All cutscenes for Starcraft and its expansion, Brood War. The game was made in 1998 so excuse the 480p.
The audio might be off-sync because I had to record it separately with Audacity, and sync it in editing later which I've never been good at (and it isn't really very easy). It sounds good enough to me. - เกม

I grew up with Starcraft 2, but as I got older, I kept hearing about how great SC1 was. So I finally gave it a shot and once you get over the dated UI and visuals, it’s such a blast. The entire vibe the game gives is brilliant, I love the darker feeling it has. I can only imagine how mind-blowing it must have been to play it on release.

I love how the Battlecruiser interior decor includes a mix of advanced technology alongside old-school stuff like a vinyl record player. I also love the Carrier's sleek design with that glowing red Purifier weapon in the middle. Such detail!
no protoss could ever replace the honor and glory of Tassadar. he was quite simply the greatest of that mighty race.

I liked SC2, but watching these scenes that are just dripping with atmosphere and grittiness makes the ones in SC2 look almost toyish by comparison.
All the original starcraft (1 & broodwar) cutscenes really held up with time. They were beautifully shot and made.

When they made SC2 those references aren't as current. Everything is just friendlier and more polished nowadays. Just imagine somebody making Robocop 1 in todays society. I miss the ol times badly.
They totally are toyish - except for opening cinematics of HOTS and LOTV, which are epic as Hell.
The opening to Heart of the Swarm and the cutscene in Wings of Liberty where the scientist lady is infested were hella amazing.
10:55 out there in the world, there have been actual soldiers who have been forced to make this call. Imagine being alive and breathing, and having to shout those words. A great cutscene too, and back when animation couldn't do enough and you had to rely on voice actors delivering. And oh boy did they deliver!

Ah, the memories. Back when the Zerg were soulless killing machines, the Protoss were mysterious powerful entities, and the Terrans were good old southern boys. And the universe was grim, grisly, and gory. SC2 flushed all that immersion down the crapper.
Blizzard: Because a love story is more marketable and we can't have the Zerg be to evil and violent think about the children, lets instead change them to these misunderstood animals that were corrupted by Space Satan

Mind you the UED were going to be the fourth faction with there own technology, like laser and railgun weapons.
Brood War zerg seem more... alien. More scary.
I always thought a satirical point was being made as to how SIMILAR the factions were, despite cosmetic differences.
I think the UED is the most powerful Terran Faction in SC,because they almost conqured the korpulu sector if it was't for the terran,protoss,and zerg alliance.

In game, the Protoss buildings burn with blue flame when they are damaged. But in the cinematic of Zergs ravaging Aiur, buildings burn with red flame. lol

WWI btw, was the reason the French fared as poorly in the beginning stages of WWII, their tactics for avoiding shit from Germany was perfectly outdated by the time the Nazi's rolled in.
That's the part everyone remembers. The part they conveniently don't remember is the French commander - who the UED commander in SC:BW is ironically named after - led his forces to effectively re-take France from the Nazi's and how that whole ordeal went down.
Do you remember what that French commander was called or did you have to break out the google machine to tell me?
The French have a long and successful military history of both conquest and defense. They get a bad rap because they surrendered immediately because the Nazis had fucking tanks camped right outside Paris. Then people conveniently forget the immediate, brutal resistance campaign because it's fun to point at fancy people and call them pussies.

Replaying the original Starcraft and watching these cinematics again really nailed home just how much I missed the grit and atmosphere from SC1 in SC2. While I certainly found Starcraft 2 enjoyable overall, it simply does not have the darker tone and interesting characters that made the original so darn memorable.

These cutscenes were amazing... Where did Blizzard go wrong with the lackluster cut scenes in WoL and the outright ridiculously terrible ones in HotS?
I thought the new ones were pretty good. Not quite as spectacular but the story was great. Nostalgia could be getting in the way but then again, Diablo 3's were terrible and their new MOBA has been the most exciting...
+Intranetusa Wow. We are SO freakin hard to entertain these days. The cinematics in SCII are the $#!^! All of them. The story is so good, it doesn't even need to be made into a movie. It accomplishes everything fans could want from a sequel and even goes so far as to bring events in the first game to life, tying everything together flawlessly. Unplug for a couple of weeks, then come back. Maybe you'll see things with a little more gratefulness and satisfaction. Maybe not.

