Will certainly give it a try. Thanks for bringing the awesome foods of Singapore to our attention. Quite a lot of what you feature are now on our favourite foods list (Fushun char siew, Koothurar/Ali Nachia briyani etc) :) :)
If U have the time pls do A Vlog on the oldest Katong Wanton Mee Old School, 3 doors from Ampang Yong Tau Foo, East Coast Road!!! I have been eating since 55 years ago
yeah. i find that annoying. if u want to record, get out of the frame. then later on when he sits down to eat behind, he keeps looking at the cam. -__-
It’s through a variety of sources - old newspaper clippings, magazines, going to the library, blogs, talking to them, old videos. It depends on the vlog really
i love the traditional coffee at this coffee shop, coffee the traditional way and not frm the tap.. yes the bak chor mee is really good but q is long...
Okay update. We went to taste this BCM on 21 Aug, around 12pm. The uncle wasn't there, only the lady. The noodles were very well executed. The sauce was very flavourful. I orderd the 5 dollar one that came with the prawn, which was my only gripe. The prawn was a very fishy in flavour but the texture wasn't too bad. I felt like it didnt go with the dish. I didn't get the tipo but the meatballs had a fair share of it. Overall, not bad.
One pet peeve i have with most BCM stalls is overly soggy noodles from the lack of effort made to strain them after cooking. Makes the sauce watered down. I've recently taken to ordering mee kia instead of mee pok because of this. One thing I find consistent across "good" BCM stalls that is not often highlighted is this.
$4 bowl is high but acceptable. Before this version, you made a silent version and I thot the cheapest price bowl is $6 and I was so shocked why BCM shld be charged so high.
By far my favourite Bak Chor Mee store in Singapore. My dad brings me out at 7 a.m pre covid because the wait could get pretty lengthy but I'd gladly wait 40 or so minutes for a good bowl. That aside, there's a pretty decent curry png stall right next to it if the queue's way too long
Bro Greg you are the one of the guy who took pain to share talk eat & enjoy the ingredients of spices, stocks noodles seasoning & such all at one go making me drooling over your Ba Chor Mee 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏼
different style lah. tai wah focuses on the black vinegar and fish sauce flavours a little more. this one is a bit more rounded in flavour. Tai Hwa more ex, this one cheaper. both good!
Good review. Tai Hwa is my favourite. Definitely, a must try if you happened to be in Tiong Bahru and not so vinegar centric. Like Greg, liver would be a better option than abalone.
Hi Gregory, I’ve watched all ( I think ) of your food vlogs. I like them cos of your honest opinions. Your recommendations have always been good BUT your makan ventures are always in the mornings/ early afternoons. Those stalls close after lunch hour 😒. I can only be there after 5pm ( for dinner or supper ). Sigh 😔
Very rude owner . Was queuing n he just goes off n prepare his fish from the fridge . Guess it’s his lunch . He didn’t say anything n just goes off . Won’t eat even it could be nice . Attitude sucks !

Super good value for money given the generous amount of premium ingredients.
How would you compare this to 58 BCM at Taman Jurong? Tried that one after seeing your video on it and indeed it was pretty good!

I did not realize you have a blog until just now...
Excellent review and breakdown! Miss singaporean food
So if u were to be told that u can only have one BCM, would u pick this or Hill street Tai Hwa BCM?
tai hwa is overrated, not that it is bad just not the best
At around the 5 mins mark, there's a guy in the background filming you filming your food review hahahaha
where i don’t see it lol
@ 5 to 5.10 mark where u held up the meat ball
Some dudes will record anything. Who knows why?

Where do you get all this background information about the business / business owner(s)?
For this one, it’s through casual conversation with them after many many years of eating there 😆

@@GregoryLeow personal fav is still Tai Hwa, but will give this a try! Thank you 🙏🏻
Good stall! Personally I like McPherson minced meat noodles at Bukit batok, and Ah hoe at west coast, Greg have you tried?
