😀 Thanks, Scott. When I look at my videos, all I see is things that I screwed up, or didn’t do Andy justice to. The world lost a unique voice in his passing.
We learned a lot from your videos, huge thanks! Just a positive comment: Watching the Rank video, Andy plays the verse part on open 3rd string and the 2nd string 5th/7th fret instead of open 1st/hammer 2nd fret and 1st string/2nd fret. That makes the accent on 1st/7th-6th fret easier... Keep up the good work!
Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. Stupidly, I didn’t think to study videos of Andy when I was learning these songs, and watching other TH-cam people trying to play his lines was super frustrating. So I just tried to figure out what I could by listening. Hopefully there is some better content out there since the last time I looked. Thanks for the comment!
This is just phenomenal. Do you have a rendition of Hand in Glove by the same group? I guess Andy's bass lines in Hand in Glove are very beautiful. Greetings.
RIP Andy. This might be his best work and you did it justice.
I've watched a lot of these videos and I'm convinced this was the real Andy Rourke. A unique and amazing bass player.

Absolutely superb. One of the best baselines ever written, and you nailed it. 👏👏👏
Thank you!
Hearing the bass line isolated for the first time. Wow, is all i can say. RIP Andy.
This is a prime example of an Andy Rourke line that is extremely difficult unless you tune up to F#.
Yes. I'm always amazed when I see people trying to play his "F#" tunes on a standard tuned bass.
@@andyrourke1812 you mean YOUR F# tunes!!
Excellent job - RIP Andy. One of his best bass lines imo
Rest In Peace Andy.
Nice one, so much nuance in his lines and you’ve got it down pat, RIP Andy legend
Único e irrepetible. Long live Andy Rourke
You may not be the real Andy Rourke, but you sure as heck can play one of the best baselines ever written.
Nailed it! Enjoyed that. Thanks
Fantastic !!!!!!!!!!
Hell yea she is, right on!
Excellent!!!!! ✌️

The bassline is actually the most important instrument in this song
I instantly fell in love with this album when it was released in 85.
1986!
Andy really should have received songwriting credits. Those bass lines didn't create themselves.
I agree. Maybe not for every song, but for this one and several others, it would not have been a song without his bass melodies.
This is just phenomenal. Do you have a rendition of Hand in Glove by the same group? I guess Andy's bass lines in Hand in Glove are very beautiful. Greetings.
Wow
great! do you have the tabs?
Sorry, no
wenaaaa!!!
Fucking awesome! Are you playing in E?
All strings tuned up a tone
Is this in A E B Gb?
Yes, though most people name the strings starting the lowest first. All strings up a whole step from standard tuning
Thank you so much
Do you have a tab for this?
Sorry, I have no tabs
good god man, watch the video and make an effort!
Sounded great ! Is that an open B sound?
Thanks! All strings are tuned up a whole step, a pretty common tuning that Andy used in The Smiths, especially on the early songs
Killer riff
