    Max Bruch's grandiose violin concerto in G minor is often coupled with Mendelssohn's violin concerto, as if it were a secondary work. Although Mendelssohn's concerto is a pure masterpiece and occupies the podium of the four great violin concertos alongside Beethoven, Brahms and Tchaikovsky, we wanted Bruch's concerto to be published as a work in its own right, as it fully deserves it. Moreover, the recording of Itzhak Perlman for EMI with the Concertgebouw conducted by Bernard Haitink has dominated the discography for decades. It is a model of suppleness, tension and nobility.

    Wunderschöne und spannende Interpretation dieses spätromantischen und technisch anspruchsvollen Konzerts mit seidigem doch gut artikuliertem Ton der unvergleichlichen Solovioline und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen der anderen Instrumente. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt lyrisch. Der letzte Satz klingt besonders spannend und auch energisch. Der erfahrene und geniale Maestro dirigiert das ausgezeichnete Orchester im gut phrasierten Tempo und mit künstlerisch kontrollierter Dynamik. Wunderbar und atemberaubend zugleich!

    • @voraciousreader3341
      @voraciousreader3341 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think you’re a bit confused by the term, “underrated,” which means, “unappreciated.” What your friends know or don’t know about Max Bruch is completely irrelevant to the rest of the world, OK? This concerto has never been underrated, at all, bc every educated musician or cultured person knows it’s a masterpiece. What you mean is, “not currently known with the current undereducated generation,” which is something else entirely. Every single violinist of note has to have this concerto in his or her repertoire, it is studied, it is performed, and in a TH-cam search I found recordings by every major violinist of the 20th century, and also from the 21st. I know for certain that the majority of Max Bruch’s 200 works are forgotten or rarely performed, except for his gorgeous, “Kol Nidrei,” for cello and orchestra and, “Scottish Fantasy” for violin and orchestra. So, the only way to make him known is to play this music for your friends....if they don’t want to know, find different friends!

    Una lettura portentosa che esalta e innalza a vette elevate un musicista che è sulla scia dei grandissimi ma ( mi si perdoni) manca di una “ ispirazione genuina”. Ecco che Perlman( violinista padrone assoluto dell’archetto) esalta la scrittura( non proprio originale.

    • @cathyb1273
      @cathyb1273 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I Perlman is effectively jewish, M Bruch was not jewish. Not that it matters much but it is a fact.
      Wiki extract : "The success of Kol Nidrei led to the assumption by many that Bruch was of Jewish ancestry, although the composer refuted this. Indeed, as long as the nazis was in power (1933-1945), performance of his music was restricted because he was considered a possible Jew for having written music with an openly Jewish theme, despite repeated denials by his surviving family. As a result, his music was largely forgotten in German-speaking countries. There is no evidence, however, that Bruch was Jewish. As far as can be ascertained, none of his ancestors was a Jew. Bruch was given the middle name Christian, and was raised a protestant".
