1-DLC lag... so for example now that The Final Shape is out, Lightfall is on sale for like $10... did the same with Witch Queen when Lightfall was new

The sale prices they just had after the light fall showcase should be the regular price. Forsaken pack, Beyond light and Shadow keep should just be free. I just can’t believe they make enough money off of the sales of those dlcs to justify not just making the, free to attract new players with actual campaigns. Those are 3-5 years old now and don’t even have legend difficulty campaigns.

The dlc went on sale for 80% and I got them all for my friend. Only cost 45 bucks. Which is less than a single expansion on release. The only thing she doesn’t have access to is the two new dungeons. It was worth it though for sure.

Reason number one I became a warframe player many many years ago; difference pay to play vs want to pay. Even then you can just farm things people want for ingame currency if you really don’t wanna spend any money.

With the release of the final shape, I got all the past dlc’s for $12 (excluding the two dungeon keys that are $20 each) I can finally get into the game! 😅
I got back into destiny like 6 months ago, got the newest pack, loaded up my character only to realize I needed like 3 other expansions, finished 1 then bought the preceding expansion. finally all that was left was nightfalls and raids, I forgot that all of that stuff basically centers around some pseudo "cheese" method in order to beat it. I quit about 3 months ago.
I remember being addicted to Destiny 1. What a wonderful time I had with everyone. D2 was ok but I quickly got tired of it. Too much focus on monetization and crap that never mattered. Shoved in your face. It was just enough in D1. But obviously times have changed and videogames do this now. Shame. Game looks cool nowadays but I'm not investing my time into it anymore. I wanna play many games and for that I can't stick with one game too long.
Since this they've added DLCs to PS+ tiers. Not sure which but it's an incentive if anyone is interested. Not for me. I had my fun back in the day.
If only I saw this video before I fell into the DLC trap. I bought the legacy collection and bought the witch queen extention only to realize there were at least 2 more battle passes AND a dungeon pass DLC, it was crazy and I instantly quit when I realized this.
I literally went through this loop with a mate of mine the other day, we gave up in the end and didn't even bother buying anything.
And sadly as a vet, I've spent MUCH more on this game. And we don't wanna discuss how much was spent on d1 expansions knowing I was a year 1 player

I’ve always made the effort to use my collective credit card rewards points and/or stock dividends to buy Destiny 2 expansions. I consider this free money (which it may or may not be). It’s been working for 8 years plus since D1
Man that's sad, I used to play this game in like 2018 when it wasn't free to play (there was an offer in Battle Net, they were giving it out for free) and I had a blast till like level 30, then I had to pay if I wanted to progress more, but it wasn't that outrageous like today

I took a break for about a year, got the urge to play again, read about everything I needed for the complete experience and nope'd right out.