What? Have you even played SC2? Especially Heart of the Swarm? Almost all of SC2 cutscenes were cheesy. They introduced groupie-girl Zerg females to follow Kerrigan around the entire game in HOTS. The only good cutscene that stands out was the Zerg invasion of Korhal/the opening cinematic. LOTV had a slightly better plot and better cutscene than HOTS, but was still incredibly cheesy. The entire plot of SC2 series is incredibly cheesy and it was reflected in the cutscenes - they lacked the visual & emotional "impact" and grittiness of SC1 and SC1 Broodwar cutscenes.
+Intranetusa They should make StarCraft III like StarCraft Original.All the new StarCraft storylines are predictable and cheesy except for Covert Ops (Plot Twist Spoiler) and Broodwar is for emos and depressed no lifes.
These cutscenes have the classic blizzard cheese, but they also tell the overall aftermath of many missions. They were simple whereas the cutscenes from all of SC2 tried to give us over the top action. Some people might prefer them but I didn't, I would rather have the simple cheese of yesteryear with classic lines like "I love you Sarge" and "I got yer zerg riggght here, hehehe" spellllaatt!

Hello! Many times played Starcraft and Starcraft 2. Reviewing video, I was seized by nostalgia and longing. It's a pity to part with such an interesting and fascinating world. I hope will be continued. Will be Starcraft 3!

I remember playing this in 99 as a kid and thinking the cutscenes were the greatest graphics and dreamed that games one day would look as good as the cutscenes and couldn't imagine games having possibly better graphics than them... Now looking back 21 years later, these cutscenes look so poorly dated. Sure didn't take long for my expectations in gaming to be surpassed! Also I like how the Marines run out of ammo seemingly fast in the cutscenes when that's never a factor in the game, how a marine had a rocket launcher, and there was a gun-tractor thing. My fave scene overall back then was the dropship on the space station... I replayed that like 40 times and showed it to my friends.
Honestly, I miss the very dark, depressing scenery of the SC 1 and expansion... Current style is too childish...

CragHack UED are Earth and other planets. UED sent fleet to scout Korpull conquer Korpull sector. So only UED fleet was destroyed. And i think that this fleet wasn't all UED army

I like SC2. I like its story and characters, but damn it it took too many steps towards Star Wars-esque spectacle. Compare Fenix getting his ass kicked by one or two Hydralisks to the protoss in LoV being Martian Jedi with the Flying Senate Chamber.

If I want to agree with you, it's because Blizzard too early made the orcs into allies too early too. I'd have rather seen a bloody third war with the Orcs and Humans than see the Elves get the Chicago PD treatment in WarCraft III: Frozen Throne.

eh sc1 is life, sc2 doesn't have the same atmosphere imo, sc2 everything just feels too humane..zerg have english speaking officers that talk just like humans..Kerrigan "i am the swarm" saying do not have sense to me anymore, IF YOU are the SWARM, YOU ARE god damn the whole swarm, like with the BORG when single queen ruled the whole BORG, only the overmind and perhaps cerebrates are ok, but the rest? it is nonsense, it' like in cartoon when u see animals speak like humans . The protoss also have weaker impact , sc1 zealots had this strong voice and this alien badass look, sc2 zealots just look more pretty with uninteresting voices and feel useless in game.

The cutscenes alone are pretty bad, and if you are into RTS then Starcraft 1 should be one of the best games you've ever played, and it definitely isn't poorly made. It's still considered to be the most balanced RTS in existence.

I love how protoss look here, thin, fragile, and big heads, like they are obviously smart. Also the lack of mouths, they where so mysterious. Sc2 toss look so generic and boring, like the buffed aliens of any modern videogame, ah i HATE SC2
