It's because vivec's fate depends on if the player kills him or not.
Anything the player can directly affect in a Bethesda game is deliberately avoided, due to player choice, and left vague for player personal interpretation.
But Jiub is not, after asking your name, he is essentially voided from existence as soon as you leave the instance. Eliminating the player having any influence over his fate. And for official lore, that's free real estate!

Maybe I'm reading too much into it but Jiub's hero's journey mirrors the players in the elder scrolls. Starts out a prisoner, does amazing things, is recognised for it, passes into legend, disappears from the land of their heroic deeds, winds up in crazy, ambiguous limbo, neither living nor dead. Like how the player characters are removed from history once the events finish.

You don't remember him in Morrowind because he is absolutely forgettable in that game. Jiub is a Hero the same way a Fireman is a hero, or a Nurse.
Sure killing Cliffracers isnt the "MOST EPIC DRAMATIC WAR EVER FOUGHT" as other heroes tent to do, but he is an epic hero for the people being harrassed by those winged demons.
Him being sainted is also fitting, he took time of his life to help the people, dedicate his life to what other Heroes would consider a side quest, or day i say "beneath them".

The same trauma that likely led to addiction also made him able to connect with others suffering loss. Honestly, I'd love a Illidan video. He's one of the few characters that I can think of who's genuinely an anti-hero, and his personality is just incredible. There are so many instances that you can point at where it's obvious that what he's doing is not just for saving people, but for his own gain, and it's so refreshing to have a "good" guy who's personality is not just "I want to be as good as possible and make sure nothing bad happens to these innocent people."

I think there is a villain (antivillain?) you might find interesting. It's Dhaos from Tales of Phantasia. What follows is a spoiler:
While at first it seems Dhaos is a regular sealed evil type of space parasite who wipes out entire villages (which you will visit while and after they're wiped out to rub the salt in), and it has a cult army of people who want to use Dhaos for power, the ending is actually bittersweet. Yes, you kill Dhaos, and everything is well (except you go back to rebuild the village burned by his goons and mourn the villagers you saw just before they were mercilessly murdered), you find out Dhaos wanted to steal the mana tree that gives life to the planet not for power but to save his planet, because the mana tree on his planet died. Martell, the goddess of the mana tree, sends a seed of her tree to his planet after Dhais was killed, thus saving his planet.
I don't think Dhaos speaks the language of the inhabitants, so he couldn't even tell what he's up to. I think he is a silent villain all throughout the game.

Another thing about the invasion of Kvatch that is a neat fan theory is that you can actually find a severed Dunmer head in one of the destroyed homes in the city. Some fans believe it's Jiub's head. A bit morbid, but it's my personal head-canon. Pun not intended.

Imagine in about 50 years, when the Elder Scrolls 8 comes out, they take some unimportant NPC that everybody knows (Nazeem) and give them a similar treatment, giving them a fascinating story that happened in the background between games.

great vid as always bro. if you feel up to it, i think the protagonist of nier would make a great subtle villainpedia even though theres only one game with them involved theres a huge amount of books and supplemental material.
as for more elder scrolls stuff, the nerevarine is a pretty interesting character as they vanished in akavir rather than just fading into obscurity like other video game heroes, but honestly im sure you could make a vid on some obscure character from a game no ones heard of it and it'll be great. god bless

He might be a hero in the eyes of people, and the cliff racer might be annoying, but he still made his legend by eradicating a specie.
That don't seem really right to me, maybe a bit too extreme.

Dutch has been covered pretty thoroughly but Tenpenny, Dimitri, and Gary often get overlooked. Id love to see a fantasy nerd’s take on some gangsters lol, love your vids dude all the best

Here's to the item that Jiub's soul energy is powering in The Elder Scrolls 6.
If we're lucky it'll be a spear that does ever increasing damage too the same enemy type the more you kill creatures of the same type and his reset when you kill a creature of a different type.

Edit: it's kinda interesting, the snakes of the St. Patrick tale, were probably not actual snakes, but rather, heretics of the abrahamic faith. Which would make more sense than literal snakes

I’m not sure how doable it would be, but I’d love to see a Heropedia or NPCpedia on Solanum or The Prisoner from Outer Wilds would be amazing (both are great, but reading bits and pieces of Solanum growing up and then meeting her is just 🥹). Otherwise, I think diving into ER more and doing maybe Jerren or Sellen (or a joint episode because obviously their paths cross a lot)
